Happy Friday! Sales are especially good this Presidents Day weekend, so let’s jump right in…starting off with an exciting 20% off Jenni Kayne’s ultra-luxe cashmere cardigans (use code 20COCOON). This cardigan is one of Amy’s most-worn pieces; the drapey cocoon shape is perfection, and it just gets softer with every wear.

Laura’s Top Sale Picks

Hey, hey, Friday! We did a belated Valentine’s date last night (I love going out but not on the actual day with all the craziness and prix fixe menus. Don’t tell me what to order, haha), so I’m a leetle groggy this morning…even though I still went to bed at 10:30 p.m. LOL.

If you’re in Portland (or when you visit!), do yourself a favor and get to Tusk (amazing Middle Eastern + Mediterranean cuisine) for dinner if you haven’t. It had been way too long since I’d been and omg. If you like THE creamiest hummus, roasty veggies and lots of smoky flavors, it’s definitely for you. Gah. I already want to go back. They had a really interesting Spanish skin-contact orange wine too. So good. OK, what am I here for? OH — yes, fashion and sales, haha.

Things I’m into this week, besides the sale stuff below? This denim jacket to top all denim jackets, gah… THESE track pants, and the boyfriend joggers Em looked freaking adorable in. I must have. And I cannot stop thinking about Shana’s Faherty hoodie. I’m thinking the sunrise colorway for spring. SO much great stuff on sale at Athleta too! Do not miss its pants. It has the best selection of versatile pairs to wear for both work and play. xo

ONE: These MOTHER The Rambler Straight-Leg Jeans I just got in are amazing. AND on sale at Saks right now! They’re seriously some of the softest jeans I’ve ever put on, and unlike most MOTHER jeans I’ve worn in the past, they run TTS (or even a bit big). Wearing a 29 but should’ve gotten a 28 here. Sweater | Boots

TWO: MOTHER Peacemaker Sweatshirt I’m back on the MOTHER Denim train, friends. Gosh, they have some amazing pieces at Saks right now. You’ll see more details coming soon, but grab the jeans above and this sweatshirt while they’re on sale! Jacket | Bag

Shana and I are both alumni of Michigan State, and the events there this past week just broke my heart. I’m so tired of hearing “thoughts and prayers…” They don’t even seem to carry any meaning anymore. If you’re interested, here are some things you can do right now to help end gun violence…and you can start by signing this petition to demand expanded background checks on gun sales.

And now, in the worst transition ever…the sales really are great this weekend. Colleen Rothschild is having a Customer Appreciation Sale where you can get up to $75 off your purchase. My go-to’s are the Sheer Renewal Cream and Retinol Supreme Night Oil. But let’s be honest, most of the skincare products I use are from Colleen Rothschild! (Check out my entire routine here — if it ain’t broke…)

ONE: The Stuart Weitzman shoes I wear with everything are OVER $300 off right now (down to $140 from $450). I LOVE these shoes, you guys. The 3-inch heel is perfect and comfortable. They’re my go-to for everything from distressed jeans to LBDs. Jacket (50% off) | Jeans (over $70 OFF at checkout)

TWO: These ribcage jeans from Levi’s are SO good…and 30% off! I love the rise and waist-defining fit. (Trust me, I like them — even though I look angry in this pic. 🤣)

I decided to ditch coffee, and I feel like I’m dying. It’s been almost two weeks, and I haven’t seen any of the so-called benefits (lower anxiety, more energy, less stress…actually the stress thing might be true). I’m just so tired All. The. Time. I think I’m still detoxing, though — it’s only been a LIFETIME ADDICTION, so I’m trying to give myself grace. But UGH. Once I feel like I’m alive again, I want to incorporate decaf back into my life because not tea, not lemon water, not bone broth (gag) can fill the void now inside of me (LOL).

On a happier note, yesterday I got to meet up with Kat here in San Diego and had soooo much fun (peep my insta stories for the fun of us together). Ever since leaving Michigan I’ve been missing my regular photo shoots with Scotti, so it felt extra-special to be with another TME babe!

Currently obsessed: eye patches to hide how tired I feel sans coffee | this minimal phone case | these jeans (30% off!!)

ONE: If you’re a fan of unique denim like me, runnnn to Saks, because its sale section is on fire right now. My latest MOTHER jeans are included, and they’re perfect for long legs. The jeans are just the right amount of loose while still having a flattering booty (tts). But ALSO, one of my most worn jeans as of late are included in a lighter color, and there are some seriously good unique MOTHER denim finds in general (I want these).

TWO: A go-to affordable tee (even better when on sale) that I pop under all my sweaters. It’s minimal, has the right height collar to peek out at the top, and is thin enough that it doesn’t add extra bulk.

I might have caught a cold and woke up feeling not so great this morning. So, I’m boiling water, adding dry eucalyptus leaves for a few minutes, and then breathing on the steam. That’s one of my abuelitas remedies to help with congestion and clean the air. There was a time in my life I rejected this ancestral wisdom, but I don’t anymore. Last year, I took a course with a woman from the Ecuadorian Andes to learn more about the spirit and power of plants, and I could recognize many of my abuelitas teachings. It’s my indigenous heritage, and I’ve never felt more myself.

ONE: Levi’s Low Pro – The only Levi’s I have in a lower rise (they’re mid-rise). They’re so relaxed and lightweight, and they’re my favorite to wear in the warmer months. I wear a 27, which has become my true size, and they’re slightly snug on my hips and thick thighs but relaxed on the waist and leg.

TWO: Quince has a very similar version to my beloved but discontinued Naadam cropped cardigan. I love wearing cropped cardigans as tops in the upcoming transitional weather, sometimes playing with the buttons and neckline to achieve a sexier look.

Hey, hey, it’s Friday! We’re starting to get ready for the vacay I referenced last week — packing for both sun (Palm Springs) and snow (Big Bear), and I’m just a leeeetle bit stressed out. For Palm Springs, I’ll for sure be bringing those Vuori Boyfriend Joggers that are so much cuter than I ever could’ve expected (full post here) and in the perfect desert-y hue too. And for Big Bear, I’ve got my trusty Sweaty Betty bibs that Shana influenced me to buy years ago. They’re one of the best investments I can think of if you even somewhat regularly ski. So warm, cute and, most important, comfy. (Annoyingly, they’re discontinued, but you can still find a few on eBay.) We picked up new snow boots for Lana too, and finally upgraded her from her cheapies to Sorels. They’re on sale all over the place, but Amazon has the best selection (and the fastest shipping, of course). Ugh. It’s a love-hate with that one.

On to sales! Abercrombie’s got 20% off three items — linking my three exact picks up in the shopping widget below. This silk cami at J.Crew looks perfect for layering and at a great price point. While there, I also picked up this lucite game for Lana’s Easter basket. It’s the kinda random, luxe find you’d play with at an Airbnb and wonder, “Why do they even have this?” But it’s more than $100 off (shocking, I know…) with code WEEKEND, so I couldn’t pass it up.

And it’s worth mentioning: Gap’s new arrivals section is SO FREAKING FUN. Not much of it is on sale (yet!), but it’s like a little ’70s bomb went off in their design HQ, and I officially want to wear all the things. These flares, this halter dress, this cheery linen tank. Is it spring yet!?

Cheers! Em

ONE: Not on sale, per se, but my Anine Bing blazer is part of Saks’ “spend more, get more” gift-card promo. It’s been excluded from most sales lately, so this is one way you can get the most out of your dollar since it’s admittedly an investment piece. I’m wearing an XS. Also: cashmere hoodie | boots | similar leggings | belt bag (also included in the Saks promo)

TWO: I can’t say enough good things about this Retro-X Fleece Jacket, and it’s on sale at various price points (depending on color) at Backcountry right now, up to 40% off. It wears like a fleece, but it’s windproof — and yet still breathable. Loads more details in this post, but the bottom line: It’s excellent and so versatile. Wearing a S, which accommodated the preggo belly but is still my preferred size today.

We made it through another week, amirite? What fun plans does everyone have for this weekend? Jon and I are taking our newly adopted dog, Gus, for his first-ever training session. He’s a wild and crazy kid with just a *few* behavioral issues that need to be addressed. He’s also the best cuddle buddy I could’ve ever asked for — we just need to make it through his teenage years without the possibility of our house being destroyed every time we leave. (That would be nice). So far we’ve tried TWO heavy-duty dog crates, both of which he’s figured his way out of mere minutes after our departure.

As for sales this week, there are a couple of GREAT ones happening, including at J.Crew, where almost everything is 40% off (plus 60% off sale items) with the code WEEKEND. And Everlane just marked down TONS of items, with many up to 60% off. Also, I’ve re-fallen in love with Revolve at the moment because it has so much good stuff on sale at the moment, like so many shamazing shackets (see what I did there?) and AGOLDE jeans, my two most-worn clothing items right now.

ONE: I love these Levi’s jeans so much that I have two pairs. One of which I patched the knee up myself so I can continue wearing them all through the winter.

TWO: My favorite-ever strapless bra, Wacoal’s Red Carpet Convertible Bra, is especially good for my larger-chested peeps. It keeps the gals up all night long.
