Happy Christmas, to all who are celebrating! Cheers to spending time with loved ones, yummy drinks by the fire and enjoying the little luxuries.
Cozy Sweaters, Cute Boots & Comfy Loungewear: Editor Top Sale Picks
Speaking of little luxuries, let the end-of-year sales begin! We’re feeling all kinds of cozy this week. Nothing says “home for the holidays” quite like sporting some favorite PJs (a plaid flannel set is a seasonal must-have) and fluffy slippers.
It’s officially winter (Happy Belated Solstice)! If you’re hunting for warm layers, hint: this season is all about texture. This faux fur jacket (under $100) has a seriously cool textured stripe, and I love the playful texture of this boucle jacket from UO. For a splurge, I’m obsessed with this sporty fleece pullover (the mixed media is a cool touch of interest).
One more in the spirit of serious winter dressing (and perhaps a last-second gift to myself): we all fell in love with these boots during the NSale, and they’re back up for 60% off. Such a steal.
Wishing you all a happy and restful weekend! More top finds on sale, below…

Hey, hey! Happy weekend! I hope you all fared well this week with last-minute plans, playing Santa, shopping, cooking, baking and perhaps having to change plans. An impending snowstorm and solid week of temps below freezing has us stuck at home, so that we don’t get stuck on the Northern Washington Peninsula with my in-laws for a week. If you know, the top of Route 101 is not a place to drive in snow and ice. We prefer rain. Heh. So sad to not see family, but feeling like it’s a good plan to cozy down here at home with the pets and kiddo. We’re planning to watch Encanto again, drive around and see the neighborhood lights, bake Italian wedding cookies (my favs) and build the annual Christmas LEGO set (this year it’s this one but I wish it were this one.)
Saleswise…I’m seeing super cozy things and can’t really focus on anything else. Anthropologie has amazing pieces on major markdown (this boxy sweater is SO soft and cute on) as does J.Crew (LOTS of items we’ve featured this fall on crazy sale!) Those would be my first places to start for your chill time browsing sales. Happy, Happy Christmas to those who celebrate, Happy Belated Solstice and thank you, friends, for joining us here this year! xoxo

Christmas is a little bittersweet this year. Zack’s family is home and the little cousins are all just SO HAPPY about EVERYTHING holiday, it’s fun to watch. They’ve loved sledding and decorating cookies and even shoveling off our deck (hey, it was their idea!)—Christmas is always more fun with kids around. BUT…this is also the first year ever that I’ll be spending it away from Mom—she’s in Vermont with Shana and family. I know they’re having a great time together (omg Vermont looks GORGEOUS), but it’ll be weird without her here. I’m keeping myself busy by having the family over for Christmas Eve…I’m about to start making chili and mulled wine (I have NO idea if I’ll like it, but it will smell good!) and other little apps for us to enjoy.
You might be able to tell from my sales picks below that I’m all about COMFY and COZY right now…give me pjs and joggers and slippers and…I’ll start wearing “real clothes” in 2022. I’ve been living in these pjs at night and these base layers (top here) from Sweaty Betty during the day (it’s been COLD and these base layers are WARM)…and both are on sale right now! Perfect choices for a lazy winter break. MERRY CHRISTMAS, everyone!

Ah, winter break — it’s here and hopefully meeting all of you with a little bit of rest and an extra cup (or two) of something yummy. Santa filled my stocking with a whole bunch of these (spoiler alert, it was me, I’m Santa). I hesitated trying them for so long, but once I did I became so deeply hooked; I can’t stop eating them (the sour buddies and melons are the best IMO. Skip the gummy worms all together). The Hubs gifted me a pair of western boots I’ve been wearing with everything, and I found this pair that’s nearly identical if you want to rock them with me this season.
As for some good ol’ sales during this winter break? Sephora is offering an extra 20% off sale items with code YEARENDSALE (when signed into your account), and there are really good gift sets included, like my fave skincare brand and holy grail eyelash product. The rest of my fave sale finds are below. Cheers! Xx

It’s been a whirlwind of a week. I finally saw my beloved Lindsey Buckingham live (it was everything — outfit before and after here), celebrated my birthday on Wednesday, my brother got legally married (wore this fab velvet dress), Christmas is coming (or went depending on when you’re reading this). I love the holidays, but definitely couldn’t do this 52 weeks a year.
Side note: I’m now a magnetic eyelashes convert. I wore them to the LB concert and they are sooo much easier than glue. If I had NYE plans I’d break out these bad boys along with these new OTK boots (on sale for under $100) I just purchased.
Half-yearly sales are around the corner. I evaluated my closet and I’m really lacking in full-length, straight-leg jeans. Currently eyeing these on sale for under $60. More sales below!

Hi gang! Happy weekend! And to all the Mrs. Clauses out there who kept the wheels on this runaway holiday bus (errrr, rails on the sleigh?) –- hats off to you! I’m just shy of burned out, but fortunately, the kiddo’s enthusiasm is keeping me plugging along just barely. Ok, I may or may not have blurted out “CHRISTMAS MAGIC DOESN’T JUST HAPPEN!!” in the midst of a wrapping / baking / elfing rampage yesterday. But I swear I laced it with cheer. I also got to escape for lunch with a friend (finally wore these comfy kitten heels with jeans, so fun!) and a browsing session at T.J.Maxx yesterday, which is about as close as I get to going to church, so I can’t really complain…
Sales! Abercrombie has loads on sale for up to 40% off (I haven’t even gotten to browse all the options yet), but if you only hit up one sale this weekend, make it Anthro. There’s an additional 40% off everything (which we all know isn’t the best – sometimes they kick it up to 50% off) – BUT they’ve freshly stocked the sale section and there are loads of finds that weren’t there during all the Black Friday sales. I saw this dress in-store and it’s freaking beautiful, and I’m very tempted to make this sweater my ski lodge uniform for the next couple of months. (Here’s hoping it can squeak over the belly.) I think I’ve only made it as far as page 13 of the 26 pages of sales finds, and there are already…nine items in my cart? (Stocking up on these gorgeous reed diffusers for gifts throughout the year, too – the design is so pretty and unique.) Cheers to a happy, healthy and restful weekend, friends. – Em

This holiday season has felt different. I started a decolonizing journey this year and have been doing a lot of unlearning and learning. I don’t have the answers, but for now I’ll do two things I love, be with my family and give.
Yesterday we went to an unprotected part of Bogotá to give gifts to the children. A friend is involved with the community and needed donors, so we went. It was beautiful to see how even when the government wants to kick them out of their territory, they’ve created a community focusing on becoming an eco-friendly neighborhood. They asked us to come back and we will. I’ve learned that going once and disappearing is more hurtful than never helping in the first place.
Now sales!!! These boots are seriously amazing—waterproof, great color (I got the wine), comfortable and versatile. I got them for my stylish mother-in-law, now I want them for me.

After two long days of driving I finally made it back to Wisconsin! I am so excited to be home with family and friends, but this year certainly feels different. My parents are getting ready to move to Nashville, and my highly cautious mom decided to go to her company’s annual Christmas party and unfortunately there was a coronarvirus outbreak and she has been quarantined for the past two weeks. She did get sick with COVID and lost her taste, sense of smell and was quite sick for the first few days. But thankfully my immune-compromised dad is still well, and she will be in the clear on Christmas day! I am so incredibly thankful that she is on the up and up, and that I am able to be here for our last Christmas in Wisconsin.
Now that I am back in the tundra, I’ve got winter boots on my mind and these Prada dupes are so good. Oh, and these cutie UGG boots are totally my vibe. Oh, and ps. I am still on the hunt for the perfect NYE dress for Miami, and want your thoughts on this. Sending you all holiday cheers, laughter and above all health for the holiday season. XX – Kat
