The 8 Health + Beauty Finds I Swear By In Summer

1

This post is sponsored by iHerb.

A friend and I were just talking about how it feels like this summer is absolutely flying by — and yet, I just realized this morning, we still have more than two months left until Lana starts up school again.

Which is perfect, because I’ve only just unlocked a few key hacks (that’s not quite the right word, but you know what I mean) that have made all the difference in how I’m feeling this summer. Great energy, improved mood, the best skin I’ve had since turning 40. (Heck, maybe since turning 30!)

And today, I’m sharing eight of the products that I’d credit with a good amount of those sweet, sweet summer vibes.

Quickly Shop My 8 Favorite Summer Health & Beauty Essentials

Happily, all of these summer health & beauty essentials can be found on iHerb — which, if you’ve never shopped there before, stocks nearly all my favorite health and wellness brands, supplements and beauty essentials, all with a really straightforward online shopping experience and free shipping over $30. Plus, you can take a special 15% off orders $60+ with our code: MOMEDIT.

I’m not new to shopping iHerb. When I was in treatment for breast cancer, it was my go-to source for nutritional, mood-elevating and anti-nausea supplements. And even back in my food blogging days, it was my favorite source for fun, hard-to-find baking extracts, wildy-hued superfood powders and more.

Today, as I’ve been aiming to diversify retailers a bit, I’ve even shifted to buying some of my favorite skincare essentials from iHerb. The shipping is fast, the prices are competitive (there are Autoship + Save options, if you’re used to receiving regular deliveries of your favorite items) and the reviews — which are all authenticated and, interestingly, from all over the world — are so, so helpful.

The 8 Products That Keep My Skin Glassy, My Immune System Supported And My Mood In Check This Summer

So without further ado, here are eight summer health & beauty essentials in my daily routine — from my new shortcut to glass skin to the throat spray that I credit with being cold-and-flu-free for more than six months — all available, for your convenience, on iHerb.

1. VT Cosmetics 300 Reedle Shot

VT Cosmetics Reedle Shot

Clear, radiant skin that glows without a lot of makeup? That’s a summer must, so I’m starting with this VT Cosmetics 300 Reedle Shot, which is one of the most visually compelling skincare products I’ve ever used.

I have a friend with the glassiest skin, and she swears that this product, which is basically a microneedling procedure in a tube, is responsible for her smooth, even complexion. Following in her steps, I started with the VT 100 Reedle Shot, which you apply after cleansing/before your active serums, etc. to exfoliate/prep the skin and maximize their absorption, and then after I went through my first tube, I moved up to the 300.

Contrary to what I feared, both the 100 and the 300 are super comfortable on the skin, with only a briefly zing-y tingle on the 300. Maybe the best part? Despite it’s cult-like following and dramatic results, this product is actually affordable. I’ve shared a few bare-faced selfies on Facebook and Discord, but in short: I’m a believer.

Both the 100 and 300 Reedle Shot are also available in a full-size pump, if that’s what you prefer, but each of these 10 packets provides 2-3 uses, so they’re perfect for travel.

2. Beekeeper’s Naturals Propolis Immune Support Daily Throat Spray

Beekeeper’s Naturals Propolis Immune Support throat spray—summer wellness staple.

One of my friends started using this Beekeeper’s Naturals Propolis Daily Immune Support Spray and swore she didn’t get sick for months — and this is amidst her family passing around seasonal colds, stomach bugs, strep, you name it — so you better believe I ordered it ASAP.

Truth be told, I haven’t gotten sick — at all — in more than six months, and any time I feel that telltale post-nasal drip that tells me something might be coming for me, I double up and it vanishes. Vanishes.

There’s a kid version, too, though I suspect it’s just diluted (and the same price), so I just give my girls a half-dose of the regular version. Unfortunately, I can’t get them to take it as regularly as I do, but neither opposes the taste much, and they’re both willing to take it at first sign of a scratchy throat and any other time we can remember.

Maybe the biggest endorsement? Chris, who isn’t as…homeopathically inclined, let’s say…now asks for the “honey spray” whenever he feels a tickle creeping up on him, too.

I keep it with my toothbrush/skincare and just automatically take it every morning. I’ve bought it 10 times over. It works.

3. + 4. OM Master Blend Mushrooms & Adaptogens + California Gold Nutrition Blueberry Juice Powder

OM Master Blend mushroom powder and blueberry juice powder.

I am all-in on mushrooms, gang. And adaptogens. Bring them on. Nothing elevates my mood faster than a one-two punch of mushrooms and ashwaganda. An instant stress reliever. Obviously, I’m not a physician (insert an obvious disclaimer here re: consulting yours), but adding a teaspoon of this OM Master Blend Mushrooms & Adaptogens to my morning coffee or a tea latte leaves me feeling so good.

And lemme tell you — in the summer, especially, with two kids at home allllll day long, I’ll take all the anti-stress support I can get.

On days when I want to skip the coffee or the tea altogether, I froth a teaspoon of this Master Blend, a teaspoon or two of naturally sweet-tart California Gold Nutrition Blueberry Juice Concentrate, a dribble of maple syrup and a scoop of collagen peptides (optional) with milk and put it over ice. The result is a slightly sweet, slightly nutty not-coffee latte that’s full of gut-loving functional mushrooms, antioxidants, vitamin C, manganese, and mood-boosters. I also have the capsules for days when a frothed drink just isn’t in the cards.

5. Advanced Clinicals Collagen + Rosewater Facial Mist

Advanced Clinicals Collagen + Rosewater facial mist

I love a facial mist, but especially in the summer, this Advanced Clinicals Collagen + Rosewater Facial Mist is such an easy way to feel perked up and refreshed. Before I apply my skincare, I’ll use it to just help everything glide on effortlessly, then another spray for finishing — and bonus points if you live in a truly hot area and are able to keep it in the fridge, because that isht is fresh. I adore the super light scent, too, which is a little boost unto itself. And the generous size and glass bottle feel especially luxe.

6. Petifee Oil Blossom Lip Mask

A lip mask that rivals my favorite lip mask (you know the one) with a creamy, supple texture that’s so pretty, I forego the whole concept of a mask and just slick it all day long as a balm. It honestly makes lips so plush and healthy, without looking or feeling like you’re wearing much of anything. Exceptional buy that’s worth ordering on repeat.

7. Petifee Super Volume Lip Oil

Petifee Super Volume Lip Oil

It seems I have become a collector of lip oils — and, as such, I’d like to think I’m a bit of a connoisseur. If you’re in the market for a lip oil that is super hydrating, nourishing, and with a gentle plumping effect (but none of the typical plumping sensation), this Petifee Super Volume Lip Oil is worthy of a spot in your lip gloss drawer.

I also appreciate that it’s not tinted, so it can be paired with any of your favorite lip colors — and looks perfectly natural and fresh on its own. Perfect for the very minimal makeup look I opt for most days in the summer.

It’s also non-sticky, pleasantly scented (if only faintly) and a little goes a long way.

8. Chimes Ginger Chews

Bag of Chimes Ginger Chews—travel-friendly tummy soother for summer.

Last but certainly not least. If you’ve experienced pregnancy, there’s a good chance you’re already familiar with these Chimes Ginger Chews, but they’re also handy for settling woozy tummies on flights or summer road trips.

We keep a pack in the pantry, one in the center console, and I usually chuck a handful in my bag, which makes me feel a little grandma-y, in the best way. They’re also great for keeping your mouth busy on long hikes and the perfect interlude between rich restaurant meals on vacation. I can’t get enough, and my girls love them, too.

And that’s it! Eight summer health & beauty essentials that I truly feel I’d be a little lost without. What would you add?

xo,
Em
