Weekend 9.19

The above photo – of pancakes – is NOT AI. It is my actual photo, of actual pancakes I made for Pax before school the other day. Did he like them? No. No, he did not. Did they have blended-up lentils in them? Possibly. Are those two questions related? MIND YA OWN BIZNESS.

All I’m saying is that Raines would’ve loved them.

And how am I adjusting to Raines being away at college? Like a PSYCHO, OBVIOUSLY. Look at what I’m doing at seven o’clock in the freaking morning.

I just ordered the coolest freaking jeans: these. (But I bought them in petite.)

My daily earrings have been this pair. They’re pearls, but so freaking cool, and handmade in NYC – they’re some of the best quality earrings I’ve worn. We tried to stock them for the holidays last year, but there were so many supply issues that we’ve only been getting a handful at a time. This batch is technically for our upcoming holiday shop…but…have at it. These little guys go quick.

My two most-worn pieces – so far – from this year’s NSale: this tee and this bag. Both on sale right now.

I’m working on updates to The Cashmere Guide…and just ordered this sweater. It was my absolute favorite from a few years ago, but back then hardly anyone was carrying that brand (it’s French). Nordstrom is now carrying almost the full line, and I’m THRILLED.

On, this sweater looks like La Ligne…but it’s GAP! 100% cotton, soft, thicky and drapey – I am SO impressed.

The best gray sweater: Banana’s Merino-cotton crewneck sweater is available in ‘mushroom’ or ‘chrome’ and they are some of the prettiest shades of gray I’ve seen! OH WAIT – the mushroom is also available in a gorgeously textured v-neck sweater and…well, texture might win.

A seriously snuggly (but polished!!) layer for travel: this utility jacket (actually a sweatshirt!). Frank & Eileen’s triple fleece is flipping amazing, so I have high hopes. (Also at Nordstrom, if you care.)

The coolest work blouse I’ve seen in a while: this one. Put your hair up, add glasses. Whoa.

Fall outfit inspo: here. Rugby stripes, baggy jeans, ballet flats, trench, done. Love it.

I’m calling this bag a ‘modern heirloom’: Banana Republic – I literally gasped out loud. I don’t usually there for bags, but this one looks exactly like the ‘modern heirloom’ bag trend I talked about in this fall trends article.

OMG so happy: foldover waistbands are back and I ordered those pants SO FAST.

I love the double laces on these Adidas sneakers – such a fun pop of color.

Oooo…this under-eye concealer with SPF: RMS Beauty. The consistency is so nice (not gloppy or sticky), and it melts into the skin without settling into fine lines. SPF under the eyes is tough – they nailed it.

Only two left: I’m still wearing the heck out of this slightly-edgy heart necklace (waterproof, too – it’s a surf jewel) and these genuine sunstone bracelets. They’re subtle, and perfect for jewelry minimalists – they’re there, but more of a quiet luxury vibe than a bright pop of color. I’m into it.

Enjoy your weekend!

Pancakes, maybe?

xo,

S
