A good bodysuit can go the distance. The hard part is actually finding a good bodysuit.
Over the last year or so I feel as though I took a thousand bodysuits for a spin (exaggerating, obviously, but it was a lot). What became glaringly apparent is that not all bottom clasps are created equal. Actually, most of them felt uncomfortable for me to wear for long periods of time, and some were clearly made so poorly that it felt as though the snap closures would break after one wear (oh wait, some actually DID break). And if I did happen to stumble upon a good bottom closure? The upper body would fit me weirdly. Ugh.
So when I finally tried the Fits Everybody Camisole Thong Bodysuit from SKIMS last fall, I felt as though I had struck ACTUAL GOLD.

SKIMS Fits Everybody Cami Bodysuit Unlocks New Summer Outfits
Listen, I get it: bodysuits aren’t everyone’s cup of tea.
You do, in fact, need to be carefree about the bathroom situation when wearing one — whether pulling the entire suit up and down every time nature calls or doing the pull-to-the-side trick. If you’re not into either of those options, I’m not here to convince you to do it.
But if you’re like me and love the comfort, security, and seamless outfits that can be created with a bodysuit, I’m telling you, this one from SKIMS is one of the best (and easily the most versatile I’ve found). It’s the kind of staple I own in multiple colors.

What feels the most magical about the Fits Everybody Bodysuit is I can wear it without a bra (the outfit above with my favorite sweatshirt thrown over the top?! BLISS). After being pregnant and nursing, I’m someone who never goes without a bra. This bodysuit actually works great in situations when a top doesn’t work with any of my bras but I’m still in need of some coverage.
The material of SKIMS Fits Everybody material is wildly stretchy — more so than you would even think. It holds me in to feel confident and comfortable while still being very breathable. The fabric is on the thinner side, which is lovely for summer heat, but when I’m wearing a lighter color and wearing it as my top alone, I like to wear reusable nipple covers underneath.
Because of that beautiful stretchy material, I’d say the sizing is pretty flexible, even for those with longer torsos. I typically wear a size large in clothing that’s fitted but prefer a medium in this bodysuit for the extra hold in my upper body.
3 Ways I’m Wearing A Bodysuit In Summer
The SKIMS bodysuit was on heavy rotation for me in the winter, but now that warmer weather is here I’ve been surprised to find myself reaching for it just as much. Here are the three ways I’m rocking the Fits Everybody Cami Bodysuit the most!
1. With Cut-Offs

Does anyone else find total fun and freedom in rocking their bathing suits with shorts all day long? It’s one of my favorite go-to’s if I’m spending any part of the day at the beach, but when I don’t have beach plans and still want that same carefree outfit, this bodysuit gives me the same look and feel as a swimsuit.

I love this look two ways: clean and simple with just the bodysuit and shorts (if that sunshine is sizzlin’), or layering with an oversized button-up shirt for added texture. The Summer Daydream Tunic from Free People has been a staple in my wardrobe for multiple years, but I couldn’t resist this new blue color when I saw it for summer!
2. Under A Sundress

I’ve been wearing this bodysuit for months and I’m still always in awe when I pull it on and feel the support it gives me. I’ve even been known to restructure my entire outfit just so I can wear the bodysuit and ditch my bra (on multiple occasions, actually).
The straps are thin enough that they are easily disguised under tank tops and sundresses, especially if you own a color that matches your skin tone. Initially, I wondered if the straps were too thin and wouldn’t be able to hold up with wear and wash — but after months of both, the straps are still going strong without any problems.

The Abene Dress from Reformation is my ultimate sundress. I love that it’s light and flowy yet full-length (plus fully lined). And you wouldn’t believe how soft it is! I’ve been wearing it around in the daytime but also out for date nights — and it comes in black too. GULP.

Most recently, I discovered that the bodysuit is a lifesaver when rocking a bad sunburn (as seen in all of these photos, dang it). A tight bra is the last thing I want to strap on with achy skin, but this bodysuit? Actually relieving.
3. Under A Cropped Sweater (Or Any Tricky Top)

Any top that can sometimes feel difficult for me to wear, be it a cropped sweater (or anything cropped), an open-knit top, something sheer, or anything with a plunging neck/back, is now so much easier to pull off if I just throw on this bodysuit underneath.
The bodysuit feels like a second skin, allowing any tricky top to still lay as it was intended to while having total coverage. I still feel comfortable and confident no matter what is showing.

I originally ordered this Barbour Mariner Cardigan thinking it could be worn buttoned, slouchy and oversized. But even though I ordered one size larger than my normal tops, the sweater turned out to be pretty dang cropped. I almost put it straight back in the box, until I decided to throw it on with the bodysuit in black. It became totally different than I originally pictured, but OH, so good!
