Hey, hey, Friday! The sun’s out, and we’re heading on the train up to Seattle this weekend for a little 10-year-old-besties birthday trip. These gals (and we moms) couldn’t be more excited. We’re gonna stay downtown in a hotel with a pool (and sauna, yass… Happy Mother’s Day to US), take them to a couple of Seattle sights and eat yummy food. Oh ,and apparently there’s a trip to Claire’s planned by said 10-year-olds, haha. Obvs.

I’ve been feeling blah lately, but I’m always digging deep in my life and ancestral lines to not only understand myself more, but also to stand proud and know my worth. Some breakthroughs have come, and a lot of tears were shed. So, this weekend I’ll celebrate all the moms before me, my abuelitas and mi mami, whom I miss so much right now. Hi, hi, friends! Just got back from doing art with Lana’s class, and can we take a minute to recall that Picasso died in 1974? Am I the only one that repeatedly convinces myself he was painting hundreds of years ago? Like, he was alive during Woodstock. Not quite sure why this blows my mind.
Of note for sales this weekend, I kinda can’t believe I found an almost exact dupe for my (now sold-out) sage wide-leg pants, under $40 and lots of sizes. The new Always Pan (now oven-safe!!!) is on sale in every color; and this little bag is the perfect blend of sweet and punk rock, and I am smitten, now half-off. Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, all the people who want to become moms and have struggled to form their families in the way they had hoped for, and people who have lost a mom. I’m thinking of you if this weekend is a hard one. To celebrate the privilege of living near my mom, I’ll be hosting a small family brunch at my house this weekend. For better or worse, I don’t think I’ll be able to top last year’s gift — an Aura digital picture frame that my sister and I pre-loaded with family photos.
On the fashion front, I can’t resist the awesome Friends & Family sale running at GAP right now (most items are 40% or more off). The corset-inspired midi dress I love is on sale, and I’m probably going to pick up this lace dress for myself.

TWO: The Gap F&F sale is so, so tempting. My No. 1 pick for summer might be the High-Rise Cheeky Straight Jeans in White Destroy. I sized up one from my normal size because this isn’t a curve cut and that worked perfectly for me.
