My Search For The Perfect Pair Of Faux Leather Pants

Ya know. For being a fashion blogger, I tend to be pretty reserved when it comes to jumping on the super trends (meaning, I rarely jump at all…it’s more like a very slowwww and skeptical saunter-to). I almost feel like I need time to let something new and out-of-the-norm simmer, and then watch it evolve a bit more before I feel ready to try something myself. Yeh, I’m weird. I loudly admit this fact. I rarely experience buyer’s remorse because of this, though!

Sexier Than Jeans: 5 Pairs Of Faux Leather Pants I’d Wear Anytime

Julieta has already done a brilliant job at showcasing how she wears a leather jogger, and well, now here I am. “Fashionably late” as always (translation: slow) with some good old at-home selfies. I was happy to find five pairs of faux leather pants (that are still in stock!), all of which I can stand behind…or in. ha ha. By that I mean, I would actually wear them on a regular basis and not just for that very, very random night out.

I tried each pair on with the same shoes and shirt. My reasoning behind that was I want to give you a good look at the pants themselves. Also, wearing the same flats with each may show you where they hit on a leg (a long one, btw. I am 5’10). I do plan on a follow-up post in my favorite pair, in order to show you how I style faux leather pants. Maybe you can guess which are my absolute favorite?

I hope this little guide helps you find the faux leather leather pants of your dreams…or something like that.

1. H&M Faux Leather Pleated High Waist

These are beautiful. I love the ultra-high waist with pleating! On my tall frame, it’s more of a cropped pant, but it doesn’t feel awkwardly short (all you tall gals know what I mean). Now, it is important to note that this is a pair you may need to go up one whole size in — if not two. I am wearing a 28 here but could have easily worn a 29. The waist, specifically where you zip and clip it closed, is a really tight fit. Even with that being the case, I am a big fan of these.

2. Levi’s Faux Leather Ribcage Straight Leg

Oh, yes. Levi’s, Levi’s, Levi’s. You just get me. These feel GREAT on. They weren’t tight, which gave me a casual, more relaxed look and feel. I am so happy with the length, as well! For being vegan leather, they do not look cheap and are really soft and comfortable. I am impressed! Not surprised, though, considering Levi’s has been my jam these past few years. I’d pair these babies with a graphic tee and a fun jacket (cough cough Shacket).

3. BlankNYC Button-Front Faux Leather Skinny Pants

These are just plain hot. Grease vibes? You won’t have to have them sewed on you, though! lol. The buttons on front, the rise, the length, the way they make my bum look…all good things. These would look FANTASTIC with a slouchy sweater.

4. Lucy Paris Paperbag-Waist Pants

Let me start out by saying…I think I needed one size down. They look a bit baggy up top, yeh? That said, I would then be concerned that the thigh and calf area would be too tight. hmmm. I do love the color. Also, a paper-bag waist with tie belt is such a fun style to play around with, since it is more polished and formal looking. I’d add in more casual elements — graphic tee, sneakers denim jacket or maybe even utility-style. So, all that said…I believe these are worth a try on (if not a keep).

5. Blank Denim Vegan Leather Moto Pants

Last, but not least…these super-cool moto pants. I suddenly felt like I needed a motorcycle and that my husband should grow out his hair into a man bun. It would only make sense. Seriously, though. I like these, BUT they are a bit of a low rise. I have to warn you, these are the pants that I’d wear with a longer, slouchy sweater or oversized(-ish) white button-down. Apart from the rise, the fit through the leg and bum was spot on. I also like the zipper at the ankles, because it can be fun to wear them unzipped!

  1. Wow; you read my mind! I bought a couple pairs of faux leather leggings and now I’m on the hunt for pants. Thank you SO much for your review, Cam!! It’s tough to decide, because they’re all tempting. The moto ones and Levi’s take the cake for me. Also the Blank NYC ones. Oh … dangit. Maybe they’re all my favorite? They ALL look great on you! Can’t wait to see them styled later on!

  2. Love the Levi’s pair! I’ve been looking for a pair of faux leather jeans since last year. These might be the answer to my search!

  3. Welp, I didn’t think I needed a pair of these faux leather pants. And then I saw the H & M pair and now I’m obsessed. Damn, thanks. They are so cool!
