A few updates from last week: I got the J.Crew straw shopper bag in and it’s great….under $40, a perfect size to carry all the things, but not too big that it totally overwhelms me. I’ve been carrying it all week—so glad I ordered it. Also, I finally finished the Summer Comfort Shoe Guide…woohoo! If you missed it, check it out, and make sure to scroll down to the comments. It’s the weekend again already?! Wedding season is in full swing, which means I get to attend a bunch of gorgeous parties and eat cake and try not to get sunburnt (I’m a wedding photog)! This weekend holds both an engagement session and a wedding for me, and the weather forecast has thankfully cooled off a bit which will be lovely. This is the secret weapon in my makeup kit on long wedding days. Use with a brush like this on your brows, and it’ll keep them in perfect shape ALL DAY LONG (and it’s way better than those expensive brow gels on the market!!). I also must tell you that MANGO is having a Friends & Family sale this weekend – 30% off, and they have soooo many dresses like this one that would be incredible to wear as a wedding guest!! Xx

Have you gotten all of your sandals for this summer yet? Well, that’s one thing I’ve been procrastinating on until this weekend. Gang! Saks OFF 5TH and Nordstrom are having the greatest shoe sales. I just snagged these Madewell ’90s-inspired sandals in both colors. Crossing my fingers they’re as cute as they look online. I’m also very curious about these denim shorts by Joe’s Jeans. Soooo apparently 90+ degrees is hot even if it’s a “dry heat” (SHOCKING I know). I have been living in these Outdoor Voices Bike Shorts (thx Amy!) and might pull the trigger on these Madewell shorts (up to 30% off with code: SUNFUN). These are the shorts for people who hate high-rise shorts. (Size down 1-2 sizes, trust me). My go-to necklace is also on sale. Otherwise, we’ve just been enjoying exploring our new home state of Colorado (weekend family hikes? adorbs) and getting ready for our first real summer vacation since 2019!
Em’s Sale Picks
Back from our long weekend in Truckee/Tahoe and it was such a fun getaway. We stayed mid-mountain at Northstar, so we hiked to coffee in the morning and spent the afternoons at the pool surrounded by the vanilla scent of jeffrey pines. As Varvatos Vex would say (any Tales of Arcadia fans out there?): GLORIOUS.
As for sales, this is one of those weeks where I’ve actually got more than half of these items in my cart, and I’m attempting to narrow things down. The discounts are great, but the pieces all feel really wearable. This pretty little set feels like a Drunk Shopping pick, but it caught my eye right away — the tiny cap sleeves give me major Bridgerton vibes, but the idea of the whole thing gives me Bridgerton vibes ifyouknowwhatImean. (In plus size, too.) And then on the other end of the spectrum is this easy jumpsuit, which looks like it would hang away from the body just right (while still showing enough skin up top to feel delightfully summery). Happy Friday, beautiful people! It’s been a crazy week in my world, and I am so happy to be on a mini solo vacay right now. Currently, as I am typing this, I am sitting at my favorite cafe in my old neighborhood in Columbus with the best breakfast tacos. If you are ever in Columbus you have to go to Katalina’s…and try the pancake balls! I promise you will thank me. I am so excited for a weekend filled with friends and lots of love and laughs. One of the summer dresses I brought with me is currently on sale for $17.50 in the color gray, and all the other colors of this dress are a steal too for $35! Happy Friday, guys! Thought I’d pop in this week to share some pieces I came across that I may or may not be adding to my cart as we speak. I’ll be honest, though…I’ve never been a big summer fashion girl. You won’t get much of that out of me. If anything, I lean towards transitional pieces that can work in all the seasons (like a classic denim jacket)…but you’ll see I especially can’t escape planning my wardrobe for fall (hello, teddy trench). And with the sales? C’mon! But, I guess (sigh) I do need some summer pieces. It’s time for a new bathing suit, and I simply can’t get over this one-piece from Onia or Madewell’s plaid bikini top and high-waisted bottoms. They’re both right up my street. Decisions, decisions, guys.

Honestly, I’m a cold-weather-lover, so all this 90+ degrees business here in Philly is killing me slowly. BUT my plants are thriving, and my roommate and I just started up an herb garden on our balcony sooo…I guess the heat is fine. The temptation to get more plants means I’m in Terrain’s sale section, and I’m tempted by all these bright Colorful Stoneware Pots I’m seeing.
If I can restrain myself from getting yet another plant, I do really need new workout clothes now that my gym is open. Adidas has always been a go-to for me and my initial look at their sale section made me excited. This freaking jacket is so weirdly cool and gives me such wild NASA/Star Wars retro nonsense vibes. Like I want it…so bad. BUT I am going to behave and order these fun Egle Graphic Pants instead which I know will get good use in the weight room.

We’re finally getting a bit of a rainy break here in Philly (a relief after a week of 85+ and a broken A/C), but I’m still in the mood to go full-swing into summer. I’m also currently packing up to move in a month and as I’m packing — gasp — I realize I have a serious lack of basic essentials to carry me through the next several weeks.
SO. I’m on the lookout for some easy outfit-makers, timeless grab and go options that can take me from picnics in the park to late-night dessert runs. I gravitate towards easy graphic tees (this one’s a go-to), plus breezy bottoms like these during the warmer months. And, since I’m shopping anyways, might as well check out some cute decor for my new place (this pillow is speaking my name) and a lil’ something special for my purr-baby (it doesn’t get cuter than this macrame hanging bed). It’s beginning to feel like summer, and what an amazing feeling that is! Inspiration is blooming to start my annual closet clean-out where I donate a bunch to make room for new finds. This season, I’m feeling extra optimistic, which for me, means I want to add bright colors, happy prints, and statement pieces to my closet (even though that’s all I already have in there). These shorts caught my eyes right away especially because there is also a matching top (I LOVE sets). Also, so exciting, Olaplex Hair Perfector is on sale right now, which I use after every shower on my roots for a smoothing leave-in conditioner. I hope everyone has a lovely weekend!
