Hey, hey, Friday! Me over here, willing this amazing September weather we’ve had never to end…but alas the rain looms ahead… It starts Sunday. I’m soaking up every last minute of sun this weekend! Eeeek, and for fellow Buffy fans, I’m re-watching the show right now and just watched the episode “Hush” last night again… I’m not a horror fan besides this show, but gahhh, if you wanna be totally creeped out for spooky season, watch that episode. Sheesh. Terrifying. Just as spooky, if not more so, as the weeping angels episode of “Dr. Who.” IYKYK. Sweet dreams! Haha.
Speaking of spooky season, this shirt is hilarious, on sale, and yes, I just ordered it. I’m also highly considering these in chocolate brown (I tried the other color, and they’re SO good and 50% off), and gahh, why do I love these in pink? The classic green is fab too.

The kids and I put up the Halloween decorations this week! I always envision a completely different version of decorating together than what actually happens. They always start arguing about the most ridiculous things (like which skull to put on which step), and it devolves from there. But…they’re up. My favorites are the neon signs from Target…they’re super-easy (plug in and turn on), and I love the lights at night. They’re like the Halloween version of Christmas lights. (You can actually see one in the pic below!) This weekend I’m taking the kids trick-or-treating at a local harvest festival, and they’re excited to dress up and eat treats.
I have to shout out Nordstrom’s beauty sale…my favorite/easiest/quickest way to do my eyes is to use Laura Mercier’s shadow sticks, and they’re part of it — as is one of the best foundations of all time. Yay!

I’m feeling ALL the fall vibes this week. Back-to-school nights, the switch from iced to hot coffee, and the true sign of fall…I got to wear a coatigan this morning. Bonus: I slipped on my fave shearling-lined Birks earlier this week too. So, yes…fall is HERE!
The really good fall sales have started! The big one? 25% off all MOTHER denim. My second pick: Madewell’s 25% off Insider sale. I just ordered these pants everyone has been RAVING about — I have to see if they’e as good as everyone says (hoping they might break up my jeans-every-day routine.) And finally, Nordstrom has a ton of Vince on sale..great closet staples like this sweater (now under $100).

It’sssss GAPCASH TIME!!! Imagine me saying that like an old-school game-show host. Truth be told, I never use mine and often forget about it all together. But seeing as how Gap’s new fall releases are literally making me jump closer to my screen and squeal in all sorts of octaves, I think I’m going to be getting some serious usage out of those reward dollars this weekend. My cart is full, but if I were to recommend one thing, it would be these sweatpants S and I both love.
Speaking of this weekend — it’s OFFICIALLY FALL (on Saturday). It took me a second to embrace the transition, but I recently went all in with excitement. And since San Diego’s weather decided to match the fall mood, I’m gonna whip out this spooky-season crewneck I’ve been dying to wear (there are a few prints, but I love this one because it makes me think of Joey from “Friends”). Now excuse me while I go make a Fall Bucket List (first up: make a trip to pick apples). Xx

ONE: The Saks sale is a gold mine. It has all my favorite denim styles for fall, including my favorite cargo jeans. These are easier to wear than most other cargos because of the streamlined pocket style — so you still get the cargo effect with a less bulky appearance (also on sale in black). But WAIT for it — because Nordstrom price-matched them, so you have your pick of retailers. I wear my true size in these! Saks also has my favorite jeans for looooong legs, along with my all-around-fave style I currently can’t stop wearing, included in the sale!
TWO: I recently pulled out the slim-leg cords that I’ve worn nonstop for the past few winters/holidays and was a little bummed, realizing I don’t wear that tight of style anymore. AND THEN, I found out Gap released them in a mid-rise loose this season (AND a high-rise stride!). You can grab all versions this year, and they’re all on sale this weekend! For sizing, I think I could have sized down to a 6, but I’d rather have them looser than tight. P.S. I found the mid-rise to actually sit like a high rise.

Hola from Cartagena!! Remember my husband turned 40 a couple of weeks ago? The last part of his celebration is a trip to Cartagena with friends (no kids). It’ll be a fun weekend, but I’m already tired because these other eight couples don’t stop partying. And they all have more kids than us. Can I party one day and relax the rest? Soñar no cuesta nada.
One of the items on sale I’m definitely buying is my Dior foundation. I wear the glow finish during the winter months and the matte for the rest of the year.

Hey, hey from smoky Northern California. It seems fire season is upon us, so despite the brilliant freaking sunshine we’ve had this week, we’ve spent most of our time inside. << insert wompiest of womps >> On the upside, Lana is having a friend sleep over tonight for the first time, and she’s positively GIDDY. Keeping it easy with pizza, a movie and a few junky snacks we usually reserve for once-in-a-while occasions. *cough*Doritos*cough* Such a sweet milestone.
Top sales picks this week: this sweater (it’s perfection in the brown) if you have GapCash, this one (100% cotton, yesss) if you don’t. And this statement tee, which I’m tempted to build a full casual fall wardrobe around.
ONE: Run, don’t walk. My FRAME tee rarely goes on sale, and yet it is — with a few sizes left. And there’s still good news if your size isn’t available: It’s far better stocked in the “Le Mid Rise” version, which has all the exact same elevated details with a slightly longer length. Lotsa colors too. Wearing a small. (also wearing: these jeans, TTS)
TWO: I have these Low-Rise Stride jeans in a couple of washes, and they’re perfection (wearing my true size). So, now I’m contemplating them in the black — and hoping they’re just as great, despite the 1% elastane. I’ve yet to find “cooler” jeans for the moment at a better price (or quality). Happy weekend, everyone! Started the week in the Smoky Mountains and am ending the week on the beach. So, I can’t really complain — no matter how much I usually like to. I’m heading to the pool after this with my copy of “Nothing to See Here” by Kevin Wilson. It’s one of the best books I’ve read so far this year! And the Audible audiobook version just so happens to be free right now on Amazon.
As for sales, as you can tell below, my mind is obviously on jeans, jeans, jeans. And Neiman Marcus just so happens to have a TON of amazing MOTHER jeans and more on sale at the moment. Definitely check out the denim sale selection — it’s ridiculously good right now! Also, Anthropologie’s sale section has refreshed recently with lots of swoon-worthy fall staples.
ONE: MOTHER Maven Heel Wide-Leg Jeans – I’m not exaggerating when I say these jeans are my most-worn wide-leg jeans ever. They are so comfortable, flattering, and easily one of the best purchases I’ve made. On sale at Neiman Marcus are the ripped-knee version in a lighter wash that I bought instantly. In other good news, the gray wash I’m wearing was just restocked at Anthro for the first time since March.
TWO: MOTHER The Roller Wide-Leg Jeans – I had to order these immediately once I saw they were on sale. This medium-blue faded wash is pretty much my ideal denim color, especially for fall.
