I’ve spent nearly every winter weekend for the past 10-plus years at a ski resort.
My kids have been on alpine-race teams and, more recently, freestyle ski and snowboard teams. So, whether they’re training, racing, competing or just enjoying (I especially love our zero-pressure family ski trips), we’re almost always at the mountain.
Over the past 10 years, I’ve developed a formula for packing for ski trips that easily scales from a quick, easy visit to a weeklong family trip (that often includes a flight).
The Ultimate Ski-Trip Packing List: From Hitting The Slopes To Aprés-Ski Essentials
Whether I’m headed to Aspen, Big Sky or Stowe, here’s the shortlist of things I almost always bring.
In this video, I include my go-to ski kit for on-slope activities, give advice on whether to rent or buy your gear, an easy formula for aprés-ski outfits, as well as what I bring for lounging around the resort and checking out the town.
Links to everything can be found in the description under the video (on YouTube).
Cheers to winter adventures!!

Make sure your kid’s mittens are waterproof!
Shana you are a genius! I’m not a skier and would rather go someplace warm in the winter but as a chronic overpacker I really loved this.
Love this! So helpful. I ordered the Halfdays Lawrence jacket. I love it but the arms are SO long on me. Any recs for great, warm ski jackets with short-ish arms? Or that come in petite? Thanks!
