At the start of every season, I find myself in the same predicament: I basically need to overhaul my wardrobe. Yes, slightly dramatic, but also mostly factual. Something about that first chilly morning at the bus stop makes me panic about my lack of appropriate fall layers. It’s all a bit more intense this fall given our recent move.
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve likely noticed that I finally organized my closet (yep, nearly four months after the move), which involved a lot of parting ways with items that no longer bring me joy. Of course, that leaves room for me to add more joy, which is where Amazon’s new fashion line, The Drop comes in. According to the brand’s Instagram, it’s a “limited-edition fashion collection designed by global influencers.” Awesome, right? Well, the catch to scoring one of these made-on-demand looks is that collections drop without any notice and are only available for 30 hours or less.
That’s a bit intense for me, but never fear, The Drop also has a growing line of permanent, chic staples to supplement your wardrobe (AKA, pieces you DON’T need to shop in 30 hours or less) so that’s what you’ll see me try below. Before we start, here are all my style stats:
- Typical clothing size: 10/M/L (All items TTS unless size up/down indicated; I can generally size up/down one size)
- Typical shoe size: 9 (All items TTS unless size up/down indicated; I can generally size up/down half-size)
- Height and Body Shape: About 5′ 3″ and curvy
Chic Staples From The Drop by Amazon
Look 1: Black Trousers & Turtleneck Tee
I don’t have many slim trousers and these are making me rethink that. I sized up to a L, and the fit and length were perfect. The pants have a front zipper closure AND an elastic band in the back, so they’re super-comfortable. They’re unlined, which is expected at this price point. I styled it with a stretchy turtleneck tee that will be on repeat this season. It’s thin enough for layering and chic enough to wear alone. I finished the look with silver mules, which are a great transitional shoe for fall. I love how it ads My leather tote is from Amazon’s line, The Fix. I’ve had it for about six months; it’s taken a beating because I carry it daily, but it’s still in great shape.
Look 2: Skinny Jeans
I sized up to a 31 in these skinny jeans, but I probably should’ve stuck with my typical size 30. They were a smidge loose in the waist/crotch. Otherwise, I thought these were a solid pair of skinnies. They have a great amount of stretch, but with enough support in the waist. I love the wash and minimal distressing so I can wear to work. The tee was comfy and I can’t ever pass on camo! The silver mules are one of my favorite pieces I tried; I love how they elevate this laid-back look.

Outfit 4: Utility Pocket Top (L, sized up) | Skinny Jeans (31, sized up) | Metallic Mules (9) | Clutch | Earrings (set A0)
Look 3: Straight-Leg Jeans
Watch out Wedgie jeans! These straight-leg ankle jeans are so good! I can’t ever get Wedgie sizing right, so I was thrilled with the perfect fit of these jeans. They were a little snug at first, but I could hear Julieta telling me not to size up. I kept the styling simple with the turtleneck tee that I’m absolutely loving!
Add A Wrap (And Snake Print Booties)
Outfit 1: Turtleneck tee (M) | Straight Leg Jeans (31) | Metallic Mules (9) | Earrings (set A0)
Outfit 2: Turtleneck tee (M) | Straight Leg Jeans (31) | Metallic Mules (9)| Leather Tote | Earrings (set A0)
Outfit 3: Turtleneck tee (M) | Straight Leg Jeans (31)| Blackwatch Plaid Wrap (OS)| Snake Print Booties 9.5 | Earrings (set A0)
Look 4: High-Waist Leggings
I get it, there’s nothing mind-blowing about black leggings. We all have and love them, so I’ll keep it simple. You should consider these if you need a nicer pair you can wear to work. These have two pockets on the back like “regular pants.” Real classy and really comfortable. The high waist is always a plus, so I’ll forgive the length being a tad long for me (friendly reminder that I’m 5’3″). I styled it with the softest mock neck sweater from Amazon’s line simply called “Find.” I feel like fun sleeves are having a moment, so this is definitely on-trend.
Look 5: Satin Midi Skirt & Stretch Hoodie
I really love this look. Honestly, I’d wear it on date night or to work. Styling the hoodie with the satin midi skirt gives a relaxed, cool-girl edge. I’m so happy that satin midi skirts are still having a moment, so you’ll definitely want to try this one. I have two others from different brands, and this one fits the best in the waist. The hoodie is so soft and stretchy, when you come home from work, just throw on your fav leggings and kick your feet up. Speaking of feet, if you’re like me, you may have gone straight to these kitten-heel booties. Would you believe they’re only $40! Such a steal for adding prints to your look.
Satin Midi Skirt, 2 More Ways
Outfit 1: Faux Leather Moto Jacket (M) | Stretch Hoodie (L, sized up)| Red Satin Skirt (L, sized up) | Snake Print Booties (9.5)| Earrings (set A0)
Outfit 2: Square Neck Bodycon Dress (L, sized up)| Red Satin Skirt (L, sized up)| Snake Print Booties (9.5)| Earrings (set A0)
Look 6: Square Neck Bodycon Dress
If you’re a fan of understated sexy, you’ll want to try this dress. The square neckline is so flattering (you were right, Shana!). You can’t wear a regular bra with it though, so strapless is the way to go. I’m also wearing Spanx Higher Power shaping shorts for a nice, clean line that still embraces my curves. Trent gave this dress two thumbs up, go figure!
Look 7: Faux-Leather Moto Jacket
It’s bad luck to pass on trying a moto jacket, so I had to give this one a go. I wasn’t sure about it on the hanger, but it looked really great on, so I guess that’s what really matters. It’s a good weight for fall temps, and would still work with a light to mid-weight layer. If I didn’t already have three, I’d add this baby to the collection. I guess I’ll just live vicariously through you.
Look 8: Trench Coat
Well, hello, rainy season. This trench coat is amazing quality; it’s so much thicker than the one I currently have, which I love. I mean, generally, if it’s raining in the fall, it’s chilly, too. It runs TTS; I’m wearing my usual M and could probably swing a blazer-type layer underneath. Not a ton else to say about this classic except, if you’re in the market, it’s worth a try. We’ll be twins.
Look 9: Blackwatch Plaid Wrap
Can you say “cozy?” This wrap looks as good layered with the turtleneck and trousers as it does with the trench coat. In fairness, it’s from the Amazon brand Goodthreads, but it was too good not to try out here. Same goes for the shoes (Amazon brand Find.). Anyway, back to the wrap: Try cinching it with a belt for more definition in the waist. It comes in two other colors, and they’re all perfect for fall.
Welp, that’s it! I had so much fun with this. The Drop has some seriously good pieces. Of course, it all ships Prime (some one-day), so all your last-minute fall fashion freakouts are covered. There are so many more items from Amazon’s other lines (find., The Fix, Cable Stitch, Lark & Ro) that I have or am eyeing, so let me know if you want to see more! Also, let me now which looks/pieces you love from this haul! Follow me on Instagram @BeingTiarra so we can chat all about it.
