How is it Labor Day ALREADY? Boo.
A Labor Day Sales Report: Bye, Summer Fun…Hello, Fall Fashion!
But in happier news, Labor Day Sales have been in full swing this week and as always, we’ve been working on the best possible coverage we can for you. In case you missed ’em, these are live:
- Best of J.Crew’s Labor Day Sales
- Best of Abercrombie’s Labor Day Sales
- Best of Backcountry’s Labor Day Sales
Those retailer-specific posts are always fun but I happen to love the treasure hunt that is our Weekly Sales Report. Our team has pulled together some pretty great stuff. But my favorite pick of all? This $9 white tee. Why do I feel like it has some serious Buy-It-In-All-The-Colors potential?
Happy long weekend, everyone.

Hey, hey, Friday. Whew. We made it this far, friends. All I can say is fashun distraction is just what I need right now for a minute. I tend to share a lot of social justice info on my IG stories and then this space is generally for a little mental departure from that. I hope everyone is able to take some space for your mental health rn, too. Sending out good energy to anyone affected by anything heavy rn. Xo
The sales are enticing this weekend, y’all. Not only is that cute striped puff sleeve Minkoff top I have on sale, but these rad straight leg MOTHER jeans in one of our fav washes are, too. Oh AND my Rails one shoulder top, too! Dang! Nice finds to end the summer.

Greenlea started school this week and per usual I have all of the bittersweet, conflicting emotions that happen when a new year begins. She’s loving 2nd grade (all two days of it) and is excited to see all her friends again. And true to her word, she wore the exact outfit she said she would on her first day. Gosh I love her.
Also, I can’t believe how good these Levi’s bootcut jeans are, and they’re 40% off right now! (See them in my latest post…it feels so good to be “back at it” and posting again!)

Well…it has been another wild week. In the news, in the weather, in the world… and once again I’m grateful to be sitting in my kitchen (that is completely dry unlike the kitchens a couple blocks away), drinking my coffee, taking a break from all the “things”, and scrolling the Friday sales for you all.
Can we start with WHY oh WHY did I not know about the new Dyson Vacuum Outsize? Bigger bin, longer run-time, and lasers…yes LASERS for detecting particles you can’t see. It’s included in Dyson’s Labor Day Sale. For closet updates…the best designer deals are at Saks (this top and these jeans are in my cart), the best stripes are at Nordstrom (I own and love this one and this one), and make sure to check out this everyday cardigan on MAJOR sale at J.Crew. Finally, if your kid likes soft pants….these.

Hey there, Friday! Like magic, the weather cooled off here in Michigan the moment the calendar flipped to September. We’re talking 66-72 degrees for the 10-day forecast, and I’m feeling very lucky and thankful for it. That means I can pull out my more cozy items, like this hooded cardigan I’ve been non-stop posting about, and because of that piece, I’m having a current little love affair with Gap in general (Labor Day sale is 50% off tees/shorts/sweats, 30% off rest of purchase!). I’m trying their Oversized Hoodie in “fawn beige pink” next! And remember those amazing Agolde ’90s dupe jeans for just $22 from Target?? This weekend only you can score them 20% off, just sign into your account (or create one, it’s quick) and click the little coupon underneath the item name! Xx

My brother and future SIL are visiting us from Texas this weekend, which gave me the opportunity to finally tackle the guest room. I added this gorgeous bedspread, some gold accents, and these handy charging stations to the room. I’ll share on my Instagram how it turns out, but it’s coming together! For many reasons Texas is on my mind right now. It’s hard to watch what is happening in my former state. If you’re like me and need action items, consider donating to the TEA Fund. I used to volunteer on their phone lines and it made a big impact on me.

I am finally in the clear for closing on my house!!! I officially close Tuesday afternoon, and could not be more excited for this next chapter of my life. With that said, it couldn’t be better timing for me to start shopping for furniture, and let me tell you all…the home sales are beyond good this weekend! I found the best 7-in-1 air fryer, from iron chef Geoffrey Zakarian and it’s such a steal! If you are looking to add a few home decor pieces, Anthro has you covered with 20% off their fall decor, and if you are into modern minimalism decor like me, then check out this bed from CB2.
I’ve also got my eye on a few fall pieces, like this jacket, plus the UGG slippers I’ve been eyeing for months are now $54! I hope you all have a beautiful long weekend filled with good weather, great food and a lot of love and laughter. XX – Kat

Hi friends. Been a bit of a weird week over here. We received confirmation a couple of days ago that our family’s cabin was lost to the Caldor fire. It was so much more than a cabin to my family and my step-dad’s family, in particular, who spent entire summers up there every year since childhood. I feel so lucky to have made loads of memories there during my own childhood, but I’m also sad for the memories Lana will miss out on. Fortunately, kiddo optimism is the best medicine, and she cheerily announced that “we’ll just help Grandpa Bry rebuild it!” which prompted Chris to introduce her to this Revenge of the Nerds gem. There are few things a good ’80s montage can’t improve. (Also, I know I shouldn’t love Curtis Armstrong’s t-shirt, but it just kills me dead.)
Feeling a bit perked up by sales — namely this phenomenal dress that gives me all the Cruella vibes — I’d adore the excuse to punk it up a bit. And more practically, Gap has me feeling ready for fall. This plaid shirt jacket is already en route to me, and I’ve been eyeing my surprise hit barrel jeans in a darker wash (I wear them true to size). They’re sorta like a mom jean with a bit of a ’90s, skater vibe. All good things. Have a good weekend, pals.
Em, So sorry to hear about the loss of your family’s home. Starting to hear more and more about loss from the Caldor fire. You are right though, an 80s musical montage does fix a multitude of problems.
