I’m always looking for one-style-fits-all shoes, and I’ve found that black ankle-strap sandals pretty much go with everything. I wanted to invest in a pair that are comfortable, but it’s taken me a while to find a pair that can truly be worn for hours on end…but these?
They’re that pair.
Frye Carson Sandals: The Cute Summer Shoes You Need
The leather is so buttery soft, there are no buckles to mess with when putting them on and taking them off, and I can walk for miles in them. (And they’re on sale right now, too!) Now I just need this virus to go away so I can visit Shana in Philly and follow her around the city on foot (it’s CRAZY how much that girl walks) without having to stop at a store and buy more comfortable shoes. (A situation that’s happened more than I care to admit.) Here are all the ways I’m wearing them:
Black Sandals With Jeans
These jeans are American Eagle’s curvy mom jeans…and as you may or may not know, I’m obsessed with trying all of the curvy styles of jeans that I can. These fit really well around the waist (no gapping), but are nice and loose in the legs. The holes make them perfect for summer, but if that’s not your cup of tea, they come in a ton of different washes (I’m kind of loving the white as well) and they’re 40% off (under $30!) right now.
Black Sandals With Shorts
You may have seen our group post on Levi’s 501 shorts recently, but those shorts are not really made for curvy bodies. These Good American shorts are my favorite, and they’re PERFECT for those of us with a bigger booty and smaller waist. They come in sizes 00-24, and there are pictures of women modeling each size on their website. (They also come without distressing, if the rips are too much for you.)
Black Sandals With Mini Dresses
This is an old dress that I can’t find anymore–which is sad because this shape is super-comfortable and flattering. I wore it when I was pregnant and it still fit at almost 8 months pregnant. This one is a flattering shape from Free People (what is going on in the pics of the models??) and so is this one from Athleta, but both of those are a solid color, and neither are light and floaty like this one. So if anyone finds something similar, please let me know–because this is one of my favorites!
Black Sandals With Midi Dresses
I love this dress. I did a whole review of it here, but the short story is that it’s comfy and stretchy, while the shirring makes it flattering by kind of holding you in (sort of like Spanx). It also comes in a bunch of other colors, and I’m loving the coral-y “geranium” color for summer.
Black Sandals With Maxi Dresses
I mean, I could also wear this maxi dress without the knot, but then this would just be a picture of the dress without being able to see the shoes. Either way, these sandals are kind of perfect for this dress. (Which was SO wrinkly, btw, because it had just come out of the bin, in which it sat throughout the winter–it’s usually not nearly this bad.) I love the comfort factor of this dress, and often throw it on over my suit when going to the beach or just playing with the kids outside. (LOVE the pockets!)
