It’s technically springtime, but as I woke up this morning we were greeted with a lovely little snowstorm. At any moment we’ll have sunny skies and temps in the 50s because, well, that’s just northern Michigan for you.
I’m always tired of my winter sweaters and boots by this point, but naturally, it’s not quite time to slip into shorts and sandals. So where do I turn when I’m craving something light and fresh but still springtime appropriate?

A Sustainable Jumpsuit That Seriously Delivers (+ How I’m Styling It)
I love a good jumpsuit. They are one-and-done outfit-makers that require zero thought, and yet you still end up looking totally put together when rocking one.
The S.E.A Jumpsuit from Outerknown is a mixture of organic cotton and linen. It’s soft, lightweight, and easy to pull on and off thanks to the extra longline of buttons. It also comes in a slew of gorgeous, natural colors.
It’s plenty long enough for my 5’9″ frame, but is even cute with the pant legs rolled up. My favorite part is the tabs at the back waist, allowing you to slightly customize the shape you want for your waistline!
1. The Outerknown Jumpsuit Is Easy To Dress Up
I personally think a favorite jumpsuit is just as easy to style up as a pair of jeans. I love making it a bit fancier with strategic shoe and bag choices (anyone else loving western boots these days?!).

When wearing the jumpsuit like this, I also love to keep a few extra buttons open up top so as to show off a stack of necklaces.
2. …But It’s Also Perfect For Everyday Comfort
Of course, it’s completely easy to keep this jumpsuit ultra-comfy by pairing it with the Pinterest-popular “UGG slipper mules” (the comfort of a slipper with a trendy platform sole) and even throwing on a summery hoodie over top.

This hoodie from Vuori is divine. It’s easily going to be my Hoodie Of The Summer with its super-soft organic french terry interior. Throwing on a top layer makes it look as though you have on a really cute pair of trousers, which gives you even more wearability out of this piece.
3. And This Jumpsuit Layers Well, Too
As I said before, this is truly a one-and-done outfit, and on those chilly days it’s easy to throw the S.E.A. Suit on with a long windbreaker for running errands or heading to the park with your kiddo.

Why We’re Big Fans Of The Brand Outerknown
The brand that makes this jumpsuit, Outerknown, is a particular favorite of mine. My husband and I are big-time fans of their founder, Kelly Slater (greatest surfer of all time). His passion for the ocean is what fuels his commitment to sustainability, and while Outerknown admits to not having it all figured out, they’ve pushed the standard for sustainability in the industry and believe in always choosing the most responsible path.

Ninety percent of Outerknown clothing fibers are organic, recycled or regenerated (their swim trunks specifically are 100% (which would make a great gift for the men in your life)). They were the first brand to pursue Fair Labor Association accreditation before ever shipping a product, and the first to launch ECONYL® clothing (turning fishing nets into endlessly regenerative fibers).
Outerknown also worked hard at finding transparent and responsible manufacturing partners who follow strict guidelines of safety and working conditions by the Fair Labor Association, Bluesign and Fair Trade.

All of these quality standards means you’re going to pay a bit more for their products, but Kelly Slater and his partners felt the investment was not only worth it, but that people would get behind it. I can personally attest to being extremely giddy when they finally launched their women’s apparel a few short years ago!

Here’s to easy outfit makers that are also easier on our planet!

Amy
Let’s be friends on Instagram! Sharing life from my sleepy little beach town, daily style, makeup favorites, Gilmore Girl binge-athons, and endless cups of coffee – all with a good dose of adorable toddler content, too.
I love all the jumpsuits! would you ever try to tie the sleeves of a jumpsuit around your waist kind of like a paperbag waist look? I feel like Gwen Stefani might be the only person who can pull it off….
Woaahh I’ve never seen that but now I totally am going to google it, that sounds like a rad styling idea!
What size are you wearing?
Medium
Love these looks Amy! I’m also 5’9″ and am wondering what size you got in the jumpsuit? Thanks!
I’m wearing a medium!
I bet it looks great on you! Being tall must be so nice when it comes to jumpsuits. I’m short but I’m obsessed! I can’t stop buying either jumpsuits or workwear overalls. Old Navy recently had denim coveralls in several colors for $59! Honestly I don’t know how they made any money on those- they’re so well made! Love your photos-I’m a photographer myself. This last one of you is super cute! If you do try the styling trick I’d love to see it. I bet it’s one of those weird ones that just works.
