Taking it Back to Casual Town with my new Vera Bradley Backpack (& a fun recap)

Considering that my life calls for casual attire, after dressing up my new Vera Bradley Leighton backpack for the Pittsburgh event, I dialed everything back to ummm…REALITY…and have been carrying this baby with me every day, no matter what I’ve got on.

I’ve worn it with yoga pants even…and have felt pretty damn awesome, because of it’s classy sass.

My current favorite thing to wear it with though? — a flannel shirt w/ cropped jeans and a sick pair of flat booties.

It really does it for me in a big way.

Play dates? Yep. All the errands? Yep. Thanksgiving programs at school? Oh, YEP. That happened today in this very outfit.

I really feel like I need to take a moment to thank the backpack for inspiring my new favorite everyday momiform…and for assisting me in keeping some semblance of cool, even if I do happen to have some PB&J encrusted on my back. Yep, that happened today, too. So.

Thank you, Vera Bradley Leighton backpack. From the bottom of my mama heart. You rock.

Oh, I’m sorry. What’s that you said? Not quite enough RBF? Wait a second. I’m sure I can scrounge up another soul-blackening stare for ya…

There. There it is.

I swear I was thinking about puppies and kittens the entire time. Like…in my head, I was thinking, “Wow. I’m going to look so natural and happy in these shots. This is going to be gooooooood”………..

Never really pans out for me, it seems.

I always end up looking like something terribly serious just happened to me and all of my loved ones.

outfit details

top: Free People Wesley Plaid Shirt – this Calvin Klein Plaid Shirt looks awesome and is also very similar

jeans: Free People Payton Studded Skinny Jeans – a cropped style and, being taller, I’d only ever wear these with a taller boot or bootie. I love them though. The studs make this pair of jeans really cool and different. (wearing size 27 – pretty true to size…maybe a the tiniest smidge on the small side?)

boots: Franco Sarto Harwick Bootie – I really, really like these. They look so good on…especially with cropped jeans. LOVE THEM. (wearing a size 10…half a size up from my normal size, because I like to wear boots with thicker socks in the winter)

backpack: Vera Bradley Leighton Backpack – this is a fantastic backpack. It’s so well-made, classy (yet fun), has enough room for some serious STUFF (but isn’t too big) and it surprises you with the pretty print inside (see photos once you click on the link – cool pink and zebra print). I always get happy when I unzip it to get something out…haha.

BTW: The Vera Bradley event at Macy’s was SO MUCH FUN. I cannot believe what a whirlwind trip it was (flew into Pittsburgh and then back in one day) – wow. It was exhausting and I even had to pump in the basement offices of Macy’s, but I had such a great time. I would do it again.

It was nice to actually be able to see, feel and carry all of the new Vera Bradley Collection pieces in person. I was so impressed…and I’m a serious snob, when it comes to handbags, so…that’s saying something.  Definitely worth checking out at your nearest Macy’s.

Well done, Vera Bradley.

A huge thank you to Macy’s and Vera Bradley for sponsoring this post!  I had such a great time – thank you so much for hosting me.  And readers, thank you for your continued support.  It doesn’t go unnoticed, and is so very much appreciated.

  1. You look great, as always! At the risk of sounding like a total loony-toon, it looks like your thyroid is swollen…Super common postpartum, but miserable if you don’t get to a good doc. Us mama’s gotta watch out for each other, right?!?

  2. Thanks for another great post, Cam. We are the same height, so I am always dying to see you in clothes. Thanks for all you share here. I am on an insane denim hunt, and it looks like I am going to settle on a raw pair. I’ll keep people updated…
