Happy Friday! Is there a better way to wrap up April than a surprise 25%-off sale from Good American? Shana dubbed these cutoffs the holy grail of denim shorts: They have a fresh, modern high rise but in a comfortable stretch denim… Best part, they are cut longer in the back making them a really wearable pair of shorty-shorts. Use code FLASH25 at checkout.
Also on sale at GA? This killer denim jumpsuit that both Laura & Jess wear constantly. (And we’re willing to bet Nordstrom will price-match it.)

Hey, hey, Friday! Whew, cue the coffee. One of those mornings where some noise woke me up at 2:30 a.m., and I couldn’t get back to sleep…now I’m a zombie. BUT, BUT…the sun is finally here! All your Portlander friends are rejoicing this week and are probably a bit nicer too. LOL. It was getting rough. The flowers here — especially the apple blossoms right now — are incredible and for tonight? Cue a picnic in the park with mom friends while the kids run their faces off. I love this time of year when all this comes together. Mostly I love the giant shot of vitamin D, I think.
Friends. Grab up some rad, gorgeously designed Earth month goods while they last from my brother’s lovely company, Natural Threads. He has excellent taste (his background is also in graphic design) and made some great, high-quality threads to celebrate this month. He also offers super-cool custom tees and merch if you need that for your event or company! Shameless plug for my brother, who’s one of my besties. Love you, Jon!
OK, now for sales. I create a little wish list each season, and currently on it are these sandals | this striped tee | gahh, this lovely cardi from one of my favorite brands | this light jacket at Nordstrom.

ONE: This great Rebecca Minkoff Julian bag — one of our longtime team favorite styles! — with the chain straps is on sale at Saks! (Saks has a TON of great stuff in its Spring Sale, btw.) Love this bag that holds just the right amount, leaves your hands free, and kinda wears like jewelry with the fun straps.
TWO: Some of my most-worn pants ever, the Paige Mayslie joggers, are on sale in a gorgeous ivory color that I definitely want for spring and summer. These pants are SO incredibly comfy and look really cute with everything. I travel with mine all the time. Don’t size up if between sizes, but perhaps size down if you’re slim through the booty and thighs. LOVE these!

Hello from North Carolina! After a weekend stop in Chicago (where I took full advantage of the Nordstrom nearby — this jacket is amazing, and I never would’ve bought it from online pics), the kids and I made it to Carolina Beach. We’re enjoying the sun — er, I’m enjoying the sun, and they’re enjoying the sand and ocean. Mom joined us laaaaate last night (every single one of her three flights were delayed), and I’m looking forward to a weekend of sharing one of my favorite places with her. Britts Donuts, here we come. 🍩
If you missed Sephora’s big sale event, Nordstrom has a ton of beauty favorites on sale right now. From my mom’s favorite Tom Ford perfume (she refuses to call it by name), to the cult-favorite NARS blush, to the Dior lip oil that went crazy on TikTok and the anti-aging serum with the ridiculously amazing reviews (I’ve tried it and totally agree), there are a bunch of amazing beauty deals out there.

ONE: I knew I’d love the platform version of these Dolce Vita sandals I have and love so much (both pairs are on sale) that I bought them in two colors. They’re comfortable and go with everything! jacket | jeans | bag
TWO: The Cinq à Sept blazer I LOVE is 25% off in both black and white at Nordstrom! This one fits SO well — love the shoulders!

Oh, boy. Gang, this weekends’ sales are having me leaving multiple tabs open on my browser so I can “come back later and shop.” They’re good, like, incredibly tempting good.
I think my favorite sale section of the weekend (although I can’t not mention H&M’s buy-more-save-more event, the very exciting and very summer-filled aerie sale including 30% off all swim, and Gap’s ridiculously dangerous amazing discount codes) has to be Anthro’s Mother’s Day sale. The entire sale is good, but the clothing section?! It’s AMAZING.
As for a few small non-sale items I must shout out: My hubs and I have both begun sleeping with this eye mask. He got one first and was so (hysterically) obsessed that he ordered me one, and now we both sleep better. And this for easy, fluffy brow shaping.

ONE: I’ve been actively pretending all week to not know that Gap’s current codes score you a 40% + 20% OFF your purchase. That type of discount not only makes me want to buy the entire store, but brings my fave bathing suit under $35, my new summer denim obsession under $40, and my latest lightweight pants score (plus the matching tunic top that makes for the perfect swim cover-up or vacation/travel outfit) under $30. The deals are jaw-dropping.
TWO: A SPRING SALE is going on at Our Place! Even if you’re not interested in the brand-new, upgraded Always Pan 2.0 (longer lasting, nonstick, made without PTFEs, PFOAs or other PFAS, and made from 100% post-consumer recycled aluminum + without potentially harmful toxins), Our Place has some of my very favorite kitchen gear: the world’s best cutting board (I’m serious), the only knife I use in the kitchen, and space-saving/stacking storage containers that all use the same lid size (so you never have to rummage around for the right lid again)!!! Also, our favorite bowl/plate combo. I mean, it’s all BRILLIANT.

It’s my moon cycle week (menstrual period), so I’m in my favorite loungewear working from bed. I have my predicted cycle dates added to my calendar to plan around it. I love the difference it makes being connected with my body and knowing when my energy will be high, so I can take on demanding things, but also when it will be low so I can say no easily, to say yes to my rest and recharge. Do you do this?
Currently obsessed:
- Need these sandals in RED (not on sale but under $70).
- I also just got these in the mail and wore them right away.
- If you haven’t yet, my latest article on cropped jackets (the jackets of this spring and beyond) is full of gorgeous, stylish and practical jackets.

ONE: L*Space Mini Dress – Limited sizing, but I’m so happy to see this dress on sale. The skirt is my favorite part, and I love wearing it with sneakers. Also in black.
TWO: Mille Sophia Button-Up – My love for printed button-up shirts is big. While I prefer more colorful prints, I love this subtle and feminine style. Perfect to dress down with jeans, but also perfect with a pair of trousers for the office.

Happy Friday, gang. Lana’s birthday last weekend was a smashing success (if I do say so myself), and it was so much fun getting to see her celebrate with 16 little gal pals on a sun-drenched afternoon. We made what’s becoming my go-to cake for all occasions — this vanilla cake with this unique frosting, both of which receive wild praise every time we make them — and then stretched the celebration into a second night with a family dinner out. Elle’s at this fun age where she’s easily entertained in a restaurant and reveling in trying all the new foods, and I just want to bottle up her optimism and cheerful curiosity and use it like smelling salts on my own cranky days. If only.
On my mind this week: This gorgeous, upscale-looking set (not on sale but extremely well-priced) looks almost too good to be true. Worth an investigation, I’m thinking. Available in 17 colors! | More easy, elevated outfit inspo from Abercrombie | Laura Slacked me this week to say Everlane’s current dress selection has my name all over it, and she’s not wrong; this apron dress is a standout.

ONE: Gap’s VIP event is on, which means everything in this outfit is on sale. These jeans are the Low-Rise Stride Jeans that I’ve been loving for months — I just picked them up in a new wash (the released hem is so summery and perfect for flat sandals or flip-flops). With codes GAPVIP and PERK, they’re just $38. And the ribbed tank is just $11 with the same codes. Don’t snooze on the sandals, either. They have the look of fisherman sandals but in a flat slide that’s too easy to wear (and they don’t click-clack or tire out your feet).
TWO: This is the kind of dress I would wear the hell out of for, ohhh, the rest of my life. Timelessly beautiful and just freaking fun. We’re headed to wine country in June (yes, again) for my birthday, and it’s exactly what I’d pack for strolling vineyards (just add Western boots) or a flirty date night.

This weekend, catch me outside, how ‘bout that? No, but seriously, I’ll be outdoors as much as possible. I’m heading to Vintage in the Zoo’s Vintage and Handmade Marketplace in Kalamazoo, and also to the dog park on Lake Michigan, and I absolutely CANNOT wait. One thing I love about West Michigan is that as soon as the weather turns warmer, we have some amazing outdoor markets, concerts and other events that continue till the end of fall. Market season is upon us!
As for sales, I just bought a ton of stuff at Mango’s 30%-off event, where everything is on sale with the code EXTRA30, as long as you spend $220 or more (which is really not hard to do). I’m also loving the sale section at Banana Republic (and generally everything at BR) right now. Plus, two of my favorite Farm Rio dresses are currently on sale at Nordstrom and still well stocked in sizes. Keep scrolling to see more of my favorite sale picks this week.

ONE: Everlane Fatigue Barrel-Leg Pants – You may remember these pants from last week’s sale post. Well, they arrived, and they’re just as good as I hoped they would be (true to size). I’ll be wearing them on repeat from here on out. Also, they are 30% off and really well stocked! similar denim shirt | adidas Sambas | Zac Posen Belay Bag (in black and white)
TWO: The Cambridge Satchel Co. The Saddle Bag – The Cambridge Satchel Co. is one of my favorite leather-handbag companies ever. I just bought the backpack satchel in Oxblood and am SO in love. Since my Zac Posen Belay bag is sadly no longer available, I’m loving this saddle bag that is currently 30% off and comes in five colors!

It’s my 41st birthday this weekend (!!!), and I’m feeling so grateful for all of the people in my life and the creative projects I’ve been able to develop this year. A special thank-you to all of you readers who have welcomed me as a contributor this year on TME. I love sharing my finds with you!
Lo and behold, Nordstrom has gifted me a perfect birthday present — a sale on Alexis Bittar’s jewelry line. I love her line, and select items are 25% off this weekend. I’m going to gift myself these super-cool neon hoop earrings, and it may be hard to resist this gold-and-lucite bracelet or this stunning necklace as well.

ONE: My birthday outfit is this dress currently on sale at Gap in my very favorite color of all time. These chunky-funky fisherman sandals by Melissa help lengthen my silhouette and are actually super-comfortable. I also picked up this linen corset dress from GAP that I love and have a few more finds from the sale below.
TWO: Good American sells my favorite jeans, and it’s also having a flash sale of 25% off. I recently picked up these white bootcut jeans, and I absolutely love them. I’m wearing a size 15. Other items on sale at Good American that I can’t get enough of are the Fit for Success Jumpsuit, the swimwear, and these light-wash, cropped mini-bootcut jeans, which are perfect for summer.
For the easiest, breeziest summer look ever, I’m pairing my white denim with my Kule T-shirt and Sorel sandals. The T-shirt is also on sale (20% off when you buy two or more), and I have to say that I think I’ve found my perfect striped tee. This one is so soft and hangs just right.
