Hold up. Have you tried the swimwear brand Sea Level? I was searching for one-piece bathing suits — what I feel like I’ve been doing for months now — when I came across a few suits that had just enough of the right words in the description that made me add some to my cart.
Seriously Supportive One-Piece Swimsuits From Sea Level
“Comfortable.” “Support.” “Sleek style.” All things I desperately want in a swimsuit, none of the things I can usually find all together. Though many suits claim to have these same hopeful descriptions, I was a bit blown away — I mean genuinely and thoroughly in awe at how good this try-on was.
I wanted to add just about every one-piece style from Sea Level in my cart, but I took it as a good sign that my size wasn’t available in all of them (people like ‘em!). What I did grab was the Skirted One Piece, the Underwire One Piece, the Short Sleeve Front Zip One Piece and the Cross Front One Piece, all in US size 8. I chose to keep it real while trying all of them on; I don’t typically go to the beach with anything more than sunscreen applied, so I was deliberate in my choice of being makeup-free and rocking damp hair. The last thing I need is a false hope for what I’ll look like this summer — I need the swimsuit to speak for itself.
Sea Level Skirted One Piece | The Popular One
Wow — this one is popular! Having been fully stocked just a week ago and now down to a few sizes (here’s hoping for a restock). I found this same suit but in a really fun black & white print with a few remaining sizes over at the Rack! Like all of these suits, this one is amazingly supportive! My chest has never been lifted so well in a suit while still being really comfortable. You don’t think about anything holding up your ladies — there’s no awkward digging or noticeable wiring — they just sit there looking awesome.
The skirt style is perfect for anyone who likes to keep things more modest, or just prefers a fun unique spin on a suit. It’s flirty but perfectly covering every area including the bum, and there’s built-in tummy mesh that still makes sure you’re held in comfortably even with the flattering flow of the suit! Just when you think you can’t ask for more…adjustable straps!
Though Nordstrom suggests this brand runs large, I found them all to be true to size (but I wouldn’t doubt if they are flexible fits, since it IS stretchy swim material). I always prefer larges in form-fitting clothing, and the size 8 in all of these were perfect for me.
Sea Level Underwire One Piece | A Whole Lotta Flattering
The square shape to this style (and the previous one) is so freakin’ on-trend in the best of ways. It’s a bit ’90s, unique to swimwear, and a whole lotta flattering. Don’t let the word “underwire” in the suit name scare you — I didn’t feel anything. Just my ladies sitting happily!
This suit is complete with those same perfect adjustable straps. The bottom cut is cheeky and stayed in place as I walked around. I hesitated to grab the color red because I don’t like drawing attention to my midsection, but the suit has “power mesh” (my new favorite term ever since I reviewed this best selling bra) and it kept me feeling more confident than I normally ever feel in something form-fitting!
One Piece Suit | Cover-up | Slides
I couldn’t resist styling it with this cover-up and slides I just ordered. This top is a linen blend that was made for the long sandy days under the sun (or kicking back at the pool!). It’s oversized, so the medium I ordered was plenty roomy. I’d consider sizing down if you like to use your cover-ups for going from beach-to-dinner-out sort of vibe! Throw on a pair of perfect cutoffs and you’re ready to refuel after a day in the sun.
Sea Level Short Sleeve Front Zip One Piece | Perfect For Nursing & Active Moms
Oh my word…I didn’t think I would love this one as much as I do. I was nervous with the horizontal stripes since they tend to make you look wider, but I felt surprisingly so totally comfortable in this print (it comes in solid colors, too). There’s a zipper but you don’t feel it, it doesn’t dig into you, etc., The zipper DOES however allow you to wear this with a few looks: fully zipped, like I did, which gives a little bit of a surfer suit vibe, or zipped slightly down for a little something spicy (the zipper magically stays put!). Bonus, this would be soooo good if you’re wanting to breastfeed while at the beach.
While this wouldn’t be the best for those hoping to layout tanning all day, it is definitely the choice for anyone who likes to swim, jump in the waves, run around with the kids, jump on a board — all the good active things. There are magical hidden cups in this one that I didn’t even notice at first — but once I reached in to adjust the ladies, they were all at once perfectly supported and had never been happier (sensing a theme?! I’m floored by the support in these!!).
One Piece Suit | Cover-up | Slides
These slides were made for the beach — literally, the word “towel” is in the name. I thought they would be squishy by the looks of them online, but they have a firm sole that actually feels like they are ready to soak up any and ALL water dripping off of you from your last swim. They would be incredibly perfect for going from the pool to the hotel room or the ocean/lake to the car. Towels for your feet, that’s exactly what they are (brilliant).
Sea Level Cross Front One Piece | Hello, Flattering!
Oh helloooooo, ruching and a gathered bust line! This suit visually hides my love handles and makes me appear far more trim and toned than I am. In everyday bras, I’m between a C and D cup, and this suit is so flattering both up top and in the cut of the hip. Even with the deeper v-cut I feel completely held in and ready for an afternoon of wave jumping!
Like all the rest, it has adjustable straps and a bottom cut that is flattering while staying put.

The cover-up is cute tied, too!!

I want a suit that allows me to jump in the waves and play in the sand without wardrobe malfunctions, but mostly one that just makes me feel confident (you know, help in my midsection where I’m not only naturally boxy but also store my extra cookies). The last thing I want to think about during a day at the beach is how I look. Having tried on multiple pairs and being impressed with all of them, I would genuinely have to recommend this brand as a whole. The square neckline has to be my favorite visually, but the front zip is both so cute AND practical that I think it’s a summertime need. Honestly — these are all still sitting in front of me while I go back and forth on which one to keep (it’s a new one every hour). What a nice problem to have!

PS — If you’re not looking for all the bells and whistles, I also purchased this other one-piece recently — it’s super comfortable and allows you to pick the bum coverage you want.
