I’ve been eyeing up this cropped North Face Fleece jacket since September (maybe even August?). It’s one of those pieces that looks awkward on the models, and yet: sooooo much potential. I was intrigued by the cropped shape, the beautiful, drapey arms, and the colors.
Of course, I just bought the black.

This Cropped Sherpa Fleece By The North Face Is Shockingly Warm…& Cute
It turns out that this fleece is pretty ingenious. The inside is flat (not fleecy) and the fleece is pretty densely knit overall. The result is that this little piece is almost completely windproof. Coupled with the high collar, roomy arms, fitted cuffs AND the fact that there’s a drawstring that cinches the waist right in…this fleece is shockingly warm.

I love how flattering this fleece is, especially when cinched in to show off a high-waisted jean.
Speaking of, I’m wearing rag & bone’s Nina jeans, but in a modern, cigarette leg. The result is a sleek, high-rise boyfriend jean that still looks cute with most of my winter boots.

And while it IS hard to see in these photos, I’ve also layered this fleece over Halfdays’ baselayer top (in olive) and this cropped Reformation sweater. It’s a cozy outfit, for sure, one that wouldn’t necessarily even need a winter coat.
(haha — it was 20 degrees when we shot this, and I definitely needed a winter coat. But on a warmer day…)
