If the idea of fall has you craving fresh denim (saaame *rolls eyes* every year), I’ve got you. I recently did a big Saks jeans order and, upon trying them on, realized they were all actually… really, really freaking great.
I grabbed seven pairs of jeans from Saks in different washes, cuts & brands. I covered classic straight-legs, easy wide-legs, and a couple curveballs that surprised me in the. best. way. Most are included in Saks’ current sale right now too (!!!), which makes the timing kiiind of perfect if your denim drawer needs a little love.
7 Jeans For Fall: A Saks Try-On
Honestly, I went into this thinking I’d easily narrow it down to one or two favorites given the brand scope of my order. But…nope. These jeans are the kind you put on and immediately start building outfits around. Like, real contenders for your everyday rotation this fall.
FWIW, I take a size 28-29 depending on rise & how much slouch I want, which has been ~a good bit of slouch~ these days. But! I did tone it down for the majority of these pairs because I wanted them more fitted in the waist & thigh (thus not so baggy). So if loose-fitting jeans aren’t your thing, just take your normal sizes. If they are, size up!
Ok, so a few fall staples also managed to sneak into my order… and I (ugh) really loved them. I was looking for easy outfit additions/basics and pretty much nailed it. Here are some pretty pieces I tried on to bridge the summer-to-fall gap:
Into the try-on!
L’AGENCE Quincy Wide-Leg Jeans
tank (M – runs large) | jeans (28 – runs large) | shoes
The L’AGENCE Quincy jeans are a high-rise, wide-leg dream – structured yet surprisingly light and airy?! The medium wash is spot-on for fall, and the fit is flattering: slightly fitted (or I guess just not too loose) from waist to knee, then loosening into a wide leg with a 33″ inseam (I’ll need to hem them at 5’6″, but would love the extra length with boots).
They’re 100% cotton with just enough give to keep things comfortable, and the polished, trouser-like vibe makes them feel elevated without trying too hard.
rag & bone Miramar Denim-Print Wide-Leg Track Pants
tank (M – runs large) | jeans (M – TTS) | shoes | bag
The rag & bone Miramar “pants” are basically a cheat code. They look like cool, wide-leg jeans (complete with a shockingly realistic denim print – THAT BUTTON IS PRINTED ON – and sporty side stripes) but feel like your favorite sweatpants. The 100% cotton is soft and buttery, with an elastic waistband and relaxed 32″ inseam that makes them ideal for travel days or really any day.

I loooved these and will definitely be keeping them in my rotation. That contrast stripe adds just the right sporty little touch I’m always trying to sneak into outfits.
Agolde Low Curve Mid-Rise Jeans
tank (M – runs large) | jeans (29 – runs large) | shoes | bag
The Agolde Low Curve jeans were (gah, another) instant yes. I’ll be replacing my old Agolde straight-legs with these – the light wash is easily the prettiest I’ve ever tried on, and the curved outseam gives them just the right amount of shape to not feel overwhelming.
They sit perfectly on my waist (mid-rise, technically, but feel more like a comfy high-rise on me – I could’ve taken a 28) and drape with that effortless, slightly slouchy fit that I love. Casual with a tee, cool with a silk cami, and (probably) unexpectedly perfect with heels.
Joe’s Jeans The Ryan Drawstring Jeans
tank (M – runs large) | jeans (29 – TTS) | shoes
The Joe’s Jeans Ryan drawstring jeans in cherry red were surprisingly my absolute favorite. What made them stand out? Oh, just the simply perfect mix of shape & material (a straight-leg silhouette that feels relaxed yet polished, in such a soft, comfortable blend). The drawstring waist adds that effortless, adjustable touch, and that cherry red color is stunning.

It’s the kind of bold-but-wearable shade that livens up neutrals with a bit of playfulness. Definitely a very fun, unexpected upgrade for fall.
Frame The Collegiate Wide-Leg Jeans
sweater (M – runs large) | jeans (29 – TTS) | shoes | bag
The Frame Collegiate jeans have that just-right wide-leg fit; relaxed without feeling overly voluminous and almost leaning straight.

The dark wash is rich and classic (so good for fall), and the denim itself is soft & smooth, thanks to that regenerative cotton. A great option if you want something timeless with a little structure but lots of comfort.
Veronica Beard Taylor High-Rise Wide-Leg Jeans
tank (M – runs large) | jeans (28 – runs small) | shoes
The Veronica Beard Taylor jeans are polished and very pretty. I loved the thoughtful details (the gold hem & front patch pockets especially). The 100% cotton gives them a structured, trouser-like feel that’s perfect for dressing up, but I should’ve sized up – the high rise felt extra high and a bit snug on me.
Still, they’re a stunning option if you’re looking for a wide-leg jean that leans elevated and chic. A great option for laidback office attire or date night.
Citizens of Humanity Horseshoe Straight Wide-Leg Jeans
tank (M – runs large) | jeans (28 – TTS) | shoes
The Citizens of Humanity Horseshoe jeans have been on my To-Try list forever – partly because I love a barrel leg, partly because Amy (and Em?) raved about them. They’re ultra-relaxed with that signature horseshoe shape: high-waisted, cropped, and very wide through the leg.

On me, the volume felt a bit much for my straighter frame, but they’re undeniably cool. If you’re into bold denim shapes or want to add a little edge to your fall wardrobe, these are a strong contender.
That’s all for now!
