Avec Les Filles has been one of my absolute favorite brands for trendy puffer jackets, coats and trenchcoats for several years now. I absolutely love this Los Angeles-based, French-street-style brand, and love that it offers inclusive sizing for the majority of its pieces. It came on the scene in 2017 and instantly became one of my favorite brands to shop.
Last year, I tried on every single one of Avec Les Filles’ jackets and ended up falling in love with this gorgeous cropped puffer coat that feels like you’re wearing a cloud. As luck would have it, it’s actually a part of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this year and available in black and red. I adore this jacket so much that I am considering adding another color to my quite epic collection of plus-size winter coats.
But I digress. Let’s get back to the Patchwork Quilted Hooded Puffer Coat I’m here to chat about!
Granny Core Vibes: Patchwork Quilted Puffer Jacket + 4 Ways To Style It

As I previously mentioned, Avec Les Filles is an inclusive brand, which we love, but I want to chat about how its coats and jackets fit me. Avec Les Filles straight sizing runs from XS to XXL, and its plus sizes are 1X to 3X. I personally have found that the puffers fit me best in size XXL, and I wear a 3X in the trench-style coats. Avec Les Filles’ sizing charts have served me well, and I would suggest that you peek at those prior to finding your perfect fit. IMO, the patchwork puffer runs a little oversized, which I think is a good thing when it comes to layering sweaters and chunkier pieces underneath.
The Avec Les Filles patchwork puffer jacket is a true work of art. It’s such a stunning cropped puffer, and I absolutely love the gorgeous patterns that all somehow cohesively work together to create what is such an interesting statement coat. The pattern was also inspired by vintage patchwork quilts and the granny core aesthetic, and I am SO here for it. (Hot Girl Coastal Grandmother? I’m IN.)
It works with nearly everything in my closet from jeans to faux-leather pants to one of my absolute favorite showstopping dresses that I own. This jacket is so easy to style, and I think every closet needs at least one — or, in my case, several — statement puffer coats for the fall and winter months.
1. With Faux-Leather Pants + Chunky Boots

Does anything feel more fall than faux-leather pants?! I think not! This outfit is so comfortable, yet it’s a 10 out of 10 on the style and aesthetic for me. By now it’s no secret that I pretty much wear 90% of my tops cropped, and this Alo sweatshirt has some seriously amazing detailing. I’d wear this to get dinner with a boy, out to the movies or for a quick drink with some friends.
2. With Jeans + A Button-Down Top

Though this puffer jacket has so many colors in its print, it works surprisingly well with most hues underneath it. I have been gravitating toward more yellow colors right now and love how the two look together. P.S. These Kut from the Kloth mom jeans are a pair I bought in last year’s #NSale, and they are some of my most-worn and most comfortable jeans I own!
3. With The Infamous SKIMS Dress (Hot Girl Vibes)

This is the second SKIMS dress I’ve purchased, and let me tell you all, I absolutely love it. This version is an updated take on the OG dress, which I also own and adore. However, the neckline of this version adds an extra level of sexy. It’s a dress that is designed to hug your curves and makes me feel very va-va-voom. I decided to cinch the puffer to make it even more cropped, which makes it hit right beneath my chest for a more hourglass shape.

Like, seriously…this neckline is everything! I absolutely love how it feels like a nod to the ’90s, and it adds a subtle sexiness to the neckline as well.
4. Thrown On Over A Yoga Outfit

I love a good deep-stretch yoga class and have recently added this oh-so-comfortable and easy-to-wear Beyond Yoga jumpsuit to my closet. I’ve worn it to workout classes as well as styled it for streetwear looks. Adding the patchwork puffer coat just makes it instantly feel like a streetwear look.

Saying that I am obsessed with this puffer coat would be an understatement. I am in LOVE with this jacket and am quite certain you will be too. LMK in the comments if you have tried Avec Les Filles yourself!
Ta-ta for now,

Hi hi, friends! Follow me on Instagram for more of my day-to-day shenanigans (think lots of Colorado hiking, dog stories, food creations and all the tea on celebs). And if you feel so inclined, pop over to my YouTube channel, The Katrina Nichole, where I share plus-size fashion hauls, body positivity convos and all things inclusive movement. Byeeeeee.
This is so timely! You look fabulous, Kat. I was trying to ignore an orange paisley pullover version last winter. (Assuming it was too trendy and my interest would be fleeting). But in this heat wave filled July I can’t stop thinking about it. This looks fabulous, I guess I will seek out my pullover version. If any of you remember it, I’d love the link! You all are my main source of shopping enabling, so I assume I saw it here.
