We Have Swimsuit Confidence! (It’s a thing.)

Ok, Mamas!!  Get ready….it's Swimsuit Confidence Week!  We've teamed up with Lands End and the CurvyGirl's Guide, as well as 20 other bloggers to all loudly proclaim:

(as I use my cute baby to strategically hide the pooch)

Swimsuit Confidence week was started to celebrate women of all shapes and sizes, and inspire them to have fun this summer!

So Mamas, let's stop agonizing over bikini season.  Let's stop obsessing over cellulite (unless it's your baby's).  Cankles?  Bring 'em.  Back fat?  Just don't look.  Stomach pooch?  Well…we've earned it.  Let's put our focus this summer in a happier place…and just have fun.  Life is so. crazy. short. and goes by in a blink.  I don't want to waste one more minute looking at the dimples on my bum when I could be kissing the dimples on Pax's.

With that said, here are my swimsuit confidence pics (and info on how you can win a Lands End swimsuit of your very own)…..

The folks at Lands End were nice enough to send over the Seaside Sheath in red.  I'm in love.  It's flattering, comfy, and doesn't require excess sweating/grunting/puffing to pull it on.  I think the ruching is just enough to do a decent job of pooch hiding.

In honor of Swimsuit Confidence Week, Lands End will be giving away 10 swimsuits a day, as well as a rash of other prizes (including a $500 gift card).  Want one?  Here's how you can participate:

  • Get the Twibbon – This will display the “I have swimsuit confidence!” Twibbon on your Twitter profile photo. Or send a tweet to @LandsEndPR proclaiming “I have swimsuit confidence!” #landsend for a chance to be entered to win a $500 Lands’ End gift card – winner announced May 27.
  • Participate in a Week of Tweets – Mark your calendar each day May 23 – 27, 2011 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. CDST so you can join in the series of National Swimsuit Confidence Week events on Twitter. Follow @LandsEndPR and tweet at #landsend for exclusive swimwear promotions and give aways.

Furthermore, all week on Ain't No Mom Jeans, we'll be talking mom-friendly swimwear!  I'll also be on our Facebook fan page Tuesday from 1PM-2PM EST to answer any swimwear questions!

Happy Swimsuit Confidence Week, Mamas!!  Here's to fun in the sun.

  1. Summer’s too short in the midwest to not have swimsuit confidence. My only requirement nowadays are no bum creepage or bum cleavage, and no way my toddler can pull off the top (goodbye triangle tops, it was a good run). You look great!
PS- Per your suggestion, I picked up a Lands End rashguard made of nylon, not polyester with a logo that reads “Great Lakes Surfing” double awesome!

  2. Tell Lands End that when they actually make a bathing suit for a person with hips, boobs, and stomachs……I’ll buy ten! Til then. Whatever. For me it’s not even about confidence. It’s about finding something that fits a chick that is breastfeeding and had a chest prior. Lands End doesn’t have anything that comes close to making me feel even want to leave the house. Meanwhile You look super cute! That suit looks good on you!

  3. OMG I just want to nibble on that baby! Luckily my six-month old is a chunky monkey, too. 🙂
You look great — love the suit! I don’t tweet but I’m looking forward to this week’s posts.

  4. That suit is awesome on you!!! Technically Land’s End doesn’t have any suits for someone with my cup size, but I could probably fake it in one of the ones with a built in sports bra, so I’ll play 🙂
And I’d love to hear your thoughts sometime on whether specialty swimsuits in cup sizes like G etc are worth it-I’ve never known anyone who had a swimsuit in a cup size instead of a Target/Kohl’s/DepartmentStore/trendy teen store suit right off the rack. I found some cute ones at FigLeaves.com but am unsure if it’s “worth it”, you know??

  5. Love it! The whole thing. What a great idea. I think I was born to worship the sun and frolic in the water. So bring on the swim suit! (: Thanks, Shana! And you look amazing! Love your red suit! xoxo

  6. This is so awesome. But I got my swimsuit confidence from p90x during nap time and pre=school. Pain, that’s my secret. LOL!

  7. Yay, you look amazing Shana! I have swimsuit confidence too, even in an old maternity suit from 2 seasons ago! Here’s the
proof, don’t die laughing. My Mom took this video over the weekend of me chasing down my 1st to apply the toxin-free sunscreen (currently 15 weeks prego w/the 2nd). Pax – what a CHUNK, I love him! Great job Mamma, he is such a healthy looking guy!

  8. I just showed the first picture to my husband since we have notoriously scrawny babies and he said, “That is one big baby and one tiny lady.” Thought you’d like to know that a man found you tiny. 😉
And I just want to squeeze your son’s rolls–they are too cute!

  9. YAY. I love this. I love everything about this, and I want someone to do a “postpartum body confidence” week, too.
You look amazing, and your baby is SO CUTE!!!
