Happy Friday, everyone! We’re back and getting right into the swing of these end-of-summer sales. Scotti recently found a summertime version of her favorite bootcut MOTHER jeans, now on sale for 40% off at Nordstrom. Curve-friendly, with a perfected leg-lengthening silhouette and classic fit that will stand the test of time. Oh, her date-night-ready bodysuit is also on sale in select colors.
Chic Jeans, Designer Bags & Summer Sandals: Our Editors’ Top Sale Picks From Gap, Nordstrom & More
We love a Naadam sale (they seldom happen), and there’s no better time to stock up on luxe, cozy sweats and layers. Em’s scooping up this lovely boatneck sweater, and Julieta owns and loves these cashmere pants (under $100 in Merlot).
Gap is checking all the boxes right now! This tiered mini shirtdress (under $50 at checkout with code: YOURS) is the kind of closet staple that would get tons of wear with tan sandals or dressed down with sporty sneakers.
One more for the trend-chasers: Someone mentioned in our team Slack channel that “Barbie core” is trending. If that’s you, this little Clare V. bag Laura found fits the bill.

Hey-o, Friday! What I’m thankful for this week: fab friends, that first sip of coffee in the mornings, good food and the NYT Spelling Bee game. Wait, those are what I’m thankful for every week. Anyway… Gah, why is August just always such a slog. I’m trying to focus in on the good parts because there have been a lot of heavy parts this year. We have a river day coming up with friends this week as well as plans to try out a few more frozen desserts around Portland. Follow along over on my IG to see what deliciousness we find. (Did you see our boba crawl last month? So fun.) OH, and I’m seeing Courtney Barnett and Sleater Kinney this weekend!! THAT WILL HELP.
Also, anyone else’s kiddo having unexplained meltdowns lately? My 9-year-old is reverting to 4-year-old behaviors, and it dawned on me that it’s probably the impending start of school (which she is super-excited about, but it’s, yep, a transition). Those are still hard and seem to sneak up on us. Let’s get to sales for a bit o’ distraction from parental exhaustion, per usual.
My Fave rag & bone Jean Cut On Sale! I love love R&B’s slouchy Rosa fit, and they’re on sale at Saks right now in this great distressed wash (that honestly looks like my favorite MOTHER wash!) You can see them on me in a different wash here.
Hop On This Restock & The Raddest Sneaker: Sadly not on sale (it rarely ever goes on sale honestly), but my most beloved trenchcoat is restocked! Woo! It sells out every year, so definitely pop over there if you need a phenomenal trench. More deets on that and see it on me here. Best part? It actually has a hood. OK, but let me sneak in another thing that’s gonna sell out too… These freaking AH-mazing Italian high-tops that are currently at Banana Republic.
This $40 Luxe Sweater You Will See Me Living In This Fall: I’ve mentioned it a bit, but I’m in love with this super-high-quality cotton fisherman sweater from Quince. I got it in the blue color, and it makes me incredibly happy. See it in my Reel.
Good luck with the back-to-school season for everyone already starting! We start on the 30th, so we’re eeking out those last summer activities. Have a good weekend, y’all. Xoxo

I just got back from the trip of a lifetime! I was lucky enough to get to go to Turkey with Shana (my sister), Adam (my brother) and their families for a week, and it was literally life-changing. That part of the world is insanely beautiful and so rich with history — the entire trip felt like a pinch-me moment. I just got back Sunday and am still adjusting to the jet lag, but I can’t wait to go back. (I mean, hopefully one day I can go back!) I didn’t know how much I needed a break and refresher before the craziness of the school year starts! Happy weekend, everyone!!
MVP Award: If I could only take ONE thing with me on vacation, it would be this dress. I wore it often on our trip, and it worked just as well for a casual cover-up as it did for a “fancy” dinner dress. (I’m wearing it in this post.)
I Can’t Stop Smelling Myself: I picked up this perfume (apparently it’s unisex?) at a duty-free store and am obsessed with it. It also comes in a hair-and-body oil that a reviewer describes as “a come-hither-experienced-whisper, black-feline-velvety-purring-by-the-fire-after-a-roll-around, dirty, complex,” which is way better than I can do!
Sexiest Dress Ever: I never would have thought this dress would look good on my body, but after borrowing it from a friend (who has it in two colors, she loves it so much), I immediately ordered one for myself. SO good! (Sustainable too!)

Happy Friday, beautiful people! This past weekend, I got to go on my first ever brand trip in Aspen with Lavazza coffee, and let me tell you all, it was a total dream — but also kind of anxiety-inducing. I do not do well driving in the mountains, and let’s just say the drive is a tad too windy and lengthy for me. Nonetheless, I am so happy that I finally made it to Aspen and am optimistic that I will be brave enough to make the drive again in the future. Things are finally starting to cool off here in Colorado, and I’m so excited to spend more time outside in cooler temperatures!
I’m Walking On Sunshine: Well, actually more like I’m walking on clouds. These are seriously so comfortable and lightweight, and they do indeed feel like you are walking on clouds while out in the sunshine. I almost bought them when they were full price, but now that they are on sale they’ve been added to my cart!
Shine Bright Like A Diamond: I’ve been in love with Carbon38’s Takara Shine leggings for a hot minute (like, almost three years), but sadly Carbon38 still hasn’t gotten its ish together, and it doesn’t sell plus sizes. Luckily, Lululemon has a very similar pair of shine-bright-like-a-diamond leggings available in my size, and I can’t wait to give them a try!
Looking Like A Snickety Snack: I don’t think I ever would have told you all that Old Navy has become a hot spot for snickety snack outfits, but it totally has and the quality is amazing! I recently bought a ton of amazing pieces from there, and this dress is a serious snack if you’re into that kind of vibe! Oh, and you can’t beat the $16 price tag!

Hey, gang. Happy Friday! We’re wrapping up our second week of school (yes, already…I swear summer is getting shorter every year!), and I surprised the kiddo today by packing her lunch in a brand-new purple Yumbox. (If you follow me on IG, I post her lunches almost daily. Sometimes they’re more interesting than others, but I always like seeing what other parents pack for their kiddos.) We also nabbed a few of these slim ice packs, and they’ve been working like a dream to keep things like cheese and pepperoni from “sweating,” because no one likes sweaty cheese, mommmmm. Noted.
Sales this week are superb, and I’ve found that I really can’t get enough of year-round sweaters, especially in natural fibers, neutral colors and forgiving silhouettes. More of what I’m loving, below.
These Boots Were Made For Stalking. I am solidly in love with the Free People Trekker pants and romper (neither are on sale, but both have already proved to be worthy investments) — but it seems the thing that caught almost everyone’s eyes in that post was the Palladium boots. Sadly, it’s tough to find my exact style in leather, but the Palladium site has the exact style in the canvas version on sale in a few great colors, and Nordstrom has the original Baggy style (also in canvas) right now too. Some decent offerings on eBay too. Can’t say enough good things about these. I’ve had them for eight years, and they’ve taken me from the cobblestone streets of Europe through mountain trails and back again. So good, and the fit is true to size.
This Only Happens A Couple Of Times A Year. Naadam is having a mega-sale with styles up to 50% off. This is typically when I stock up on some of my favorite cashmere. Eyeing this boatneck sweater in gorgeous Chocolate Brown, this easy little cashmere hoodie and these cashmere sweatpants (under $100 each piece, but only some colors are included in the sale, so be sure to click through!). Final sale, so err on the side of sizing up.
If You Buy One Pair Of Sandals Before Summer Is Over…the Ella sandals I’m wearing in this post are on sale at Backcountry right now (lots of color options). They magically look chic with all the summer things while being both comfortable right out of the box — far more durable for walking than a plain ol’ flip-flop — and wildly flattering on the foot. True to size.
Have a great weekend! – Em

Happy weekend! We’ve been having amazing late-summer storms that keep pushing the temperatures up hotter than forecast — with the heat, humidity, afternoon thunder and sudden downpours, I feel like I’m in heaven. Sales are good this weekend, BUT before I get there: It’s necessary to note that the highly sought-after Chestnut Suede color is back in stock in my favorite cozy boots. I live in them all fall/winter, and based on how much chatter I’m seeing on social media about them, it seems they’re going to have a big moment again this year (also back in stock in this style too).
Prepping For Sweatpants Season: I purchased these last year in a pretty maroon and loved them, but I’ve wanted the black ones ever since. They are price-matched at Nordstrom, making them 41% off right now and still in great stock (run!).
Refresh Your Workout Wardrobe: A bunch of Vuori pieces hit the sale section in the dopamine-producing hue Grapefruit — even leggings in a long length!!
Fave Denim Under $100: One of my fave pairs of jeans (esp. in the under-$100 category), quite possibly in the most perfect wash. Enough said.

We’re still enjoying Colombia for a few days more. This weekend, we’re headed to Nuqui in the Colombian Pacific, called “Paradise on Earth,” and I can’t wait to tell you all about it. We’ll hopefully get some humpback whale sightings as well as enjoy hot springs, lonely beaches, and fauna and flora in the tropical forest.
Agua Bendita Did It Again. I went to the brick-and-mortar here in Colombia and came out with this stunning one-piece (size up). If you ever come, you’d go crazy. Agua Bendita is less than half the US prices here. I got more but not in the US yet.

This week was pretty rough, not gonna lie. Jon and I don’t have kids yet, but we do have a dog, Henri. He’s a 15-year-old dachshund, and like any good millennial with no kids, my dog is my life. Earlier this week, his health took a drastic turn for the worse, and the vet wasn’t sure he’d make it through the night. Turns out, he has diabetic ketoacidosis (among other things). Thankfully he’s a little fighter (and I’ve had to face my fear of needles in order to give him insulin twice a day), and he’s doing much better. I’m just grateful for the chance to spend a few more precious moments with him.
As for sales, Anthropologie is having 30% extra off of sale items, and I snagged a bunch of stuff, including the prettiest dog bed ever for over 50% off (if only it came with the pupper in the photo — my life would be complete),
The MOTHER Of All Sales: So many good MOTHER jeans on sale right now at Anthropologie and Nordstrom. So far, I’ve bought three pairs!
A Book Worth Binge-Reading: “The Island of Sea Women” by Lisa See is one of the best books I’ve read so far this year. It’s absolutely amazing, and it’s free to read with Kindle Unlimited!
My Latest Etsy Vintage Obsession: I just discovered vintage chenille bedspreads, and now I’m obsessed with all the colorful tufting and ornate patterns. My favorite Etsy store of the moment makes the coolest robes from upcycled chenille fabric, and I must have them all!
