Once in a while, a pair of jeans come into your life…and changes it.
Ha — no.
BUT, these Veronica Beard jeans are f—ing amazing. In fact, those were my exact words to Shana when I was telling her about them. I was like, “Shana, you have to try these jeans. They’re f*$#ing amazing.” And she was like, “that’s what you should call your post.”
And I was like, “f*ck yeah, I will!”

PSA: These Veronica Beard Flares Are Sexy As Hell
Seriously though, these Veronica Beard High-Rise Skinny flares are by far, without a doubt, my number one favorite pair of jeans in my closet. (And I don’t think I need to tell you I have tried a lot of jeans.) From the second I first put them on, they just felt perfect. They stretch and mold to your shape and the high-waist/skinny top/flare bottom is such a good silhouette. They are amazing for showing off your booty curves.

These jeans do run small. I originally ordered a 28, my usual size, and while they were decidedly too small when I tried them on, I could tell by the fit and fabric that once I sized up they’d be amazing. So I exchanged them for a 29 and they were perfect. In fact, I’ve actually fluctuated in weight quite a bit (hello, stress!) while I’ve had them and they’ve always looked good thanks to the stretch.

And although I usually just hack off the bottoms of my jeans, these were an investment I didn’t want to ruin by attempting to shorten them myself, so I did get them professionally hemmed. (OMG I need to do that more, it makes such a difference!) The original inseam was 34,” and now they’re right around a 32″; I would have had to wear crazy high heels every time I wore them if I didn’t get them hemmed.

How I’m Styling These New Flattering Flares
I have to say I’m loving the navy boots lately. I feel like black would be a bit too harsh and tan or white would detract from the bright sweater, but the navy color gives a nice leg-lengthening look and highlights the fit of the jeans. The Eileen Fisher booties I’m wearing are currently sold out, but these Marc Fisher booties are almost the same color and would achieve the same look.

By the way, I’m SO glad I tried this new cashmere cardigan from J. Crew. The cropped length and deep-v neckline makes it perfect for layering, and I kind of love the peek-a-boo buttons. Although I could layer it over a cami of the same color, I love layering it over my go-to “brami” cami from Hanro (seriously I wear this thing ALL the time — 100% worth every penny) for a bit of a sexier look.

I mean, I actually feel tall when I wear these jeans, and I’m only 5’4″. That’s pretty impressive, Veronica.
