We're all for stretching our wardrobes, here at Ain't No Mom Jeans, and we're all about mixing things up. So it seems only natural then, that we should also bring sportswear into the mix. I mean, aren't yoga pants a tired new mom's best friend? In this department, moms seem to be ahead of the curve. FabSugar (via Lucky Mag) is reporting sportswear to be a major trend on the Spring 2012 runway. As part of our partnership with Champion, I'm stylin' up a few key sportswear items for everyday wear.
Yoga Pants For Running Errands
I do this trick more often than I'd like to admit. Throw on your basic black yoga pants with cute, non-sneaker-y shoes, a sweater and add a cute scarf.

Out & About in My Track Jacket
Well fitting track jackets are actually a great way to take an outfit in a sporty-yet-chic vibe. One of my favorite going-to-a-ball-game outfits is basically a track jacket thrown on with skinny jeans and tall boots.
This time, I'm using a track jacket to reign in the volume on one of my (many) voluminous camis. After two kiddos, I am SO. SICK. of the empire waist silhouette, so this jacket brings a welcome update to a top that would otherwise sit unused.
And I'm not gonna lie – I kinda like the tutu feel goin' on.

I'm all for using what's in our closet – really, really using it – not just saving an item for a special purpose, whether that purpose is working out or going out. I think a truly functional closet has pieces that do double duty. And yoga pants and track jackets are high on my list of totally functional (yet totally stylish) double duty items.
How would you guys style these pieces? Is anyone else as addicted to their track jackets or yoga pants?

ps. While this is a sponsored post, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own. And never fear – we are pretty picky about which sponsored posts we agree to take on, and would never blog about products we didn't believe in.
pps. Did you see that we were nominated for Best Mom Fashion Blog at Parents.com? We just found out…which means that one of you, fabulous readers, must have nominated us. So THANK YOU! We're thrilled…and we be so honored if you'd vote.
Love my yoga pants. 🙂 I use them for everything BUT yoga, unfortunately!
Wait, so you are telling me I can wear yoga pants and a cashmere sweater and be on trend this season? I’m sold! -cheralyn
@Emily – LOL! Me too, sadly….it’s on my list…but….hunh. Never seem to get there.
@Cheralyn – Yeah, baby. That’s what I’m sayin’. 🙂
I am actually a yoga teacher, so on the days I teach, I usually keep my yoga pants on all day (unless I’m wearing yoga shorts, which is reserved for the studio and never, never for public!). I like to wear a fitted shirt with a largish cardigan and a scarf.
This post has been in my mind all week, as I’ve been wearing my yoga pants with my City Flats from Gap, my pooch-hiding sweater, and a big ol’ scarf (fall has arrived in Denver!). So thanks! I feel better about those life choices.
