Weekly Sales Report 12.30

Happy Friday! I can’t believe it’s the last one of 2022 until we welcome the new year… Cheers to making it through 2022 and looking forward to a fresh start in 2023.

Now…let’s ring in the new year with some favorites on sale! Shana’s winter puffer is currently under $150 during Athleta’s semi-annual sale, and it’s got the prettiest shimmer in person (sizes going fast!). Her straight-leg jeans are also on sale at Saks, and if you’re eyeing up that pretty feathered J.Crew bag, use code NEWYEAR for 25% off.

Soft Sweaters, Faux Leather & Go-To Jeans: Our Editors’ Top Sale Picks

It’s comfy sweater time: Laura’s rocking this Athleta henley (great for layering), this fisherman-inspired chunky knit sweater is 30% off at Nordstrom, or snag some luxe cashmere at Naadam with code COMFY50 on select styles!

Faux leather, for the win: Take 30% off full-price at Gap with code THIRTY, and snag Scotti’s flattering faux-leather slim pants, and Jess swears by Abercrombie’s relaxed vegan-leather pants (A&F’s sale is good — extra 25% off almost everything!).

End-of-year sales are one of the best times to scoop up our favorite jeans, like these cropped Levi’s or the Veronica Beard wide-legs (40% off) Scotti styled with a maxi cardigan during the NSale.

Hey, hey, Friday! Hope everyone has fared OK with all the intense weather this week — and all the leftovers, amiright?! We’re packing up to head back to Portland as I write this and crossing all the fingers & toes for event-free travel. I hadn’t been home for Christmas since 2019, so this trip back to NW Arkansas to see my fam was extra-special. Summers are fun, but there’s just that magic of the holidays. Hugs to those who don’t feel magical around the holidays too, though. I see you.

As for some sale finds this weekend…friends. Before we get into the rest, the New Balance 574+ platform sneakers are back in stock! Finally! Yay! Here’s a link to how I styled them up earlier this fall if you need some ideas.

Free People has a really great sale section going. I’m eyeing up this maxi cardi, for sure. Madewell is having an extra 40% off sale too with code LETSGO. This is my top pick. Anthropologie is having an additional 40% off sale items…whoa! But be aware, I believe a lot of it is final sale (double-check when checking out.)

The Patagonia Nano Puff (pretty sure I’m the only person in Portland who doesn’t own one of these) is 30% off in some colors at Backcountry! It’s thin, layerable, packable and amazingly warm I hear.

Happy New Year, friends! Thanks as always for joining us here this year. Whew. Maybe 2023 will give us a slight bit of a break? Here’s hoping. Xoxo -L

ONE: Athleta Flurry Henley (M) – LOVE this top especially for the collar moment, but it’s also a great technical fabric for layering right now. And the sleeves are long enough for warmth this time of year, as well! Then, unbutton the neck post-workout/ski/walk/run and cool down. pants | boots

TWO: NYDJ Velveteen Blazer – Extra 50% off $96 sale price on this beauty with code BYE22. It’s so, so comfy, thin enough to layer easily and just gorgeous. I love this eggplant shade too because it doesn’t pigeonhole you into wearing it for only the holiday season. I’ll be styling mine this winter with a graphic tee, jeans and a scarf. Slightly roomie but overall TTS for layering. Wearing a M. similar Pants | sneakers

THREE: A New Day Erin Combat Boots – You won’t typically hear me talking about Target shoes, y’all, but these white combat boots are wildly comfy, super-cute and on sale for $33! The footbed is cushiony, and I’ve been wearing these a lot more than I realized I would! Great with leggings, joggers and jeans.

Ooph. That blizzard was wicked. I’m currently in Detroit for doctor appointments (managing synkinesis) and saw hundreds of lost bags at the airport. Shana and family actually had to drive up from here a few days ago after their flight was canceled — thankfully, they made it home safe and sound (and with their luggage). Here’s hoping I make it home for New Year’s Eve! (And that you all have a wonderful, happy, safe new year.)

Gap’s sale is incredibly good — we’re talking an extra 60% off sales prices (for example, this velour sweatshirt and matching pants are $24 in the cart…for BOTH pieces), but everything is going pretty fast. Shop early to snag your favorites!

ONE: These Stuart Weitzman boots are over $400 OFF (over 50%!) and come in multiple colors (I’m eyeing up that sandalwood). I love them because of the walkable heel height. And this Valentino bag with gold detail is over 50% off!

TWO: Gap’s sale is really good right now — these High-Rise Faux-Leather Vintage Slim Pants are 30% off with code THIRTY (all sizes and inseams are well stocked too!), and the sweater tank I’m wearing with them is part of that epic 60% off sale styles (it’s $12 right now). 😳

With the exception of our Christmas Monopoly game ending in a little light arguing, our first Nashville Christmas was such a success! Our annual Monopoly tradition is one of my favorites, and this year Santa brought our family a new “Bob’s Burgers”-themed Monopoly game board.

Since we aren’t with extended family this year, we decided to change up our approach to picking out a gift. Rather than letting each person grab a gift, we decided to pull out our trivia game, and the winner of each round got to pick a gift. It was so fun and will 100% be a part of our Christmas-gift-opening traditions next year too! I have to say this city is starting to grow on me, and I’m so incredibly grateful to be spending time with my family.

ONE: I’ve been a SKIMS fan for a very long time, and its dresses are some of my favorites! I wore this one so much this past summer, and yet there are so few photos of me in it. I find that the times I’m having the most fun are the times I forget to snap a photo, so y’all this dress… it’s a whole lotta fun!

TWO: GIMME a cute hiking boot that’s more fashion than technical… I’m crushing hard on these gorgeous hiking boots from Tory Burch. Gahhh, the colorway is just so good.

Haaaaappy weekend. My little family is battling a cold, including my in-laws, who have been visiting. Something hit us all at almost the same time. But the cuddles I’m getting from my toddler are pretty spectacular, despite all of our sniffles. I’ve become incredibly thankful for sunshine and warm weather so we can get fresh air in our backyard, Amazon same-day delivery (WHAT?! This small-town girl will never not be in complete awe of this), and healthy, easy food options on every block. San Diego is my favorite.

In other news, I have a slight obsession with the Ralph Lauren bear — it all started with these socks. They’re super-cute sticking out of Ultra Mini Uggs, and now I’m eyeing up this cutie little tee (included in Saks winter event!) and these slippers (discounted in multiple colors!). His little outfits are just too fun.

Last, the jackets. Oh my, the jackets. I’ve pinned all my faves on sale below, but the theme I’m seeing for winter is colorful puffers. Yes, please. Xx

ONE: The sweats I’ve worn all holiday season are on super-sale. They’re so cute and cozy, I am going to grab another color — Moonstone Beige is calling my name. pants (S) | sweatshirt (L)

TWO: Springy cropped jeans that are lightweight, soft aaaand just above $60. Hey-oh!

Happy What The Hell Day Is It Anyway, friends! This week is always such a trip, and I know I’m not the only one that feels that way. We went to Sacramento for a belated Christmas celebration with my mom’s family (and managed to sneak in eats from both Urban Roots and Doughbots while we were there – the Everything Bagel Cream Cheese Beignet is not to be missed – and it’s freaking vegan!), and today we’re headed up to the city for dim sum with my cousins. The house is a mess, and I’m still nursing a bit of a post-holiday hangover (or maybe it’s just sleep deprivation), but all in all this first holiday season with our two girls has been pretty epic.

Sales I’m perusing this week: Abercrombie’s got up to 50% off, with an additional 20% off most items. That makes these lighter wash flares just $42 and they’re full stocked in all sizes and short, regular and long inseams. And the dad coat I’ve been eyeing is down to just $88 in the brown plaid (also fully stocked in all sizes and lengths).

Verishop’s entire sale section has me drooling. P448’s for 60% off, and timeless Hudson denim for just $48. I haven’t even gotten through half of it, but there’s so much good stuff. And over at Nordstrom, Ultraboosts are on sale for up to 35% off. I have a past version of the blush pink and they’re so cushy and supportive, perfect for both running and HIIT workouts.

Have a great weekend and a Happy New Year! Xo, Em

ONE: These Gap barrel jeans are on sale again, and restocked! Just $38 for the wash I’m wearing here, and the black wash I have is just $33. Use code THIRTY to save. True to size. (Ohhh, and my sweatshirt is on sale, too!)

TWO: Sexiest Sweatshirt Ever? Extra 30% off and all three of the colors still in stock are tempting as heck.

2023 is here, and I can’t get my head around it. Wow. 2020 still feels like it was yesterday, but then I look back and see how much things have changed, how much I have changed, and I’m like, “Oh, yes, it’s been that long,”

Here’s to a new year full of failures, teachings, tears, smiles, and everything we need to remind ourselves we’re human and everyone else is too. But between us, I don’t take January as the start of my year anymore because it’s the freaking winter! So, no. I’ll do some hibernation to refresh and start when nature does again. Happy New Year!

ONE: Free People Anyway Long-Sleeve Top I’m not much of a Free People girl, but it does make some of my favorite wrap tops. I’m obsessed with this top, and I can see it with my wide-leg sweatpants or flared leggings, platform sneakers, and a cropped puffer or longline coat.

TWO: Head-to-Toe Afterglo GloPRO What is it? “Microneedling face and body treatments for firmer, smoother and more radiant skin.” You can read the reviews and see for yourself. It looks tempting!!!

THREE: Cinq à Sept Cargo Joggers (S) – These cargo pants will meet all your casual and dressy needs. And the Navy or Olive would go with everything.

It’s been a long three months since our dachshund, Henri, passed away, and I just filled out my first dog-adoption application form for a long-haired mini dachshund named Charlie. He’s the first dog that’s really set my heart aflutter in a long time. His nicknames are Char-Char, Chunky Charles and Sir Charles, and he’s got that same mischievous look in his eyes that Henri had.

Besides a possible new dog, life has looked pretty chill this past week. Tomorrow we’re going to see the new “Avatar” movie, the first of which just so happens to be my partner, Jon’s, favorite movie ever. It’s been hard to avoid spoilers, but all I know is that it’s three hours long, and that’s a long-ass time for my ADHD brain to be focusing on one thing. I love that our cinema is in the mall, so I can always do a little shopping when my butt goes numb and I get bored in the theater.

ONE: Are you tired of me talking about these A&F jeans yet? Because I am not and will never be tired of singing their praises, especially while they’re still on sale.

TWO: Veronica Beard’s Taylor High-Waist Rigid Wide-Leg Raw-Hem Jeans are my favorite pair of wide-leg jeans ever. They’re so flattering and so comfortable too.
