Hey, hey, Friday! Whew. I’m counting the hours to leave this heavy grayness and head to Palm Springs tomorrow for my favorite (and only, honestly, LOL) conference, Alt Summit! My bestie Nicole (check out her lovely podcast, please!) is the lead photographer and hipped me to the awesomeness that is Alt a few years ago. It was started by the amazing Design Mom, Gabrielle Blair, years ago.
The last time I attended was March of 2020 😅, and I’m SO excited to go back. Greenlea is in “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” this weekend, and I may or may not be going to all six of the shows. It opened last night, and it was SO much fun to watch. They’ve put so much work into rehearsals (she’s super-tired because she’s been getting done after 10 p.m. most nights this week), but man, did it pay off! In hair news, I just started using Drybar’s Double Shot Round Blow-Dryer Brush and omg. Game-changer. Happy weekend! I’ve got sunshine on the mind. And if you’re feeling the same, do not miss the chance to peruse Target’s $25 Spring Break Essentials section. There are fantastic underwire bikini tops, some $10 Birkenstock alternatives, and this not-to-miss, gorgeous, convertible cover up dress…to name a FEW. It’s seriously good. And ohmygosh, if you have a wedding to attend this spring or summer, take a looksie through H&M’s new Wedding Shop — I’m SO DANG IMPRESSED.

Feliz Viernes! I got sick…again. I went from being in Philly, filming videos nonstop, to being in bed since Monday afternoon. It’s all good because I managed to finish my latest post with sweat/lounge sets. I wore the Sweaty Betty one yesterday for two calls I had so I could feel somewhat presentable, and I’ve never been more glad to have nice comfy sets.
I also did something…after two years of posting maybe nine posts per year to my IG feed, I’m back and will be talking color, styling, and how psychological and spiritual personal style can be.

Hi, hi, friends. Happy Friday! It’s gray again here — boo! But we’ve got spring break to look forward to in a few weeks, and I love nothing more than planning elaborate vacations that don’t actually materialize, so that’s the rabbit hole you can find me in this weekend.
My mom is here for a couple of days too, which means our counter is stocked with goodies from our favorite Chinese bakery in Sac (ABC Bakery, IYKYK), and spam musubi are on the menu for lunch. (I’ll take any excuse to eat, obviously, but momma in town is one of the best…)
Things I’m loving at the moment: 1. these adidas Busenitz sneaks! They’re like if a Samba went skater — still slim and flattering on the foot with classic details, but a little more support and cushion. Seriously comfy. (I wear a W8 and sized down to a M6.5.) And 2. these little Kopiko latte packets. Have we talked about these before? My mom brings them when she comes, and they’re everything you love about the classic coffee candy in a beverage. Yum.
ONE: Saks is offering up to a $700 gift card with purchase, which means everything in this outfit is, well, not on sale, per se, but worth snapping up now if you’ve been eyeing them for a bit. Well, it serves me right. Just last week I was bragging to Jon about how I haven’t been sick once this entire winter. And whaddya know?? This week I came down with a nasty virus. It’s not the flu, not COVID (Thank GOD), but something that just simmered in my body all.week.long. Today my temperature finally broke, but oddly enough I woke up with a terrible earache, and it certainly didn’t help that my dog accidentally head-butted me yesterday, leaving me with a huge welt on my forehead. My husband has been on a fly-fishing trip this week, so I’ve got the run of the house to myself, which means a little extra time to cook, read and catch up with friends. I finished reading “A Zoologist’s Guide to the Galaxy” by Arik Kershenbaum this week, and I can’t recommend it enough. It’s such an interesting and thoughtful book about zoology and astronomy if you’re interested in those topics.
This afternoon I’m headed to our local public library’s book sale, which is my opinion is one of the best events of the season. Wish me luck carrying my heavy book bags home today!
On the cooking front, I’ve been experimenting with some new vegetarian recipes. This coconut rice and spicy tofu recipe stole my heart along with the entire “To Asia, With Love” cookbook. I’ll be putting my carbon-steel wok to the test to create all the delicious dishes in Hetty McKinnon’s gorgeous book.
As for fashion, spring is finally springing here in Colorado, and I’m so excited that bright, bold colors like bright green are on trend this season, and retailers are celebrating the season with some awesome sales.
One: Everlane is having a denim sale this weekend, and I’m obsessed with its entire curve line, especially the Curvy Way-High Skinny Jeans and the Curvy ‘90s Cheeky Jeans. These hit me juussst right. The denim has some stretch, but not so much that the jeans lose their shape over time. Time for me to restock!
Two: I also think that J.Crew has been killing it with its spring collection, and a lot of items are 30% to 50% off right now, including the cute barn jacket above (tip: runs large, size down). I’m also tempted to pick up the clothes in the Guarana shade — a perfectly cheerful, bright clementine shade that screams springtime — like this midi skirt.
