Hey, hey, Friday! We made it. First week of school. I don’t know if “flying colors” is the right term, heh, but we made it to Friday. And there’s more sun in the forecast, and we have nothing on the calendar this weekend, and that feels SO good. Favorite family-friendly movies? (For a precocious tween is fine.) Please share in the comments — we’re running low on ideas. Maybe we’ll dive into past seasons of “The Amazing Race.” It’s gonna be lit over here this weekend. Don’t be jelly, LOL.
Sales are of course great as we head into the three-day weekend. I’m eyeing this gorgeous pair of brown boots, this sling bag (what?!), and just about everything at Madewell, including these lug-sole loafers that are 30% off. I think in brown?

Ozzie turned 5 this week and will start junior kindergarten on Tuesday…he went to his open house last week and was immediately right at home in his classroom, reading books on a bean bag chair. I think he’ll do just fine.
G is starting fourth grade and is auditioning for “Annie” this week. Shana and fam are up for Labor Day weekend, and she’s been practicing her audition for them — she’s such a little talent and so much fun to watch! These kids, man…they grow up so freaking fast.
As far as sales go…they’re GOOD this weekend. I just ordered this earring set from Anthro (extra 40% off in bag) and received these pants from Abercrombie in the mail. I love the fit and am ordering this jacket to go with them (just have to decide on the color)…all on sale! Happy Labor Day weekend, everyone!

ONE: Everlane’s Way-High Jeans come in a ton of washes (I’m wearing Coal here and have my eye on the Washed Black) and three different inseams for the perfect length. I love the way they fit and so do reviewers! (On sale for under $80, down from $118.)
TWO: Good American’s Palazzo Jeans fit SO well, I have them in two different washes. A light wash is on sale for $119 (down from $149) with code TAKE20, while the darker wash is down to $59 in bag (and both are also on sale at Nordstrom!). And while the cropped blazer isn’t on sale, at $34 it’s a steal! I might need to snag the black for fall. (Wearing an xs here.)

September?! WHAT! There might not be a chill in the air (like, anywhere — even my Michigan hometown is having a heat wave), but one thing is for sure: It’s officially “Gilmore Girls” season. While I happily watch it year-round, that show comes alive in a whole new way in the fall (IYKYK). And if you’ve never watched it?! Add it to your cozy-nights-in watchlist.
As for sales: I’ve been trying on a bunch of new denim (my favorite fall-time hobby, haha), and these jeans are shockingly good and marked down for the long holiday weekend. They wear very similarly to the AGOLDE ’90s jeans, but come at a much better price (if you’re scooping up multiple pairs to try, grab this pair too — the cuffed style is so good and fits like a glove). For something other than denim? THIS luxe cardigan-coat at 50% off. Sizes are already going fast, and I can assure you it’s worth every penny.

ONE: I’m a sucker for a good quilted coat, and this one is a perfect elevated wardrobe essential. The sleeve length is just right to be cozy but not overwhelming, and the longer body makes it really easy to throw over any outfit. Plus, the hood is detachable, making it easy to wear wear with both dressy and casual outfits! It’s on the lighter end — a perfect fall jacket for colder climates or winter coat for warmer climates. My usual size (large) would’ve been perfect for wearing bulkier clothes underneath, but seeing as I don’t layer up too heavily in San Diego, I like the way medium fits me!
TWO: Big sale weekends are the best time to scoop up a dreamy Jenni Kayne sweater. Use code LDWEVENT20 on my favorite cozy crewneck that was easily a most-worn item of mine last winter — or this one that I think might get added to my own cart next. All these sweaters usually run pretty oversized (you can’t tell since I have mine wrapped/tucked in the photo, but it hangs big and long — perfect for leggings). You can get away with a few different sizes depending on your preference!

I hate to be one of those people who constantly defaults to the weather, but if you’ll indulge me for a moment: We got four whole days of sunshine, and now we’re back to this overcast, misty situation that has everything awash in pixelated gray nonsense, and I’m just not ready for it. On the upside (sorta), we’re headed to Tahoe for the long weekend, which promises to be…also gray. Maybe even rainy! WHAT. It’ll be gorgeous and a welcome escape from the ordinary nonetheless (pine trees in the rain do smell kind of amazing), but come onnnnnn. Thank goodness the sales are good.
First stop on my must-shop list this weekend: Anthro (additional 40% off sale) followed closely by Gap. This statement-making jumpsuit has me very excited, and I can’t say no to polarized sunnies for $24. Planning to grab this crochet tank too, so I can play around with layering it up for fall.
ONE: Levi’s has all 15 washes (!!) of my favorite ribcage jeans on sale for 30% off. I prefer the ones that are strictly cotton/Lyocell (no elastane), so check the wash description. Wearing the After Love here in one size down from my usual.
TWO: If you haven’t yet nabbed these sandals, they’re such a pleasant surprise for the price ($26 after additional discount) — comfortable, packably slim, and easy to pair with just about everything in late summer. True to size. (The tote is on sale for $24 too.)

Happy Labor Day weekend, everyone! I hope everyone has a restful and relaxed weekend as we slowly usher in fall. It’s almost my favorite time of year in Grand Rapids: Art Prize, a collection of art installations placed throughout the city. It’s always awe-inspiring and a wonderful time to visit west Michigan.
As for sales, I’ve got my eye on Gap’s huge Labor Day event where almost everything is 40% off at checkout. Last night, I had a sleepover with my abuelita. When she got very ill last month and felt like she would leave this world, I kept crying because I’d promised to stay over my next visit. So yesterday, I returned to Bogota, packed my overnight bag, and left — just me. My tias who live with her were so excited, and after some chisme, I fell asleep next to Abuelita. Hopefully, I’ll see her next time.
Sales-wise, I’m finally starting to place orders since I’ll be back in NY next week. These Zella joggers look stunning, and finally my exact bag below is on sale.
ONE: AllSaints Allington Tote – Finally back in stock. This color has been sold out since July, and in my opinion, it’s the most versatile out of the three options. It’s roomy and structured, and I love the two strap options. I’ve been wearing it nonstop since I got it, and it’s one of the few bags I brought to Colombia.
TWO: Moonlight Short Pajamas (S) – These are my favorite fall pajamas. I love the long-sleeve top and the shorts — I hate pants, especially because I sleep over a grounding mat, and the pants would interfere with the benefits. They’re on sale in three colors, and I’m getting the tan.

Where did this summer disappear to?! I can’t believe it’s already Labor Day weekend. I hope you and yours are celebrating these last few weeks of warm weather. Rather than battling the crowds that will surely flood the campgrounds here in Colorado, I’ll be staying home this weekend and catching up on some work and creative projects. I’ll also definitely be perusing all of the awesome Labor Day sales to see if there are any items that are calling my name.
Right now, I’m eyeing the J.Crew sale because it’s pretty stellar (40% off a lot of new items and up to 60% off of sale items). I’m thinking of picking up the Regent blazer for workwear and these lovely linen pajamas for lounging. I also placed an order at Gap because these cargo jeans are so cool — I’m really hoping they fit!
ONE: My beloved J.Crew Parke blazer is 40% off right now. The quality of the cut and material of the blazer is excellent. I’ve had mine for over a year now, and I expect to have it for years to come.
TWO: This cute cropped Free People blazer I just featured in my “How I’m Styling These 5 Blazers for Fall” article is over 50% off right now at Nordstrom. This is just so versatile, and I love where it hits me (at my true waist).
