It’s no secret that I love a little glam, and summertime is no different. Beach glam doesn’t have to be hard – a few key accessories can make your go-to beach look downright fancy. (Think: vacation.) There are a few go-to’s I’ve had for years now: a black maxi cover-up that can easily go from the pool to drinks, a bold red lipstick that can take a no-makeup look to the next level…And my newest find? These Bose sunglasses. They’re just as functional as they are chic.

I first asked you guys about Bose sunglasses back in 2020 when I was looking for a gift for my (hard-to-buy-for) husband. Those of you who had them LOVED them, but it wasn’t until we were able to try them on in-store for ourselves that we realized just how good these babies are. Zack and I were both blown away by the incredible sound quality. From soft and quiet, to loud and booming, these speakers sound crisp, clear and even have some serious bass – despite their small size.

He liked the larger Tenor frames on his face and I liked the smaller Soprano frames – to be honest, I was kind of shocked that they actually looked good on, and I’ve been wanting them ever since I first heard music through them. I just wasn’t sure if I wanted to spend that much money on a pair of sunglasses. (Spoiler alert: they’re worth it.)

I started wearing my earbuds more and more on our trip to North Carolina. Whether I was listening to a podcast in the car, or to music while I was running, I was wearing them enough that they would start to hurt my ears – not to mention the fact that they’d slide out the second I started sweating. I’ve always had a hard time finding a comfortable pair of earbuds (my ears are oddly small), so I finally bit the bullet and bought the sunglasses I’ve been wanting for years now – and they’re 100% worth every penny.
It’s hard to imagine a pair of sunglasses that look good, sound good, and are actually comfortable to wear all at the same time, but Bose 100% pulled it off. They’re lightweight – I can wear them while running without them slipping down my face – and are comfortable to wear for long periods of time (unlike my earbuds). They let my ears breathe (is that a thing?) and allow me to hear background sounds while I’m listening to music/podcasts/talking on the phone, etc.
And speaking of talking on the phone, I love that you can have a clear, hands-free conversation with these. (I tested them out with my mom and now she wants a pair!) The microphone can also integrate with Siri/Google Assistant/and the free Bose Connect app.
They charge via a little magnetic USB cable that attaches to the inside of the arm – and one charge lasts over 5 hours. The volume turns up and down on the side of the arm – it’s so nice being able to do everything hands-free and without having something inside my ear.
They have different lenses, too (and are prescription-compatible). I swapped out the black lenses for the rose gold lens (below) and was surprised by how easy it was to change them. Pop them out from the inside corner, and pop the lenses back in from the front. I thought the packaging made for a great gift as well – perfect for Mother’s Day or Father’s Day!

Speaking of worth it (not to mention Mother’s Day gifts!) this Gucci lipstick…oh. My. God. It is absolutely heavenly. The packaging is beautiful and gift-worthy, but the formula itself is absolutely luxurious. I’ve never worn a matte finish lipstick that felt this good – it glides on effortlessly and doesn’t dry out lips like most mattes. It comes in THIRTY beautiful colors (including 5 different reds – I’m wearing constance vermillion here) and has amazing reviews because it’s SO good.
While wearing a ton of makeup to the beach isn’t really ideal, there’s nothing like a bright red lip to turn a no-makeup look into a Look. Put on some sunscreen (Supergoop!’s Unseen Sunscreen is my favorite), throw on some lipstick and you’re ready for anything.
I also have to shout out my favorite cover-up of all time of all time. I love love love this cover up – it’s insanely comfortable due to the soft, lightweight fabric, adjustable straps and pockets! It’s elegant and classy and perfect for summer or vacations anytime. (It’s also maternity-, post-partum-, and nursing-friendly!)
