Sponsored by Saks Fifth Avenue.

Saks is currently running a Friends & Family sale — 25% off select new arrivals, for example — and, if you happen to be in the market for jeans…it’s bananas good. Like, the best selection of French-girl straight-leg, cool-girl wide-leg (barrel??) jeans, and even some really intriguing statement flares. Add to that a bunch of gorgeous coats (including Linzi’s recent rainbow puffer purchase), and my head is spinning.

Let’s get the actual details out of the way: From Sept. 26 until Oct. 3, as I mentioned, take 25% off select new arrivals, 20% off select jewelry, and 15% off select beauty and grooming. If you’re a points person, you can also earn double points sitewide.

The sale contains a ton of gems (my rag & bone backpack is included, for example), but there are definitely a few categories that really blew me away: jeans, coats, boots (in that order). I’m a huge fan of Saks on a good day, and this one….well. This sale section is serving, as they say.

From Fall Jackets To Classic Jeans, Saks’ Friends & Family Sale Has It All

Let’s start with a few pieces that I can either personally recommend OR are currently in my cart. Pieces like Laura’s Anine Bing sweatshirt (in a seriously gorgeous dark green), a Reiss wool midi coat (I have it in camel, but that blush pink would prob be more versatile in my cool-tone wardrobe), a SAM. vegan-leather puffer jacket (seriously technical, seriously chic) and DENIM. (I’m actually wearing those SLVRLAKE London jeans right now.)

Saks’ Friends & Family Sale: Our Complete Edit

While the pieces above are the ones I’m currently considering, I’ve found that this sale is much more than a few little gems — the exciting pieces run deep. And while this sale does last until Oct. 3, to make life easier I tried to save the best stuff (according to me, haha) into these handy little shopping widgets below.

Cool & Classic Jeans

The straight-leg opening of the SLVRLAKE jeans is wider than other pairs (these aren't pants that spoof skinnies), & the fit is pretty TTS.

SLVRLAKE jeans

I’m literally wearing these SLVRLAKE jeans as I speak. The inseam is 32 inches, tho, so I definitely had to hack off several inches. I ended up cropping them to right above my ankle bone. The resulting look is about as French-girl classic as it gets. The straight-leg opening is decidedly wider than others (these are not straight-leg jeans that spoof skinnies), and the fit is pretty TTS (I’m wearing a 27…but might have been OK in the 26). They’re 100% cotton with no stretch but are really soft and surprisingly forgiving. When I first put them on, I thought they might be too classic…but then I realized that they’re just perfect. Classic but cool. Almost boring…but not. Highly recommend.

OK. After that lengthy discussion on SLVRLAKE London jeans…here are the other pairs that caught my eye:

Cozy Coats & Jackets

This SAM. vegan-leather jacket, if you're in the market for a chic new puffer, feels like a no-brainer.

SAM. jacket

I’m always so freaking impressed with SAM. jackets. It obviously puts aesthetics at the forefront, but they don’t skimp on technical details, either. Totally worth the cost (even not on sale). This vegan-leather jacket, if you’re in the market for a chic new puffer, feels like a no-brainer.

Here are a few others that caught my eye:

Swoonworthy Boots & Shoes

I love taupe boots, & this Loeffler Randall pair is just to die for.

Loeffler Randall boots

Yup, I’m still droning on about taupe boots. The above boots are the closest thing to this year’s version of my old Loeffler Randall pair (which technically are in the sale but only in size 5). Here are a few other options that caught my eye:

Interesting Sweaters & Tops

This rag & bone turtleneck sweater combines cool details (ribbed knit, contrast stitching) with an almost liquid-blocky shape.

rag & bone sweater

Hi, sweater season. This rag & bone turtleneck combines cool details (ribbed knit, contrast stitching) with an almost liquid-blocky shape. Love it.

P.S. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that the gray color of my favorite tee ever was part of the sale.

Dreamy Bottoms

Saks has great faux-leather skirts & chic trousers. Not to mention the pretty plaids, fun prints & interesting textures.

faux-leather midi skirt

We’re obviously really feeling faux leather and trousers here. Add in some pretty plaids, fun prints and loooots of texture, and you’ve captivated us. (Nice going, Saks.)

Date-Night-Ready Dresses

Who says you can't wear dresses in fall & winter? I'm still going to be rocking bodycons, midi, minis & more.

Norma Kamali bodycon

I’m looking forward to a fall and winter of real clothes. So, yeah — I’m gonna wear the damn dress.

Hope this was helpful!
