I have been trying out chunky boots for over a year now and truth be told, I have had a hard time finding the perfect pair for my wider feet.
I first fell in love with the super popular Prada lug-sole boots and had the chance to try them on IRL when I was in Aspen. But unfortunately, they were too snug around the top of my arch and overall run a bit on the narrower side. I tried several other types of GANNI boots that came in different color combinations, but for some reason, they just weren’t it for me.
5 Ways To Style A Chunky Heel Platform Boot
I recently decided to give the GANNI platform boot a try. These boots are perfection for me! They’re quite similar to the Prada boots I initially fell in love with, but they’re actually comfortable. Plus, they go with just about everything in my closet! I’ve been wearing the heck out of these boots, and really love how they look and feel.
Let’s get into several ways I have worn them over the past month!
1. It’s Punk But Grown Up: A Casual Edgy Outfit
One thing you might not know about me is that I was a pretty angsty teenager. I was a sucker for all the sad-girl music while I was in high school and loved My Chemical Romance, Evanescence, and Green Day (just to name a few). This outfit is exactly what I would wear if I were going to one of their concerts. It’s edgy, yet comfortable and while I consider it a great concert outfit, I’d also rock it to the grocery store. Oh and PS: the dress I’m wearing is from Old Navy — it’s one-shouldered and has pockets!
Catch a better glimpse of my most recent designer bag splurge: the Prada triangle leather shoulder bag. I bought this bad boy while I was in Aspen for a brand trip, and immediately knew I had to have it. This was actually the bag that I was hoping to buy as my birthday present back in April when I was in Miami, but it was unavailable at the time. I love how sporty this bag is — it’s big enough to fit a full-sized wallet, keys, makeup essentials, and your phone.

2. It’s Giving Major Ski Resort Vibes
Will you likely catch me with this outfit on the slopes? No. But is it an Aprés ski look? 100% yes! I bought this puffer from Free People — what feels like eons ago– in 2016. I kept it around because I loved the color so much. And it’s a good thing I did since Barbie Core pink is back in style! This jacket is super similar to my Free People Pippa packable puffer which also comes in a few shades of pretty pink colors.

3. It’s Me & My Matcha Looking Sporty Chic
On the rare days that I leave the house for a midday pick-me-up, I love to grab a green smoothie or matcha from one of my fave local spots. This look is quite honestly the most quintessentially me, it’s slightly sporty yet still elevated. The tall shaft boots help bring together that effortlessly cool vibe.

4. It’s ’90s Aesthetic Does NYFW
I am a ’90s baby through and through. I am loving the return of the ’90s grunge aesthetic and these chunky black boots fit right in! This was one of my NYFW looks. But it rained cats and dogs the day I wore it so, no great photos from the trip but I did manage to snap this pic below while packing. And yes, I typically take outfit pics of everything I plan on packing for major trips because it helps me to stay organized and I can see what all the outfits will look like over the entire trip.

5. It’s All Things Comfort
I love a good hoodie and leggings moment and was pleasantly surprised how much I loved these boots with a more relaxed and comfy look. All I need is a pumpkin-spice latte in hand and I feel like I will have fulfilled my hot girl fall uniform!
Well, by now I am sure you can tell that I really love these Ganni Chelsea boots and will be rocking them well into winter.
