It FINALLY feels like fall in Philly, guys. I get to officially bring out my coats and hoodies and alll the cozy pants. I simply couldn’t be more excited about it.
I’m getting all giddy just thinking about my outfit possibilities for the colder weather after going through our top sellers for the month. (No, really I am). Cozy sweaters, these extremely-hyped (some may say — perfect) trousers, cute yet hard-working boots, and a swingy Free People top that I’ve decided is a must-have for my wardrobe.

1. Longchamp Large Le Pliage Tote
Where to buy: Nordstrom
Longchamp bags have been classics in a lot of people’s wardrobes for years. Anyone that has one swears by it. I do want to note that the strap has been updated and is a bit shorter than the original.
Shana’s Note: These bags have been on sale before, but I’ve been on the fence. I know readers have raved & raved about the usefulness of this French brand’s iconic tote (this one, specifically), but I tend to like bags with some unexpected details. Longchamp’s latest Le Pilage, tho, feels v. different. The shape is updated, and the stripe detail is seriously cool. I love the ‘black & beige’ or – Ooo!! – the ‘graphite & paper’. Obviously these are amazing for travel (they fold down into nothing), but I like that they’re also chic enough (and durable enough) for everyday.
2. rag&bone Addison Varsity Recycled Baseball Cap
Where to buy: Nordstrom
We’ve been allll over the baseball/trucker hat phenomenon. They really just add a little somethin’ to an outfit to make it a tad more interesting. Or if you want to add a sporty, casual element to your slightly-fancy trench and trousers? Add a baseball hat.
TME Note: Baseball hats are having a huge moment this fall, and I love the pop of color & texture on this rag&bone one.
3. Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Eyeshadow Stick
Where to buy: Nordstrom
I’ve always wanted to try out an eyeshadow stick. It kinda just does the hard work for you.
Scotti’s Note: Ooh, the perfect one-and-done eye product for fall…love that mulberry color!
4. Madewell Brightside Rib T-Shirt

Where to buy: Nordstrom
The white tee is an underestimated wardrobe essential. I know I used to think it wasn’t interesting enough, but boy was I WRONG. It just feels clean and fresh, and lets your trousers or wide-leg jeans or fun jacket do all the talking.
Shana’s Note: It’s time to stock up on a few new tees for a new season. Madewell makes a great one.
5. Birkenstock Boston Genuine Shearling Clog
Where to buy: Nordstrom
Okay, how fun are these?! I love all the cozy things. And I will never say no to a cozy thing.
Linzi’s Note: You guys know I’m always intrigued when I see the words Birkenstock & shearling together…and this year they added “big buckle”…ooooh!
6. Ralph Lauren Wessex Dessert Plates
Where to buy: Nordstrom
I’ve always been a houndstooth girl. It was the print that made little me feel like a real adult. Shoutout to Laura for this fun find.
Laura’s Note: The inner preppy gal in me is in LOVE with these!
7. Anine Bing Ardon Monogram Hoodie
Where to buy: Revolve
I can attest to how great this hoodie is. Aliya wore it for an exciting project (coming soon), and it cinched perfectly above higher-waist jeans. It looked sporty, but in an elevated kind of way.
Aliya’s Note: I tried on Shana’s new hoodie, and I am obsessed. Even better, it’s on sale right now.
8. Madewell Terry Sweatshirt in Dot Daisy
Where to buy: Madewell
I love the crop and cut of this daisy printed crewneck. And a tiny daisy print always does it for me.
Shana’s Note: Someone please go grab this sweatshirt at Madewell. I’m swooning.
9. Topshop Funnel Neck Rib Sweater
Where to buy: Nordstrom
I love this entire outfit. This is what my realistic, holidays-with-the-fam outfit looks like. I don’t really do bright, holiday colors so a black turtleneck, white shirt peaking out, jeans, a fun bag and a statement boot? That’s the way I do the holidays. But, back to the Topshop turtleneck. It looks like the perfect neck length (not bordering on becoming a choking hazard like some), and I’ll always love a ribbed fabric. Something about the rib feels lush.
10. Free People Microphone Drop Waffle Knit Top

Where to buy: Nordstrom
See Shana’s note below for how I would also style this shirt. She nailed it. The swingy fit, the longer sleeves going over the hands, the waffle-knit fabric…LOVE.
Shana’s Note: I’m snapping up this cute, waffle-knit top by Free People to wear with my baggy jeans. I’ll pair it with my favorite Ref flats (in silver) and a silver bag. This bag works, but is too structured for me (or maybe just a *touch* too big), but more on that whole topic later.
11. FRAME Atelier Micro Flare Denim Dress
Where to buy: Shopbop
I’ve always loved this dress every single time I’ve seen it. It’s kind of a statement, but because it’s denim, it doesn’t feel like it would be too statement-y if ya know what I mean. I’d wear it with a thin, layering turtleneck, tights and tall boots for fall.
Shana’s Note: Oh!! My Frame dress is on sale at Shopbop.
12. GAP Mid Rise Metallic Baby Boot Jeans
Where to buy: GAP
I agree with S (see below) that this entire outfit is so good. As for the star of the show — the metallic bootcut jeans — that’s another great example of how to do holiday styling without all the color.
Shana’s Note: Outfit inspo of the week: This entire outfit from GAP seems like such a freaking cool way to put those old gray sweaters to use. And obviously, now I want black Sambas, too (even though white would still work with that outfit). But here’s the genius part: those pants are metallic, but the ‘cast iron gray’ is a more subtle take. Instead of reading like metallic pants, they read more like leather pants. It’s a small tweak, but makes a huge difference. They’d also be amazing with black sweaters, too.
13. Madewell The Harlow Wide-Leg Pant
Where to buy: Madewell
I have to try these trousers. The reviews are bananas good. “Unicorn pants” sold me.
Linzi’s Note: I just ordered these pants everyone has been RAVING about — I have to see if they’e as good as everyone says (hoping they might break up my jeans-every-day routine.)
14. Vince Boiled Cashmere Funnel Neck Pullover
Where to buy: Nordstrom
A classic black sweater is a fall, winter necessity. When it’s cashmere? Oh, yes.
Shana’s Note: Vince’s boiled cashmere is thick and soft – almost like old-school cashmere sweaters. It’s a good one.
15. Eileen Fisher High Waist Wide Leg Ponte Pants
Where to buy: Nordstrom
When I first saw these pants on Nordstrom, I didn’t think much of them. But then I saw Julieta’s post styling them up, and yeah she’s right. They’re pretty dang good.
Julieta’s Note: While I’m more of a “full-length, wide-leg pants” person, the moment I tried on these black ponte pants, I knew they’d be very useful in my closet. The length works perfectly with sneakers and other flat shoes, while also being perfect for pumps, sandals or high-shaft ankle boots. They have a ton of potential to dress down or up and style them for different temperatures.
16. Faherty Cala Linen Crop Top
Where to buy: Nordstrom
For anyone living with a hot fall — this top. Those sleeves and neckline are so interesting.
Shana’s Note: Best thing on sale at Nordstrom? This cute top for hot fall days. It’s linen, but more top than t-shirt, and would look amazing with high-rise anything (skirts, shorts, denim, trousers). Would also be cute layered over a slipdress, and the color is perfect for fall.
17. Free People Mystic Mary Jane Flats
Where to buy: Nordstrom | Zappos
These are the ballet flats I’ve been eyeing ever since Shana got herself a pair. And then Abby got them in the silver/goldish color. Needless to say, they’re doing a really good job at tempting me with them. They seem to work with nearly everything.
TME Note: We LOVE the silver hardware detail on these. It adds a little edge to the ballet flat vibe, which made every outfit feel special. These flats are buttery soft and the strap sits comfortably around the ankle.
18. MOTHER The Hustler Roller Flare Jeans

Where to buy: Saks Fifth Avenue
I love the wash of these MOTHER jeans, and I think that crop would be perfect for my shorter frame.
Em’s Note: Hot tip: if you really want to see *every single* split end on your head of hair, head for the Palo Alto Anthro fitting rooms on a September afternoon. That lighting. Yikes. Better tip? I fell in love with these Mother Hustler Roller jeans while there, and then realized they’re actually part of Saks’ Friends & Family sale! These are investment-worthy jeans, friends. Super great butt, easy fit (they’re called a flare but they looked much less flared on me than the model — almost more like a baby wide leg), suuuper comfortable and the wash is perfection, getting gradually darker toward the hem in a way that’s subtly interesting and feels very high-end. Wearing my true size here (25), but a friend who has broader hips than me suggested going up one.
19. Clarks Orianna 2 Boot
Where to buy: Nordstrom
I’m still on the lug-sole boot bandwagon. I love the sleek shaft combined with the heavy-duty sole that’s perfect for walking in snow.
Linzi’s Note: Not sure if I’m doing a full comfort shoe round-up on TME for fall, but if I do…definitely including these.
20. Sorel Joan Now Waterproof Chelsea Boot
Where to buy: Nordstrom
Similar to a chunky, lug-sole boot — these Sorels have that sleek shaft and thicker sole but are a little more understated. Again, seems super promising for the muck in winter.
Scotti’s Note: I recently tried on a TON of waterproof boots and these Sorel boots were far and away my favorites. I should have guessed because I’ve loved Sorels for years…like since I was a little kid (and I buy them for my kids now as well!). They’re always super comfortable and warm and I love that these are also waterproof. They come in a number of different colors (I was torn between these and the lighter beige), and the lug sole and higher shaft make them perfect to pair with cropped jeans.
Hope this gave you guys some fall outfit inspo!

Hey, Pinners…

I have a basic Longchamp Le Pliage tote… and they are very basic. One small pocket on each side, for phone/keys/lip balm. The rest is open space. They are… fine, and less expensive than I used to think (I guess we are all used to spending more on bags now, lol). My ‘secret’ is to buy the seasonal colors, which do go on sale at Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack. Black and navy won’t be on sale, but coral and lime green eventually will.
