Hey, hey, Friday! Whew, what a whirlwind week after getting back from our California vacay. It’s SUPER foggy here in Portland this morning as I write this while sipping my beloved first cup of coffee. I’m a lucky duck here with a friend who has a house on the Oregon Coast and is taking some girlfriends there this weekend for a quick jaunt. (I know. I don’t sit still for long.) You know those friends that you’re guaranteed a belly laugh with, though? Yep, those are the friends.
I cherish the few weekends we’ve had together out there. They are so renewing. I sleep so well knowing I don’t have to be mom for a bit. I know you know this feeling. I’m ready! Well, not packed one bit or anything, and I gotta finish finding some amazing sales for y’all first, but otherwise, TOTES READY, haha.
THE Softest Quilted Jacket, On Sale! I got this BlankNYC jacket at a local boutique here earlier this year, and dude…it’s become my emotional-support jacket, I swear. It’s SO freaking soft. It’s on sale right now and somehow still stocked. TTS for a boxy, cozy fit. I wear a S. (See it on here.)
2 Pairs of Last Year’s Faves, Restocked! This pair of Sorels and this pair of Free People’s cozy mules are both restocked! They’ve both sold out quickly over the past two years, so I’m very glad to see them back! You can see the FP mules on here (go to number four). They are so cozy but somehow just make outfits cuter too. TTS on those, and size up half a size on the Sorels (which also come in this updated version…do we like though?).
Yep, A Stocking Stuffer For The Kiddo Already: I mean, how adorable and genius are these? They come in a few different designs and are perfect for chilly bike or scooter rides!
The Rack Is Ready… Yep, Nordstrom Rack already has its gift-guide pages up! I’m perusing the top 100 gifts, and dude….some amazing finds. These UGG slippers will go fast I’m sure. And probably these Barefoot Dreams blankets (I still don’t know if I like them or not, but they ARE so soft!). I’m trying to spread out the gift shopping a bit more this year, so now’s the time to start, I guess! I’m usually a solid late-November, early December gift buyer, so I need to somehow switch gears!

You guys, it’s been a week. I’m exhausted. I just ordered matching PJs with the kids (learned my lesson last year when the ones I wanted sold out early) and plan on wearing them the entire weekend. I’m looking forward to wearing all the sequins and fun stuff over the holidays, but for now — pjs.

Last night, I watched the new “Hocus Pocus 2” on Disney Plus and have to say I loved it! Watching the sequel to one of my absolute favorite Halloween movies has me excited for all things spooky. This weekend, I’m headed to the mountains and hoping to see some gorgeous, golden Aspen leaves. I’m packing my new sweater from Jenni Kayne that is the most stunning ink-blue color and is the exact kind of sweater that I love: ultra lightweight and slightly cropped. Happy weekend to you all! The hubs and I are going on a little getaway tomorrow morning, and I’m actually giddy right now…like “giggling as I write this from a coffee shop” giddy. I’ll feel less giddy when I return home tonight and realize I still haven’t packed yet… But I’m going to keep it simple: dresses and bikinis. Done.
I’m also feeling close to giddy about all the boots and cardigans going WILD in the sales right now. Three of my top picks from my huge J.Crew cardigan-jacket try-on (post coming soon) have been discounted EVEN further! Hello from San Diego! If you follow along on the gram, you may have watched my little family (two cats included) crawl across the US this past week as we moved to California. We landed yesterday and are SO HAPPY to be out of the car. Also very excited to be receiving all of our belongings from U-Haul today — we’ve been living out of small suitcases for exactly four weeks now, and I’m ready for a change of wardrobe.
With That Said: In those four weeks, I wore these jeans literally almost everyday. I DID wear them everyday in the car during our cross-country trek…and I never knew a pair of denim could be so incredibly comfortable and easy, while still being interesting. Not on sale, but I HAD to mention them. Five freaking stars (plus more sizes here).
Our Fave, In Wool: Just realized the Birks I’ve been eyeing up for the past few weeks are actually made from wool, and I think that’s why I’m so drawn to them. Perfect for warmer climates when you still want a cold-weather cozy vibe.
Bestseller: Gap is running some pretty massive deals, including my fave cords that are perfect for every holiday event AND all winter long.

Happy Friday, gang! Despite the fact that I don’t love the pinkwashing that is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I try to take time each October to share a piece of my own story in case it happens to resonate with someone going through the same thing. (October also happens to be the month I received my diagnosis — how fitting.) I shared one of the unexpectedly beautiful outcomes of my experience on Instagram last night, and the comments and DMs that I received have had me welling up all morning. Sometimes social media can be so dark and cynical (hi, Kettle, it’s me, Pot), but today I’m appreciating that it can also bring out some warm, cozy feels too.
Restocked! A Levi’s Wash To Get Excited About. Thanks to S for making me realize that Nordstrom restocked the exact wash in the Levi’s 501s I’ve been wearing for the past couple of years. Not on sale but under $100. I shared a couple of ways I’ve been wearing them here. I bought my true size, did Julieta’s spray-bottle break-in hack, and they’ve been like butter ever since.
The Best Timeless Coats For The Price Point. Abercrombie’s coat game is, once again, super-strong this season. This wool-blend trench coat is probably my fave of the bunch (currently 15% off, and yes, you could probably get a deeper discount later in the season, but sometimes I actually want to wear the item now). But since it’s super-similar to the slouchy Dad Coat I picked up last year (I think they’re calling it a blanket coat this year?), I’d be most likely to actually pull the trigger on this textured Dad Coat in black. Ugh, realizing these all sound nearly identical, but the important part is: The timeless style of these coats can’t be beat for the price.
Anthro Restocked Their Sale Section, And It’s Goooood. Anthro’s got additional 30% off sale this weekend, and they added loads of new finds. Lotsa great dresses and sets if you’ve got late-season weddings on the books, or if you’re shopping early for not-too-over-the-top holiday dresses (totally my speed). Like, someone invite me somewhere so I can wear this effortlessly elegant gown, STAT. I also have this pretty, easy sleep dress in my cart as a little gift to myself for when Elle goes back to sleeping through the night. Any night now, my dear…

My Most-Worn Winter Jacket Is On Sale: I wore this puffer jacket almost everyday earlier this year. With sweatpants and jeans, and it always made me feel like a million bucks.
Free People Favorites: The Free People sale has me clicking “add to cart” every minute. I got this sweater in the mail yesterday, and I’m already wearing it. Fun, warm and great color options. And….what do we say about this jumpsuit? Hmm, not sure I could pull it off, but damm, it looks good.
Coziest Sneakers: I first saw the stunning color combo, but after seeing the inside, I can’t get these sneakers out of my mind.

We’ve been keeping ourselves busy this week over here in west Michigan. Everyone is scrambling to make the most of this perfect fall weather before winter hits. Last weekend, I went to a corn maze with Jon and his family. It was my first time ever going, and let’s just say, I was not prepared. It took over TWO HOURS, ya’ll. TWO. HOURS. We were in the maze for one hour and 50 mins longer than I thought we would be. It was actually a lot of fun. My only regret was wearing my new white Chuck Taylor high-tops — they were absolutely ruined by the end of the day. As we start gearing up for the holiday season, the sales are starting to get goooood. Here’s my favorite of what’s out this week:
Livin’ The UGG Life: Big news. I bought a pair of UGGs for the first time ever in my LIFE this week. As soon as I saw these suede platform, zipper-front UGGs at Saks I knew I wouldn’t be able to resist, and I snapped them up so fast.
The Air Fryer That Changed My Life (In The Kitchen, At least): The Ninja Air Fryer is 35% off at Bloomingdales right during the Friends and Family Event. I was late to the air-fryer game, but I am NEVER looking back. If you don’t have one yet, they really do make life so much easier with quick, simple meals — which is perfect if you plan on entertaining family and friends over the holidays.
