Feels Like A Sweater, Looks Like A Coat (Under $150)

The weather can’t seem to make up its mind if it’s winter or spring and I, for one, am excited to ditch the puffer coats for the season. But I also hate being cold…like, HATE it. So while the snow is still covering the ground, I’m going to need a comfortable coat-like option that feels more like spring but can also keep me warm on colder days.

The Sweater Coat I’ve Been Wearing on Repeat

Which means I’ve been wearing this sweater coat almost daily since I bought it. It’s easy to dress up and adds a touch of chic-ness to any outfit (I especially love the monochromatic look here), but can also be dressed down (see pics at the end of the post).

The side pockets are convenient without adding too much bulk. Big enough to throw my phone in for easy access if I want to go hands-free, too. (I’ll often leave my bag in the car if I’m just running a quick errand and don’t want to hold onto my keys/wallet and phone.)

The slit on the back allows for movement and I love that it keeps things less restrictive. I’ve had long cardigans that (ahem) accentuate my booty a bit too much by clinging, but this one drapes really well because of the open back.

For colder days (which are definitely still happening in Marquette), I just throw a scarf over it for extra warmth. As long as it’s not below 35, this coat is just fine. (I mean, I wouldn’t spend, like, hours outside in it or anything, but for dinner/errands, etc. it’s perfect.)

I dressed it up a bit with some pops of red for a recent dinner out and felt fancy…

…but I also dressed it down for a recent trip to Chicago. It was the perfect layering piece for the plane. Soft, stretchy, and long enough to wrap around my legs when it gets cold (why are airports so cold?). And it isn’t too bulky or awkward to carry around when I take it off. I love that it easily fits over sweaters and hoodies without feeling constrictive too.

It worked so well on the way down that I basically did the exact same thing on the flight back home.

Also…the day I flew back it was over 70 degrees in Chicago and 34 in Marquette. This sweater coat worked in both places. 🙌🏼

XOXO,

Scotti

  1. HI-how does the sweater wear? Are you getting a lot of pilling? Are you having to wash/dryclean a lot? How have you been caring for it and has it been working? Thanks!!
