On the hunt for summer denim? A pair of light wash jeans to wear with flirty little tops? Jeans that feel fresh and on-trend, but aren’t too over the top? Soft, slightly stretchy pants that are comfortable, but keep their shape? Oh — and aren’t too hot for summer? (Anyone else getting Goldilocks vibes?)

I mean, when it comes to finding the “perfect” pair of jeans, I guess I do feel a little like Goldilocks. It is hard to find the pair that are juuuust right.

But — I found them.

PAIGE’s Leena High Waist Wide Leg Jeans and they’re phenomenal. (You can thank me later.)

Sure, I love my high-rise, rigid, dark-wash denim, but in the summer I want to lighten things up. I crave softer jeans to go with all the flirty, floral tops & I revel in rocking flare jeans with all the platform sandals I can get my hands on (or feet in, ha!).

A Surefire Summer Outfit Featuring Flawless Wide-Leg Jeans

Sure, I love my high-rise, rigid, dark-wash denim, but in the summer I want to lighten things up. I crave softer jeans to go with all the flirty, floral tops that feel very decidedly summer. And unlike the winter, when I worry about my pant cuffs getting wet in the snow, summer is my time to rock flare jeans with all the platform sandals I can get my hands on.

Light Wash? Check. High Waist? Yup. Figure Flattering? 100.

These PAIGE wide-leg jeans are so soft, you have to feel ’em for yourself — there’s zero break-in time needed. They’re comfy from the second you put them on. And although there’s a hint of stretch for the comfiest (and most flattering) fit, these jeans don’t stretch out throughout the day. They just mold to my curves and stretch where they need to without losing their shape.

I usually try to steer clear of a button-fly, but this is probably one of the best I’ve ever tried on a pair of jeans; it didn’t seem to add extra bulk to that area and was really comfy thanks to the stretchy fabric. And while the rise is technically considered “high,” at 10.5 inches, it’s definitely on the lower end of high-rises.

My favorite part (aside from the uber-comfortable denim) is that the back rise is actually 14 inches...which is great for curves. My butt is totally covered without too much excess fabric in front & my waist is defined without being squeezed.

These jeans are the perfect pairing for tops that are slightly cropped (without flashing any skin).

Platform Sandals Are Perfect To Pair With Wide-Leg Jeans

I’m loving the entire ’70s vibe of these jeans, especially when they’re paired with fun sandals like these. I LOVE these wooden platforms and the height they give me without the crazy angle. And even though they’re high, they feel really sturdy and comfy despite the heel. A word of warning, though: they run really narrow across the front of the feet. They felt tight when I first put them on, but stretched out and molded right to my foot with a tiny bit of wear. (And they’re on sale up to 40% off right now!)

A Must-Have Sunhat Is Giving All The Timeless Vibes (+ Sun Protection)

Now…we have to talk about this hat.

I tried it on in-store and was 100% going to buy it — until I saw the price tag. So I left it… then proceeded to think about it for weeks, until I finally just ordered it online (I saw that reviewers love it just as much as I now do).

This straw hat is a very special hat. The construction is unmatched, and it's lightweight & comfortable. It blocks 95% of UVA and UVB rays & can be molded + shaped how you want it to lay. It's a splurge, but one of the best hats I've ever tried.

I could feel the quality the minute I took it out of the box. This sunhat is truly a forever piece — it’s chic and classic, and so well-made it really should last a lifetime. I can just feel the difference with this hat. (It comes in a number of colors, too; I’m wearing peanut here.)

Add A Not-Quite-Cropped Floral Top…Get Ready For Compliments

Lastly, there’s also this affordable floral top from O’Neill. It’s lightweight, comfy, and the front has an adjustable drawcord on the bust. The hemline can be shortened by pulling it tighter, or lengthened by leaving it looser, which makes it easy to hit that not-quite-cropped length that feels fresh but still comfortable. And I love the square-shaped back!

  1. Thanks for this post, Scotti.

Can you please comment on how the hat stands up after getting wet? I’ve gone through toooooo many amazing straw hats that are simply too floppy after they get mildly wet at the beach. How does this one hold up?
