A few weeks ago, we had some chatter on Slack about summer country concerts.
Turns out, we have a few country music fans in our midst, and they were quick to pull together some outfit ideas for a fun summer night out. Laura lived in Nashville for years, and Jess is originally from Texas! So, naturally, those two have their looks down pat.
As for the rest of us?
Well, let’s just say we’d appreciate a good honky tonk night if given the chance. Laurel even promised us our own TME line dance, so we might hold her to it.

In our little roundup (pretend John Dutton just said that — not me), we’ve got some great cowboy boots, of course. And even a denim-on-denim miniskirt look with sneakers. We’ve got Scotti to thank for that one. So good.

Laura’s Concert Outfit: A Leather Midi Skirt, Cowboy Boots + A Graphic Tee

Depending on the time of year, I’d swap the faux-leather skirt out for denim or jersey, but to me, it’s the combo of a black skirt with the cowboy boots that keeps it feeling a little less country and a little more rock ‘n’ roll, *wink*. Any favorite graphic tee will do!
Scotti’s Concert Outfit: Denim On Denim + White Sneakers

I’ve been looking for a chambray shirt for a couple of years now, and this denim button-up from Gap is pretty darn perfect. I like the idea of wearing nothing underneath it, but…thaaaat’s not really going to happen (especially at a concert with dancing involved), so my go-to Hanro cami underneath helps create that look without actually revealing too much. Also…this low-rise denim skirt. Pretty sure I had one exactly like it in the early 2000s…LOVE.
Amy’s Concert Outfit: A Summer Dress & White Cowgirl Boots

Normally I’d grab a pair of cutoff denim shorts, a graphic tee (probably one of these, obviously), and pull on my beloved Tecovas boots — but then, this little lightweight summer dress from Free People found its way into my closet (actually a present from my husband — he’s so good at shopping). The dress is equal parts twirly and soft and looks great with a denim jacket thrown over it (even more colors of the dress here)!
Jess’ Concert Outfit: A Crochet Midi Dress + Statement Cowboy Boots

When the idea for this post was first brought up in a meeting, I was like “yeeehaw!” I mean, I did grow up in Texas, after all. But I haven’t bought a pair of actual cowboy boots since, like, the third grade (and those were pink and covered in glitter). So, I was super-excited, especially after I found these Dolce Vita boots and my country concert outfit finally came together.

For a country concert, the first thing I’m doing is starting with my easy-to-clean + oh-so-comfy cowboy boots and my favorite statement belt from Nashville. These two pieces together make any outfit look country-concert-ready. I paired them with my new Gap cutoff shorts + a lightweight, flowy long-sleeve top because I somehow always end up cold.
