When it comes to the world of plus-size fashion, there are two things I find to be a challenge:

The first is finding truly trendy clothes that aren’t from fast-fashion brands. The second is finding plus-size designers that have sustainability initiatives within their companies.

And while the plus-size fashion industry is definitely having an identity crisis and still has so much work to do, there are quite a few amazing high-end designers that have entered the world of plus-size fashion. And they’re making waves on the runways and in real life.

Trendy Plus-Size Clothing That Isn’t Fast Fashion: 5 Inclusive Designers Worth Knowing

I consider myself fortunate to own pieces from most of these brands. These designers are creating impeccable pieces that can be such a rarity to find when it comes to plus-size clothing.

I’m so excited to see how plus-size fashion evolves over the next few years and absolutely love the brands in this roundup.

Let’s get into it.

I look for 2 things in plus-size clothing: trendy pieces that aren't fast fashion + inclusive, ethical brands. From WRAY to Selkie, these 5 designers are winning.

BAACAL | WRAY | MARA HOFFMAN | HANIFA | SELKIE

1. BAACAL

BAACAL was one of the first luxury designers that I learned of a few years ago. The brand sells trendy yet timeless staples for the office and date night. I personally own one of BAACAL’s gorgeous trench jackets and absolutely love wearing it over pretty dresses and all-black ensembles.

BAACAL’s businesswear collection is unmatched when it comes to luxury plus-size fashion, and I have several pieces from its most recent collection in my wish list of things to add to my closet.

2. WRAY

I had the luxury of trying WRAY clothing IRL when I was in New York for Fashion Week. WRAY is a slow-fashion and ethically conscious brand that features “influences from sculpture, painting and beyond to create clothes which are focused on both form and function.”

WRAY has some seriously iconic loungewear pieces that look great when hanging out at home and just as good for a fun day date. And the checkered lounge set above looks gorgeous when styled separately too!

3. Mara Hoffman

Where To Shop: Mara Hoffman at ShopBop | Nordstrom | Revolve | NET-A-PORTER

If you’re searching for luxe vacation wear, then Mara Hoffman is where you should look. Mara Hoffman’s “popcorn” collection is gorgeous and was adorned by one of the most iconic celebs, Beyonce.

Mara Hoffman founded the brand in 2000, and ever since, the brand has been committed to responsible and ethical practices. I personally love the vibrancy of Mara Hoffman clothing, and both myself and Shana are big fans of Mara Hoffman swimsuits as well.

4. Hanifa

Hanifa makes seriously cool clothing that’ll have others doing a double take and asking you where your ‘fit is from. Not only is the brand size-inclusive, it’s also Black-founded and -owned. The street-style, vacation and everyday looks on Hanifa’s site are so freaking epic.

I want every. single. thing. that Hanifa designs, and my deep obsession for this maxi dress is at an all-time high. I’ve been fantasizing about wearing this ombre dress to some bomb af event this spring and summer — it’s just so incredibly beautiful.

5. Selkie

Selkie gives me all the “Bridgerton” vibes. When I attended NYFW last season, it had one of the most stunning shows, and its diversity on the runway was unmatched.

If you are looking for oh-so-pretty dresses to make you feel like you're in a period film, then check out Selkie.
