Hello again, everyone! Sydney here with your Week 2 recap of our Style Challenge happening over on Instagram (@themomedit). This week went just as well as last week, and OMG ya’ll are killing this challenge! It’s so awesome seeing people hitting every challenge each day (and I’m impressed at your willpower to get out of PJs)! Now that we’re deep into Week 2, I’m curious how you guys like this style challenge? Do you like it more than last year’s “one challenge each week” format? Let me know down in the comments!
February TME Reader Style Challenge Week 2
Keep tagging @themomedit on Instagram and be sure to use the hashtag #TMEStyleChallenge to make sure we see your submissions! Congrats to Caress (aka @caresswearsclothes_ on IG) for being the winner this week! We’ll be in touch!
Day 8: Style A White Button-Down
If you’re anything like me you love a good white button-down, but the struggle has always been finding one that fits both the girls AND your broad shoulders (thanks mom and dad). If you’re not like me, you can get a gorgeous white button-down to drape perfectly and work with almost anything. I’ll sit here in my jealousy of all of you styling up your button-downs…and wait for sweatshirt day to come.
Day 9: Show Us Your Fav House Shoes
The house shoes have really made a powerful comeback in my household with cold floors and 20+ inches of snow. I am currently doubled down on socks and slippers at all times and now I want to buy like…20 new pairs of slippers scrolling through all these submissions. Thank youuuuuuu!
Day 10: Monochromatic Head-To-Toe
This is 100% more my speed. As a connoisseur of wearing all black, my closet was specially engineered for this style challenge. My hat is off to any of you who took on a full outfit of bright color or an all white/ivory look. The chic-ness of it all! I feel like there’s something so fresh about a monochromatic look. But I also always wanted to add a bright pop of color to an all black outfit…so I may have cheated and thrown on my cherry red Dr. Martens.
Day 11: Mix Animal Prints
*Insert a Wild Thing reference* I found this challenge to be a little tough. Not just any print will play nice with any other print. With a little trial and error though, two animal prints mixed can really make an outfit. Pair a cheetah print top with some distressed denim, zebra hightops, and the tiniest ponytail you ever did see and you got yourself a LOOK.
Day 12: Style Up A Hoodie
MY DAY! The perfect cozy up day where I let myself keep my PJ pants on and tossed on a sweatshirt like the stay-at-home goblin I am. But sweatshirts don’t have to just be an on the couch, Netflix and chill piece (like chill….not the other kind of chill). We can take comfy af and make it fashion! And so many of you did just that.
Day 13: Date Night In
Ahhhh date night. It was fun seeing all the glammed up looks in the hashtag! I caught myself hunting down a few pairs of heels that made my heart beat a little faster, just ohhing and ahhhing over them a bit before closing the laptop for fear of buying them. As a single pringle I took this day to dress up for myself. Boss bitch style and all that. And at the end of the day I also dressed down for myself like a few of you did. PJ date night is hot right now, okay.
Day 14: Wear Red + Pink Together
It was beautiful seeing the timeline filled with so much love! Red and pink dominated the day and it really set the Valentine’s Day mood right from the get-go. I flung my closet open only to discover I don’t own any pink….so I blasted “Hooked on a Feeling” and ate some pink cookies while wearing this red knife shirt from Nooworks. We’re gonna call it close enough on this one.
Just a reminder for this week of challenges! Lot’s of cardigan action towards the end of the week, huh? Keep tagging @themomedit and using the hashtag #TMEStyleChallenge each day to make sure we see your entry! Another winner will be chosen next week to win a $50 gift card (chosen at random).
