When living in a town that has extreme winters featuring negative temperatures and snowstorms, while also having picturesque summers with temps that sit in the 70s, it wouldn’t be surprising that a local’s closet is vast with all sorts of clothing.
These strong, punctuated seasons can make organizing a wardrobe quite the headache, especially if you have limited space to work with.
But as someone who lives in such a town, I can attest to their being one major article of clothing that projects main character energy throughout every single season. And that, my friends, is a good pair of jeans.
My New Favorite Jeans Are The Base Of My Go-To Summer Outfit
Denim, as a whole, is the unicorn of my wardrobe, and a good pair of jeans is truly a closet workhorse.
They’re my go-to choice when I have to brave winter snowstorms, while also my first choice for summer brunch dates. For that reason alone, I know that when I find a fantastic pair of jeans, they will be worth their weight in gold.
I mean, talk about an epic cost-per-wear.
Lately, I find myself reaching the most for the jeans that are slightly oversized. I have been favoring denim that has a loose waistband as opposed to a fitted one, and while not quite baggy, the jeans have a slouchy element to them. My most recent gem of a find is the 90’s supermodel-inspired Le Jane Crop By FRAME (check out the post where I first try them on!).

Even though temperatures are still doing the springtime dance, I’m already finding a favorite way to style up my Le Jane Crop jeans that I plan to repeat alllll summer long.
Summer Outfit Inspo: Good Jeans + A Crop Top, A Button-Down & A Fun Pair Of Sandals
I have always been an oversized tee kind of person, but lately I’ve fallen quite hard for button-down tops.

Button-downs have a chic element to them, and they are incredibly versatile. The Happy Hour Solid Poplin Top I recently scooped up has the most delightful (albeit somewhat spunky) puffy sleeves. It’s a design element that I think gives a little edge to an otherwise classic top.
While I’m not someone who typically rocks a crop top all alone, I have started a little collection of them, as they have proven to be unbeatable for layering.

On the days when the sunshine comes out and the temps do begin to rise, I love styling a fitted crop underneath a button-down. The combination is wonderfully breezy and easy.
Layering the two tops is a simple way I have found to incorporate the latest crop top trend without feeling like I’m exposing more skin than I’m comfortable with.

A good button-down can easily stand alone, too.
I love finding tops with a burst of color and unique buttons, of which the Happy Hour Solid Poplin has both. The button-down is made from a crisp, classic material that makes for easy tucking and rolling of the sleeves.
It’s an added bonus that the shirt matches my Birkenstock Arizona Big Buckle sandals perfectly (which, I’ll admit, I may or may not have purposefully been hunting for… I love a good matching moment)!

FRAME’s Le Jane Crop are very flattering straight-leg jeans with just the right amount of slouch, but my favorite element is that they feature a mostly classic wash with a whisper of distressing around the hips. The distressing is so subtle that you almost don’t even notice it, which, in my opinion, makes them incredibly cool.
The jeans also come with a raw hem (my personal fave), making them easy to cut to your desired length if necessary.

I always say that I’m not a gal who dresses with outfit formulas in mind, and instead dress according to my mood…butttt I have a pretty good feeling this will be my mood all summer long!
