Like Cam, I’ll get straight to the point…the sales are really good, and I think I like this whole “early Black Friday drawn out over weeks” thing so much better than our usual crazy rush around Thanksgiving. In fact, just this morning I got a ton of emails about Black Friday preview sales…like Madewell (love this sweater–50% off), J. Crew (this coat is on its way for me to try–50% off), Express (everything is 50% if you sign up to be an insider–it’s free–otherwise everything is 30% off), and Banana (this washable blazer is 60% off!) just to name a few…we have our first Winter Weather Advisory here, so you know I’m going to be curled up on the couch at some point this weekend “window shopping” these sales. We are SO excited about Halloween, you guys. No idea what we’re going to do or if we’re actually going to go anywhere other than our living room, but we WILL dress up. And we WILL eat candy. That’s enough (at least for me). Everything else…I feel like we’re just holding our breath and waiting to see…Covid numbers in Philly, the election, if we will get to see any family at all for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Happy Friday, y’all! It is frigid here this morning in Colorado, and I have to say I am totally here for it! I love when it’s cold and you can cozy up with your favorite blanket drinking something warm. Speaking of drinks, every year my family hosts a white elephant party, and this glass just seems so appropriate for 2020! Anyway, onto the sales — which are beyond good right now!

Hey hey, Friday! Hope everyone is enjoying October, as much as possible. It’s definitely my favorite month. Pinky and I just celebrated our 10-year anniversary yesterday with a little mini jaunt to our favorite place, The Columbia River Gorge. It is one of my favorite places on Earth. We had planned to take a trip to let me eat all the food in New Orleans, but ya know, 2020. We’ll save that for another year. We did a short little hike along the Washington side of the Gorge yesterday afternoon, and it was glorious. Make this area a destination when we can travel again, for sure!
Sales are pretty incredible this weekend on some really go-to pieces. My favorite jeans I’ve found in a long time (that aren’t distressed), the new Slim Demi boot, are on sale at Madewell with code SNEAKPEEK. They run true to size and are so flattering I bought them in two colors. They have stretch but are also fairly structured (in the black wash at least.) I love them. Post coming soon. Be sure to snap up one of the softest mock neck sweaters from J.Crew. Tons of items there are HALF off right now with code FRIDAY and sale is an additional 60% off. Score! Em’s Sale Picks
Hey hey, friends. It’s been a gorgeous week here on the coast. October is truly one of the best times of the year here, weatherwise, so we’ve been beaching it up during the day and then cozying up to re-read the Harry Potter series (ugh, I wish J.K. Rowling would get her act together so I would feel less cringe-y about admitting this…) when the fog rolls in for the evening. Truly my favorite time of year.
We’ve got a few knick knacks leftover from the super low-maintenance kids’ Halloween fest we threw last weekend (I just published a full post about it here), so we’ll probably do a little Round Two of donut decorating and pumpkin painting. We’ve also been making double batches of our favorite Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and baking off six at a time, so we have fresh, hot cookies almost every day.
Fave sales this week? This Rebecca Minkoff MAB Backpack, which combines the details and hardware of her bestselling MAB with a classic backpack shape, is under $75. This delicious Vince sweater and this investment-worthy Vince trench are both on sale at Verishop (not part of the 20% off sale — they’re just super marked down in the always-tempting sale section). And these Donald J. Pliner mules couldn’t be more classic, and 80% off makes them under $50. I mean…what. Insane. I didn’t include them below, but there are great deals to be found at Madewell, too, like this refreshingly not-at-all-trendy sweater (50% off with code SNEAKPEEK) and these are quite possibly the most tasteful face masks I’ve seen. My sales picks are happily a little all-over-the-place, much like my brain this week. I’m only weeks away from my due date, and as those Braxton Hicks take full swing, it’s been a nice little distraction to peruse the internet for some good deals. My favorite Kylie Cosmetics eyeshadow palette is on sale at Ulta — it’s my go-to kit for when I’m photographing weddings, and I personally think it’s epic for blue eyes. Zulily has one of my fave Madewell jeans on crazy good sale, which I imagine will go QUICK. Light brown cardigans and jackets seem to be all the rage for fall, and Abercrombie has this beauty on sale — with an additional 25% off for members AND free shipping over $75, whoop! I plan on keeping the online retail therapy going as I stay rested on the couch and hydrated waiting for baby — so here’s to all of us scoring great deals this weekend! Cheers!

We’ve been sleeping in the basement with our kids for two weeks. My husband got tired of the old crunching floors in our 100th-year-old small house, so we’re having them replaced. Of course, once you start, you want to change more, so…it’s taking a while. My 3-year old, on the other hand, is super excited about his “new room.”
This week, the jacket and wide-leg jumpsuit I featured in this post are on sale for a limited time! I highly recommend both. I’m also super excited about Mango’s 30% or 40% sale, depending on what you spend. This wrap coat and this faux fur jacket are high on my list. Last, what color would you choose? I love this Patagonia jacket but I’m torn between the olive and the light balsamic color. Help!
