We’ve been Shop Mrs. Jones superfans ever since we discovered her made-for-sneakers-dress. I was hoping Nichole (the designer) would come out with something just as fun for winter, but she’s a one-woman shop, so I had to wait for it.
This Flannel Jumpsuit Is The Cure For Your Sweatpants Blues
Once again proving that Nichole’s inside our heads…she just launched, for the sick-of-sweatpants crowd (yessss), this flannel romper. I’m wearing the stripe, but it’s also available in blue herringbone or plaid.
And it was definitely worth waiting for.

This romper has an oversized fit (duh), and is made from a pretty thick, serious flannel. This is not the thin and drapey Rails “flannel”. Rather, this is hearty stuff, which means, as I found out, that it is actually…warm. It’s not going to replace a snowsuit, but if you fall into the ‘always cold’ category [S raises hand], then this thing is going to get some use.
If you didn’t know, Nichole (the designer), sources all of her fabrics from leftover high-end designer fabrics, helping to close the circle on fabric waste. All pieces are made in a woman-run and -owned factory in NYC (and she’s a woman of color herself).
My mittens are Stormy Kromer mittens, which is kind of a thing in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Stormy Kromer is headquartered in the U.P. and have been a family-owned business for more than 100 years. Almost all of their products are still made in the US. You can get my mittens at Amazon, but I recommend checking out Stormy Kromer’s website itself, or pick up a pair at Getz’s in Marquette, MI.
It’s a rather delightful piece to put on in the morning…nice and toasty warm. Especially if you, like me…are getting a little sick of sweatpants.

Hope you guys are staying warm…

Oh hey, Pinners…
I feel like this is another April 1st post? You look beautiful Shanna (as per usual) but no. Just no.
Shana, ‘Orange Is The New Black’ was not aspirational.
Okay, I really like this and the stripes/fabric look awesome, and the popped collar is perfect. Unfortunately, I’m in NorCal and have no use for it, but I think it looks great on you … I think it would fall off me.
Hard pass 😬 I can’t think of a single woman’s body this would be flattering on
I was thinking the same thing. I don’t have enough money or room in my closet for something this quirky. But to each their own.
I went to the website, and it’s much cuter when worn fitted.
Very Grandpa’s Pyjamas. Not for me and not something I would ever qualify as more stylish than sweatpants. It does look cozy and comfy though and if ever there was a time to experiment with loungewear, this is it.
I love this. Over the last year,I ve been really trying to understand my own personal style, which has always been a little bit tweaked from whatever is considered “fashiony” at the moment (which may explain why I am now almost always wearing super slouchy old Levis with a low waist and dropped crotch with my Jil Sanders men’s oxfords. If I had this boiler suit, it would be on heavy rotation.
I have been devouring Tibi’s Style Class Videos on IG. They are very low-fi (just Amy Smilovic and a Deone, her second in command ) and just full of insightful, solid information on creative pragmatism and pushing the boundaries of fashion for everyday living- balloon pants, boxy oversized blazers, striped flannel boiler suits…. Shana, you would love it!!!
I think I love this. It’s so cool. I love the turtleneck under. I think it’s fresh and stylish and fantastic. I really love that blue herringbone pattern. Totally cool. You rock it.
Shana,I love you, and I love your style…but this is not one of your best looks. As cozy as it may feel, I think it’s too long for you through the torso, giving you the look of a toddler in a onesie with a full diaper. Maybe it’s fine for curling up on the couch with a good book, or as am improvised snowsuit (providing you don’t leave your own backyard), but I know you have better things to wear.
I love this! Love it!
Adorable and surprisingly divisive, commenters! Exactly the kind of thing that makes *some* of us (since when has clothing and fashion worked for *all* of us?!?) feel cute and cozy at the same time.
