We’ve officially reached the point in the year when I can start looking forward to my family vacation down the shore. Waking up to my nephew saying, “Nae Nae, time to get up,” is something I’ll cherish forever (sobbing that he’s already somehow FIVE, ugh).
Naturally, I’m also thinking about what to pack, and even more specifically, outfits that I want to wear. I find packing with specific outfits in mind makes the whole process easier, especially if you dread the packing debacle as much as I do (or end up packing your entire closet, heh).
Summer Vacation Outfits: 5 Shore-Ready Looks (From Nordstrom)
So, as I do, I headed to Nordstrom’s new arrivals section for some vacation outfit inspo. My brain is in shore-destination mode (where are my fellow Jersey Shore goers??), but hey, I’d definitely wear these pieces on a European getaway, too.
You can click on the links below, but you can head to our TME Nordstrom Storefront to shop these looks and more, too.
Summer Vacation Outfit 1: Slow Mornings & Balcony Hangs
Probably my favorite part of being down the shore is sitting on the balcony in full relax-mode. Slow mornings are definitely my cup of tea, too.
NOTE: Since I’m a sucker for cute pajamas that I won’t sweat in, I grabbed the Lunya silk pjs we love, but in this new tomato print (how fun!!). Amy has and loves those Rothy’s casual clogs, too, and I can see them being my go-to for running out for coffee and lounging around outside. And don’t forget your sunscreen!! Even for the porch hangs!! Supergoop! is currently the only brand that doesn’t irritate my ridiculously sensitive skin.
Summer Vacation Outfit 2: Beach Day
Now, if you know me, you know I’m not a beach gal. But, I do try to be a good sport about the whole thing, and I obviously cannot miss the happiness on my nephew’s face when he’s in his beach chair with his fave popsicle and beach sammie. So, I typically go for a one-piece bathing suit and some sort of long-sleeve coverup (the sun is not my friend, unfortunately).
NOTE: That coverup is definitely on the splurge side, but it’s the kinda thing I’d keep forever and ever and ever. It’s so stinkin’ pretty and fun. And, yes, that shell is a hair clip. Maybe a bit on-the-nose, but I couldn’t resist. I always need a hair clip on deck for that heat, so might as well make it kitschy.
Summer Vacation Outfit 3: Brunch By The Bay
Doesn’t a brunch by the bay sound so lovely? I’m manifesting it for my vacation this year (Mom, I know you’re reading this). Anywho, I’m trying to become a denim shorts girl – I have thick thighs that don’t always love them – so, I’m considering sizing up in a pair that’s slouchy and mid-length. That, a cute but comfy + lightweight top, some sort of sweatshirt I can throw over my shoulders for that ocean bay breeze and walkable flats, and I’m ready.
1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9
NOTE: Shana loves her Margaux flats, so I’ve been eyeing up the version with the ankle straps. As for the jellies – Abby has them, and after a couple of wears, they molded perfectly to her footbed.
Summer Vacation Outfit 4: Night Out To Dinner
I wouldn’t say we get fancy per se, but I’m officially a dress person in the summer because I cannot even with the heat. And, a dress just makes everything less complicated.
NOTE: I’ve been looking at all the pearly bags, and this one is officially my #1 pick. It comes with a pretty chain strap, too.
Summer Vacation Outfit 5: Window Shopping & Ice Cream Run
Now, this is my realistic family-hangout-comfy-cozy look you can see me sporting most days (tee + cozy shorts + walkable shoes). But, we can elevate it a bit with a fun hat, cool sunnies, frilly socks and a thicker tee that reads intentionally-slouchy-cool for all the window shopping and ice cream runs.
NOTE: My brother’s been loving his ON sneakers, and the man knows sneakers, so this is the pair I absolutely need to add into my rotation. And, come on…that fish hat also needs to be in my closet, ASAP (for sun protection and sparking joy purposes).
I hope this gave ya some summer outfit inspo!
