We get so many questions about Golden Goose sneakers, and while we *do* like them (and for good reason), I can’t help but feel that they’ve had their moment in the sun.
So if you’re in the market for sneakers that hit that sort of nonchalantly cool vibe of the Golden Goose, but are maybe looking for something sustainable or affordable or something that has more street cred or even a pair that gives French-girl vibes…watch our latest YouTube for my top recommendations and full outfit details.
Below are the six other pairs of sneakers from the video I’d recommend over Golden Goose. Not all of these sneakers are budget-friendly, but they are fresh, fun alternatives. (And for my entire list — all 10 pairs of Golden Goose alternatives —see this post.)
1. P448 Thea Sneakers
These P448s have got that cushy all-around platform for that extra bit of height (and are honestly way comfier than Golden Goose). They look perfect with skirts, dresses, shorts, pants — truly anything. (I think it’s that thick, squishy sole that makes it look just a tad more fancy). The only downside is that a lot of styles have been detailed with lots of glitter, texture and fabric that make a plain style a little harder to come by.
2. Oliver Cabell Low 1 Epoch Sneakers
Incredibly comfy and SO good. If you’re head over heels for that stylish distressed vibe, this pair of Oliver Cabell sneakers is for you. They’re so well-made at a pretty good price point. (Remember we’re comparing to Golden Goose, here.) I adore the masculine minimalist logo and supe- cool texture — it just adds so much to a white sneak. This one’s got no internal wedge and a little bit of a break-in period, btw.
3. Off-White Vulcanized Low-Top Sneakers
Looking for a good mix of sporty and luxury in your sneaks? These. Off-White’s Vulcanized Low-Top sneakers are seriously cool and comfortable with that low profile and simple design. Not a fan of the extra tag thing (that dark green plastic add-on)? Some people keep it on but I like the cleaner vibe of removing it. Totally cool enough without the tag detail. Oh, check out these canvas & suede navy ones. LOVE as a fresh change from the regular white leather.
4. Freda Salvador Eda Sneakers
These Freda Salvadors are my new fave sneaks of the season. The sexy cutouts are super-unique and amazing with dresses or anything that shows a little bit of leg. Such a good option if you’re looking for an all-white tennis shoe that’s just a little more interesting. They run the tiniest bit big but are super comfortable.
5. Cariuma Salvas Sneakers
These Cariuma sneakers are totally budget-friendly. Yay!! (Finally.) They’re sustainable, very comfy (hi, cork footbed), moisture-wicking, and overall a good, old-school white sneak under $100. You cannot go wrong with this classic style.
6. Adidas Superstar Sneakers
Surprise, surprise. (JK.) These adidas Superstars have been with me for SO many years. So much so that I’ve made tons of upgrades (design-wise) after I started stalking the Adidas website for ones with cool little details. They’re amazingly under $100 and go with everything in my closet. Overall, a pretty amazing buy.
