Frosé & Chill: Slide Sandals & The Drink Of The Summer

Friends, I have been living in these cloud slides lately, including while making and enjoying quick summer recipes you can file under Easy-‘Cause-Blender. This new Ninja Storm blender is perfect for throwing together my drink of the summer: frosé. In case you’re not familiar, that’s frozen + rosé. (You can also make it a non-alchoholic granita aka healthy slushy).

The Best Blender!? Ninja Storm Is The Light & Quiet Blender for Everything

Ah, blenders. There are SO many on the market and so much hype about all of them. Let me get straight to what I like about this great little Ninja Blender (besides being on promo for $35).

  • MUCH lighter than my other blender — no heavy base to lift out of the cabinet
  • Superb blending and food processing capabilities — 450 watt, 4 blade technology — easily blends ice, frozen berries and dates
  • Easy to clean
  • Quiet (thank you!)
  • Lid included to store or serve drinks and sauces directly out of the blender

Generally speaking, I’m not a year-round smoothie drinker, so I never got into the world super high-priced, high-powered blenders. But I have tried out a couple of options — they were just…okay. But gah, so loud, so heavy.

This Ninja Storm Food & Drink Maker is so impressive so far. It's got the capacity to blend what I need for the 3 of us without a huge heavy base.

This little Ninja Storm Food & Drink Maker is so impressive so far. It’s got the capacity to blend what I need for the three of us without a huge heavy base. Since I’m usually making a couple of drinks at a time, the occasional smoothie bowl, or a sauce to go with a meal, I really don’t need a giant appliance. But the Ninja Storm holds way more than the single-serving smoothie blenders. So, I moved my big blender to the basement — we’ll see if I ever pull it out again.

I am excited to have this new little guy be the daily workhorse. I do love my kitchen gadgets but I need them all to serve multiple purposes. This powerful, quiet blender fits the bill, and has joined my kitchen essentials list.

This blender not only easily blended up my yummy watermelon-strawberry frosé but it had no problem with my new favorite snack-blend: date & peanut butter caramel. (Yes, it is as good as it sounds… the basic recipes are below!)

Beach Slides By J/Slides Are All I Want To Wear Right Now

Ok, now that we’ve got something to drink, let’s talk comfy footwear. There’s nothing like finding a pair of summer shoes that feels like walking on clouds.

I know pillow slides may not be everybody’s cup of tea but I LOVE THEM. I had a different pair before but the toe-box was a little narrow. I got these J/Slides Beach Slides (on promo for under $30!) and they are perfect. They are insanely cushiony and fun, modern, and waterproof. It’s all I really need in a casual summer sandal, honestly.

Watermelon Strawberry Frosé Recipe

You can also make this as a N/A, not-to-sweet delicious granita or slushie!

About 3 cups watermelon, sliced and frozen
1-1/2 cups frozen strawberries
Juice of 2 small limes, plus slices for garnishing
1 cup sparkling rosé (or sparkling water for N/A option)

Blend frozen watermelon, frozen strawberries and lime juice (add a little bit of water if necessary) in the Ninja Storm Blender. First, pulse the fruit to chop it up. Then, hold down to blend and smooth. Taste and adjust lime/fruit as needed. Switch out the blender top for the serving lid to easily move from kitchen to porch, or wherever you want to serve your frosé. Pour/spoon into glasses about 1/2 – 3/4 full and top with sparkling rosé. Garnish with lime slices. Enjoy!

Date & Peanut Butter Caramel Recipe

An yummy, easy, no-bake treat for hot summer days when you don’t want that oven on.

8 – 10 pitted Medjool dates
Boiling water
1/2 cup peanut butter
2 tsp Vanilla extract (or to taste)
Pinch of salt

Boil enough water to cover the dates. Let the dates sit in the water for 10 minutes. Set aside some of the soaking liquid. Place dates, peanut butter, vanilla and salt in the Ninja Storm Blender. Pulse a few times to mix and chop the ingredients, then blend until smooth, adding soaking liquid as needed. Spread on toast, rice cakes, banana bread (or just bananas!) and top with peanuts, mini chocolate chips, and/or toasted coconut pieces. Yum!

Oh hey, Pinners! This one’s for you…
