Happy Friday, and cheers to the official start of fall! It was actually chilly here in Philly this morning, the perfect start to #SweaterWeather. If you like timeless sweaters, Kat’s Free People tunic sweater is included in Social Threads’ sale event (20% off orders $200 or more, ends 9 p.m. EST tonight)! It’s slightly oversized, easy to layer, and a breeze to style over a dress or with jeans.

Fall Jackets, Comfy Athleisure, Designer Bags & More Top Editor Sale Picks

Autumn might have arrived, but don’t pack up the midi dresses yet — Anne’s Vince dress is marked down under $100, and Em’s eyeing up this super-similar rib-knit dress by Good American. Just add a layer (Linzi’s J.Crew sweater-cardigan just went on deeper sale), and swap out sandals for a fall shoe — Laura’s fave chunky loafers are right on trend this season.

Falling for the color red, lately? Us too — Scotti’s Cinq à Sept blazer in Chili Pepper paired with these Loeffler Randall heels in the same color is giving me a pre-Holiday kick. And how adorable is this little party bag, especially for just $50!

One more for those of us (raises hand) not quite ready to say goodbye to summer: Linzi’s been watching her floral rag & bone tee like a hawk, and it’s finally on sale at Saks.

More editor picks on sale, below. Happy shopping!

Laura’s Sale Picks

Hey, hey, Friday. Welp. This has been a week of rest for your pal Laura here. Finally got knocked off my feet by COVID last weekend and oof… This gal doesn’t like to take a week off, let’s just say. I guess life makes us occasionally, though, and I did get to focus on healing. The fatigue is real, my friends, but I’m excited to ease back into real life in the coming days. Fall is my fave, so onward and upward! There are some fab finds out there this weekend. Let’s get into it.

Fave Transitional Shoes: I’m still loving lug-sole loafers, and this great Franco Sarto pair I have (my fave after a whole try-on sesh, btw!) are on sale right now for under $60. They’re super-comfy and come in both black and white. I love the bit of height they give, and they look so good with a blazer!

The Softest, Most Gorgeous Statement Topper: This Free People jacket I got from Social Threads is so incredible AND 20% off right now with code STLOVESFP. You can see it on me styled up here (along with the rest of the team’s FP faves!)

Don’t Miss Out on These Beauties: I always get asked about an older pair of Boden heels when I pair them with my outfits, and these J.Crew slingbacks have a super-similar vibe and shoe shape (i.e., feminine and flattering) on the foot. They’re 33% off right now too! I adore J.Crew shoes, and these have a nice, walkable, low kitten heel but don’t skimp on the subtle sexiness.

Hello, friends! I’m geeking out a little bit right now — I’m in Chicago this weekend for a Deadmau5 concert, and I am SO excited. It’s been a MINUTE since I’ve been to a concert, and EDM has been my favorite for years now. Of course, a bonus to these little trips is that I get to shop and try on clothes in person. Here are a couple of pieces that caught my eye.

Comfy Sweatshirt Jacket: I’ve been eyeing up this Free People jacket for a while, now. It’s deliciously oversized (I tried both the XS and S, and they both worked — small is just more oversized) and feels more like a heavy shirt/sweatshirt than a jacket. It’s a perfect layering piece for fall. (There are more colors directly through Free People if you’re into that gorgeous green color!)

Cropped Blazer for the Win: Cropped blazers are everywhere right now, but I find it difficult to find one that looks good on. This one is perfect and under $70! (I got the XS because it’s a tad oversized.)

“Perfect” Cord Flares? Um, yes, they are. And they’re 30% off for Madewell Insiders (free to sign up). I love the color (richer in person that in the pics online), and they come in tall, petite and standard sizes. They do run just a bit big — I’m usually a 6/28, and those were just a tad too large for me. (And there’s stretch to the fabric, which makes them really comfy!)

Well, yesterday was officially the first day of autumn, and I had to turn the heat on last night! The temperature has been steadily dropping here in Colorado, and last night, it dropped down to 42 degrees. I admittedly have to say I’m so excited for fall and cold weather, which is not typical for me because I’m usually a summer kind of gal. I can’t wait for the leaves to start changing and to take a trip up into the mountains to see the gorgeous Aspen trees change colors. If you are ever in CO in the fall, it truly is a magical experience. Cheers to the weekend, y’all!

Sweater SZN: My all-time favorite sweater from Free People is finally back again! FP took a mini hiatus on this sweater last year, but they are back in action and have it stocked in my favorite colors: white and this gorgeous green that I have already added to my cart!

Designer Bag Drop: I am crushing hard on this new Mansur Gavriel M Frame collection and am trying to decide if I should purchase the M Frame mini bag or the M Frame shoulder bag.

A New(ish) Trend to Try: Flared leggings are seriously having their moment right now, and it’s making me so nostalgic for my middle- and high-school years when this style was all I ever wore. Most pairs of flared leggings are around $120, but this pair from Zella is under $30!

Hi, friends — happy weekend! Fall is in full swing here in Half Moon Bay. The pumpkin patches lining the highway are already brimming with folks, but if you’re local to the Bay Area, I’d recommend skipping those crowds and attempting to take your first meeting of the day on the road so you can enjoy a walk on our coast trails midmorning on a weekday. I wrote a little more about it here, but it’s easily one of my favorite ways to enjoy the area, distraction-free.

This weekend, we have Lana’s bridging ceremony to Brownies (she’s what I would call a social Scout — definitely more in it for the hang time with friends than the badges, haha), and I’m contemplating taking her out to a special one-on-one dinner afterward. Been a while since we’ve gotten to do something just the two of us, and she’s pretty freaking hilarious these days. Isn’t it fun when you start to genuinely enjoy your kids in a new way? It’s a total trip.

Helluva Lot More Flattering than Expected: I’m most definitely not a light-colored-leggings person, but these track-striped baby-blue leggings are easily one of the most flattering things I’ve worn ever. Not on sale, but I have a feeling they’ll go quickly (and I can 100% verify that they’re worth the full price. That’s a pretty big statement coming from budget-minded me). More on them in this post.

The Best Kids Socks, Period: Lana is ultra-picky about socks (she’s super-sensitive to bunching, slipping and scratchy stitching), and these have proved to be the hands-down winner. I love the classic styling (available in tons of colors), and she loves that they stay put. They’re just cushioned enough too, and we’ve yet to wear holes in them. Currently 40% off plus 10% off with codes GAPVIP and PERK. I just bought 12 pairs in her next size — they’re that good.

Biossance’s Fall Haul Is On! Biossance is offering $20 off $50-plus purchases with code STOCKUP, and I imagine you could use it for a couple of consecutive orders. I just re-upped my supply of what I consider to be the Holy Trinity for flawless, glowing skin: the Squalane + Animo Aloe Gentle Cleanser, the Squalane + Omega Repair Cream, and the Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil.

HAPPY AUTUMN! I adore this time of year and am thankful I still have another week in Michigan to soak up (now, finally) cooler temps. The midwest was pretending to be a tropical climate for a moment, but fall weather showed up just in time for the equinox. Time to drink my weight in homemade cider!

I think I found the perfect outfit-maker for this new season. It’s textured and a rich tone, yet it’s incredibly soft and light, which makes it ideal for layering. You can scoop it up in the FP x ST sale (through 9 p.m. 9/23) BUT it’s worth every penny full price.

Don’t Miss This: Some of the best MOTHER denim scores are directly on its own website (and the stock is great). I’m swooning over the detailing on this pair, and this one is fantastic for my fellow tall ladies!

I Can’t Believe These Aren’t Sold Out: I scooped up these shoes awhile back because they look almost identical to a cozy Jenni Kayne sandal, and now they’re on sale for under $40. The PERFECT winter house shoe (or even outdoors if you’re in a mild climate).

Current Obsession: I adore these barrel jeans, and now I want to add this black wash to my wardrobe (use codes under price for discount).

Bestseller: Because we all deserve comfort.

Linzi’s Sale Picks

First actually cool morning in Philly, so my mind is definitely working out what my new fall “put on without thinking” uniform is going to be. I know there are questions about the “lined-sandal thing” for fall, so I have to share… This morning I wanted to slide my feet into something cozy, so I wore my lined mules (which I adore), but my feet got overheated, and I was a sweaty mess!

My picky feet are not quite ready for the mules but still want slip-on coziness. I wish I had worn my Birk lined sandals (equally as cozy but with more breathing room) that I reviewed in this post. Gotta keep those feet happy! Will let you guys know if I see either on sale, but I waited and waited last year and no luck with the colorways I liked being discounted.

Most Popular This Week: Besides this sweater-cardigan (discounted even FURTHER this week), this soft corduroy jacket (which is still 40% off…yay!) was hugely popular. Size down.

Fancy T-Shirt Fans: My rag & bone tee (perfect for fall under cardis) is on sale!

Budget vs. Luxe Find: This jacket under $100 (red-yellow-blue colorway) versus my MOTHER jacket I wore in this post. Neither on sale, but it’s fun searching for alternatives to some of my $$$ designer picks that have a similar vibe. I have a feeling the budget-friendlier one is even cuter in person (like I found with my MOTHER one).

My New Favorite Black Comfy Pants: included in Athleta’s 15-25% off sale with code MEMBERS. Easy to sign up for “membership.” I’m ordering this zip top and this sweatshirt tank to match my pants, and I’m hoping it might be a new go-to travel outfit. SOOOOOO soft.

25% off My Favorite Jewelry Brand: Use code SOKOFAM25. The bow earrings are my most-worn jewelry, but I’m eyeing these as well. You can read more about its story here.

Summer or fall cleaning? I don’t know, but I’ve been spending a LOT of time purging, organizing, and checking off things I’d wanted to do around the house for months — maybe years? Yeah, that.

Like Finding a System for Lego: After many bins, color-coding and more, I went for the simplest solution: This little thing has rocked my world, and I could not be more thankful. We have these functional drawers for special pieces that my 8-year-old happily sorted, but the rest now has the perfect place.

Finally Pulled the Plug: I had these palazzo jeans in my cart since last week, but now they’re on their way to me. I’ve been comfortably rocking wide-leg jeans all season and don’t plan to stop for a while.

Who’s Ready for Sweaters?: This slouchy sweater comes in the most beautiful colors and, according to the reviews, is super-comfortable and flattering. I’m obsessed with the Wildflower color, but of course I’m going for that gorgeous chocolate brown.
