Weekend 12.2

Hey Gang – We’re all exhausted over here. I’m going to skip my usual ramblings, and just dive into the fun stuff. Hope you guys are having a relaxing weekend. xo

*gasp* These Tory Birch sneakers took my breath away. They have the coolest old-school look, and I’m a sucker for navy & black accents (although, upon further inspection it’s more like bright navy + dark navy but still), and they’re literally on sale for $100. Also, the color is officially called ‘Snow White / Bright Navy’ and I LOVE IT.

Two girls walk into a Saks…Linz and I realized that we hadn’t been to the local Saks, primarily because it’s in this really old, standalone building on City Line Ave…in short, it’s a weird place. But walking in kinda felt like going back in time (complete with sweeping staircase) and we actually had a blast. I tried on all the tops in the sale section, and just when I thought I was over graphic tees, this Mother one came home with me. I think it’s the pretty colors, or the slight 70’s vibe (rather than the dark & edgy graphic tees I’ve been wearing for years). This tee is slightly oversized & slouchy, and looks amazing with my satin Nike dunks and baggy jeans (in ‘paradise found’).

Those baggy jeans, tho. I’ve been looking for a non-distressed (yet not-boring) pair of jeans for the winter, and Levi’s Baggy Dad Jeans (in ‘paradise found’) are my big winners. I have the 30″ inseam (32″ available at Nordstrom), and they puddle perfectly with my most-worn flat shoes: Adidas Gazelles, Gazelle Bolds, and silver ballet flats. Additionally, they look good with small heels (these), or my platform UGGs. Fit is TTS (I went with my usual 27).

Here’s the look: The reason I love the baggy jeans mentioned above is basically because they look like the elusive jeans the Topshop models are wearing (click the ‘brown’ sweater choice to see the outfit). It’s my new uniform.

Who even am I? I don’t know what is happening with Mother (or Frame or rag&bone or AGoldE) but I’ve really been struggling. Wit & Wisdom, on the other hand? That brand at Nordstrom that is only $88? They’re killing it. I just tried these carpenter jeans and these cords and both are freaking fantastic. Sizing is weird, tho, I wear a 4.

Plus size pick. This holiday dress is stunning. It’s wildly sexy, but with an *almost* casual ease. The combo is intoxicating. Love.

Another red dress! My jaw dropped when I saw Bev’s latest reel. Her red dress is by Tibi, and is a whopping 63% off.

My Christmas present. One of the benefits of going into Saks was being able to try-on a bunch of the Jennifer Fisher earrings. The textured Hailey earrings (three sizes available) are the absolute lightest and, happily, the prettiest, too. The 2.8″ diameter Hailey earrings are stunning, but a little too big for my face, so I went with the mini’s. They’re actually not mini at all – they’re the perfect size for everyday. That said, if you’re looking for a happy in-between, they also come in 2″. All are 25% off right now.

Stocking stuffer for mom & I. I love slipping face masks into stockings – it makes for a fun little pampering activity on Christmas day. This set of four from Peter Thomas Roth is perfect (and contains that pumpkin enzyme mask Scotti swears by). Ooo…a set of bigger jars are available, too.

Obviously yes. I absolutely should stick popcorn boxer briefs into the boys stockings this year…right?

Who’s a fancy girl? I’m clearly new to dog ownership because I was shocked(!!) to find that Ouai makes a dog shampoo. Aaand so does Biosilk (over 5K reviews, yo) and so does Kiehl’s. Actually, Kiehl’s also makes a cleansing spritz for in-between grooming treatments aaaand ok. I bought it.

I’m a fancy girl. Last year, I bought this Fleur du Mal top to wear whenever there’s a fun night out – I love it. I wear it over a cami (or bodysuit) and always get compliments. It’s really, really pretty on. Annoyingly (or happily), ASTR the Label just came out with an under-$100 dupe. I keep zooming in on the details, and it looks exactly like mine (except for the color).

Finally. Black-owned business Briogeo finally came out with gift sets for the holidays! I have my eye on their Scalp Soothing Solutions Set. This set contains a full-size shampoo and hair scrubber (my boys swear by these), as well as a travel size bottle of the scalp-friendly dry shampoo I’ve been wanting to try (other dry shampoos make my head itch).

Date night at home? Laurel just dropped the first installment in her 6-week long Bachata Partnering series!! It’s designed for, well, uh, me. Or people like me! So if anyone else wants to learn some fun moves with your partner, I cannot recommend these videos highly enough. Laurel is the most amazing dance teacher I’ve ever seen (she literally has decades of experience both dancing and teaching), and her personality comes out in these videos. Specifically for Bachata, Laurel has spent the last 7ish years developing this curriculum, and I’m pinch-me excited that she was willing to share it with us. It’s pretty special.

Happy weekend, Gang.
