You guys, there are some pretty dang ugly sandals out there. Oof.
Sometimes finding a pretty pair that’s actually comfortable is a total walk in the park, and other times…comfort is all you’re gonna get (and sometimes, that doesn’t translate to “pretty”). We know this. That’s why I set out on a mission to find the best (and cutest!) sandals out there.
Since we do this kinda research every day, we’re certain we can spot a strap that will rub the wrong way, a wedge that’s too high for every day, or a downright unwearable shoe rather well. Plus, we already know and love the majority of these sandal brands (hiiii, Sorel), so trust us on this one.
With Spring Comes Sandals: 15 Pairs That Are Comfy AND Pretty
Yes, fashion is something we’re soooometimes inclined to choose over function when comfort can inevitably be less than ideal, but when it comes to spring/summer sandals, we need to get serious. Because when socks aren’t present to save us, those things can HURT. And we don’t want that. We only want pretty feet to match our pretty outfits. It’s simple.
No time to chat? I got you. Here are the 15 (or 16, hehe) that are our top picks right now in terms of trends (duh) and perceived comfort (double duh).
Ready to let out those toes and not be in pain? Of course. Let’s get into it.
Starting out with arguably the most fun of the bunch (OK, maybe #14 takes the cake, but…) — THESE. The beachy, woven, vacay-ready vibe of these Sam Edelman sandals is sooo cool and would make the simplest of spring outfits 10x better.
Ok, these Dolce Vita wedges are my fave. I love the light ivory color paired with the woven wedge + the little brown detail in the front. They look way expensive, IMO. The other three colors are equally as amazing.
Holy yes. I love the wooden look of the rubber sole (which is actually deceivingly lightweight) of these Sorel sandals, and that it pairs SO well with the sporty woven & leather straps. Lots going on here but it’s perfect.
Oooomg, these Vionic slingback sandals are so fun and look like, pillow-soft. Could definitely be worn to fancier events (weddings, graduations, parties). Total cool-girl vibes.
Hey, ’90s. You’re back (again) and cuter than ever. These platform sandals from Free People are the best way to literally elevate any casual outfit + would look adorable with a sundress.
The wedge height on these espadrille sandals from Clarks is glorious. Not too much that it’s overwhelming (or hard to walk in for long), but enough that they’re decidedly less casual than a flat pair while probably just as comfy.
I present to you: the perfect child of Sorel & Birkenstocks. These Spring Step Hanyo Sandals are functional, casual and super-versatile. I love the navy too.
These Sorel flatform sandals are so easy with a bit of beachy, woven flair. I love a good espadrille sandal that can balance some sportiness.
These other flatform sandals (from Teva) are so freaking durable AND give some really good height (1 3/4 inches, to be exact). They come in a bunch of colors, but this black-&-white print is definitely my favorite.
Does it get any more ideal than these Lucky Brand sandals? They’d flatten down perfectly for packing and prooobably would go with every outfit on your spring or summer trip. I’d bet on that, actually.
I just had to add the Kimaya sandals in this colorway too. Such a fun, subtle print to pair with neutrals for a bit of excitement.
These Naturalizer slide sandals are another pair that’s pretty much made for traveling as well as everyday wear. The shine is perfect for adding a touch of fancy.
Loooove the braided detail on these comfy-AF Vince slides. That rich caramel brown color is so good too. Vince does shoes so dang well.
How. freaking. fun. are these puffy slide sandals? I have no words. Farm Rio, your prints have my heart.
Don’t these Vionic sandals just look SO cushy? Would be the perfect slip-on for post-heels (or anything much less comfortable). They come in five bright colorways as well as white.
Bonus! 16. Olukai Ho Opio Leather Flip-Flops
After a brief chat with Shana on the trending footwear for spring and summer, we decided that, yes, a pair of flip-flops needed to make this list. Another post on the best (& actually prettiest) ones out there coming very soon…
Gah, OK, here’s some more. They’re just too good.
Oh, heyyy, Pinners..
