Hey, Friday. Whew. The mornings are getting darker here, and though it’s already 7:30 a.m. as I write this, it feels like 5 a.m. 😩😅 It’s what we get for living so far north. But enough about that, the sunrise is gorgeous, and I’m having pizza for dinner tonight, so…things are good. I’m actually in town this weekend, so I’m going to go watch Sienna’s soccer game tomorrow, pick up the house a bit (ugh) and just chill. If you have a great British show you’re loving rn, lmk. Has Anyone Tried These? I think these UGGs would look really rad with tights and leggings and skinny jeans, or wearable under cropped straight-legs AND be super-practical — the rain is starting here next week. I saw a woman waiting at the bus stop the other day who had something like this on, and though I’m not usually a tights gal, I’m OBSESSED.
Have I Found The Perfect Hoodie?? The video was SUPER-convincing, and I just ordered this one in Sand. Highly recommend watching the video on why she designed it the way she did. Thinking it will be my new throw-on-over-workout-clothes perfect topper.
Holidays-ish: Two things I’m eyeing up that will be perfect come December: this serious coziness in that green and this whole look I just posted about. Don’t fear, my friends, I start that article by saying I’m not one to want to skip over Halloween! If you know me, you know costumes are my fave! We got our flu shots this past week. The anticipation of getting the shot was just BEYOND for Greenlea. She sobbed and was so worried, and then — it was over. (She’s nothing if not a bit dramatic — NO idea where she gets that from.) We had some really good mama-daughter time last weekend: going out to eat just the two of us, shopping a bit, swimming at the Y. I love spending time with her, getting to know her personality. She’s really funny, and she makes me laugh out loud — but she hates my laugh (she says it’s too loud), so I have to tone it down a bit for her. One day she’ll appreciate it. Maybe. Happy Friday, everyone! The hubs and I FINALLY figured out family Halloween costumes that we’re happy with, but we need to spend the weekend trying to figure out how to ensure our little guy will be on board. I promise we’ll give in if he’s TOTALLY against it, but we think it’s a good one, so we’ve decided it’s worth a bit of extra time laying the groundwork for ultimate buy-in. Wish us luck… We take Halloween VERY seriously, so this of course feels VERY important. SO ecstatic my teenager is still willing to dress up with us. As I’m writing this, I’m eating an apple fritter my mom brought back from Apple Hill (major moment where our air fryer wins the reheating game, BTW) and texting friends about our plan for the 50th anniversary of Half Moon Bay’s famous Pumpkin Festival this weekend. So, I think it’s fair to officially say we’re in the thick of fall over here on the coast. We’ve bedecked our porch with all the Cinderella pumpkins too. And Lana’s halloween costume is well underway. She’s Clawdeen Wolf from Monster High, but all the prefabbed options were a little, ummmm…sophisticated, so we’re toning things down just a tad.
