Sneaker Styling: Adidas Gazelle In Legend Ink

You guys, I saw the Adidas Gazelle In Legend Ink this weekend and I gasped. (Drama, but) THEY’RE SO PRETTY. The deep “legend ink” is gorgeous and fresher than black IMO, and the little leather details in that “wonder beige” add such a tough of sophistication. Two claps for… beige, I guess??

I was seriously shocked by how much my color-loving-self gravitated towards these and pictured them with.. ummm, every outfit I want to wear this summer? I have a thing for gum soles these days so that wasn’t a surprise, but the neutral tones really got me this time. I think I like them better than the other navy Adidas pair I just bought haha. Dangit.

In order to prove it to you (whom, I’m guessing, haven’t yet seen them in person and had a little gasp sesh yourselves), I’ve imagined-up 7 really dang pretty outfits that would go with these lovely sneakers perfectly. Into the fun….

BTW, the “legend ink / wonder beige” colorway is quickly selling out. Here are a bunch of similar colors if you miss ’em and can’t wait for the restock:

1. With Fun Jeans

I saw these leopard jeans last week and was sooo in love. They’re a style of jean that I have, love, and find myself in allthetime. (GAH they’re sold out… but will prob restock. Here are similar.) Worn with a lil white top (IYKYK), cute accessories and a really stinking pretty pair of sneakers (that ALSO happen to be the most comfortable pair I’ve worn) = style + comfort bliss.

NOTES: If you’re into leopard like we are, the color of these sneaks is the perfect complement to the neutral print. The grey-black spot tones in the print pull from the ink color & gum sole just soooo perfectly. It’s my favorite combo yet.

2. Vacation Lounging

This is an outfit that I know I’d throw on wayyy too often. Easy, comfy pants + an airy tank that I don’t necessarily have to have a bra under? I most certainly oblige. And all of those stripes & blue tones provide such a cute, nautical look for the summer.

NOTES: Stripes on stripes on stripes works!!! I think it’s especially great here because they’re different thicknesses/directions and different colors – but I love print-stacking any day.

3. Dressed Up

Mmmmmk. I saw this Farm Rio mini dress and was sold. Immediately. Then I saw the maxi version…. and was sold again. So they both had to live in this look for you to choose. Because I couldn’t.

NOTES: I’d go sockless (or wear no-shows) with this outfit to keep it as laid-back-looking as possible. I just love how undone yet intentional it looks with easy sneakers + a slightly fancy dress + fun accessories. The perfect girly-sporty balance.

4. With A Pretty Set

Another gasp moment happened when I saw this MOTHER tank + shorts set. Is it not the cutest little matching moment you’ve ever seen?! (There’s a matching long-sleeved blouse top, too.) Throw on an easy crewneck for when it’s chilly and slip on the sneaks for maximum readiness and you’re done.

NOTES: I really do think that these sneakers could go with any color combo out there. (Yes, even black & white, actually.) I love that they tone down a busier ‘fit like this one – I just don’t think white or lighter colored pair would look nearly as good. And I never thought I’d say that!!

5. Going For A Dip

Don’t get me wrong, I’m a usual Birks/flip-flop wearer when an ocean or pool is concerned. For sure. But for those days where there’s a bit of adventuring, a lot of walking, or if you wanna look/feel just a lil bit more “finished”, sneakers can be a great save. Just pack the sandals for later!

NOTES: One of my favorite things about low-profile sneakers like Gazelles or Sambas is the way they peek out of full-length, loose pieces like wide-leg jeans, maxi skirts or long flowy dresses like this GORG one.

6. Feeling (Sporty-)French

Something about the way a classic striped, collared polo & the old-school striped Gazelles mix just makes me happy. This outfit definitely feels sporty…. but also French. I think it’s those cute little denim shorts & the accessories. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again; sporty-French is IT.

NOTES: Don’t sleep on frilly socks, you guys!! They add the cutest little flair to my outfits and slightly dress up the look of sneakers when I want them to pass for a little bit fancier. These Bombas ones in particular are my go-tos.

7. A Chic Take

I love the way the deep ink color plays with a dark army green + lighter tones. I can totally see this working well into the fall – maybe switching out the white pants with khaki trousers or just darker jeans – but for now, wide-leg white pants + these sneakers is all I can think about.

NOTES: I thiiiiink this Naghedi bag in “onyx” is like, the EXACT same color as the sneaks? Or just really close, especially with the light bouncing off that pretty texture. I’d also go with a taupe or gray-toned bag to pull from those “wonder beige” stripes, or anything brown/tan matching the gum sole. Easy.

These may just be my favorite pair yet. Let me know which ones to style next!!
