We’ve officially hit that weird in-between: hot afternoons, cold nights, and surprise rain just to keep things interesting. The hardest part? Getting dressed without regretting it two hours later. So, transitional outfits for spring is where we’re at.
Think: short-sleeve tops with pants or easy denim that won’t leave you sweating by 2pm, plus a lightweight rain jacket thrown on top for when the temperature drops (or the skies open up, because of course they do).
Transitional Spring Outfits for Unpredictable Weather (From Nordstrom)
I did my usual perusing through Nordstrom’s newest arrivals for the outfit inspo I desperately need right now. As per, you can find all of these outfits on our Nordstrom storefront, too.
Spring Outfit Idea 1: Overalls & A Cute Tee
I’ve been peeking at ivory overalls for forever at this point and it’s about time I take the plunge. They feel super fresh for spring and easily transition to the other seasons, too.

Spring Outfit Idea 2: Moody Tones & Printed Jeans
Now, of course I had to make things a little moody. Regardless of the season, I’m still wearing my dark chocolate browns, gray, navy and black tones. Mesh ballet flats and printed denim add a spring feel (and I’m reaaally loving polka dots right now).
Spring Outfit Idea 3: Denim, Cute Tops & Sneakers
Jeans, a cute top and low-profile sneakers will never not be in my wardrobe. To make medium and darker wash denim feel a little more spring-ready, I’m leaning into pretty accessories and opting for sneakers with a pop of color.
Spring Outfit 4: Embroidered Jeans & Light Layers
I’ve maybe said this 1000 times already, but I haven’t stopped thinking about Shana’s embroidered MOTHER jeans. It has me looking at allll the options out there, and now I’m tempted by the embroidery just on the cuffs, too. I’d style them a million ways, but I’m loving those scrunch tops, and that gingham rain jacket is just too cute to pass up.

Spring Outfit 5: Maxi Skirt & Everyday Tank
Maxi skirts were some of my most-worn bottoms for spring and summer last year, so I’m sticking with ‘em again (love the lace hem on this Topshop one). I usually keep it simple with an everyday tank and flip-flops or sneaks to make it feel less precious.

Spring Outfit 6: Striped Pants & A Pop Of Color
The other printed pants I’m eyeing? Stripes. Nothing makes a simple tank feel more interesting. And a red rain jacket because…we’re fun sometimes.
Hope this makes dressing for that confusing spring weather a little easier.
