The kids and I are on our way to North Carolina for a (very) last-minute trip. We lived in Carolina Beach for a few months last year, and it’s one of my favorite places in the world. It’s just beautiful. This year will be a bit different, but I’m hoping we’ll be happy we went when all is said and done.

Hello, beautiful people! My little guy and I spent yesterday at the zoo, and it turns out that these fave pants of mine work wonders for walking all day in 80-degree weather (but I wasn’t surprised — I knew these pants would be that good). Perfectly breezy, lightweight, and were actually cute with my dad sneakers (here are the same pants in another silhouette — a few colors on sale too!).
My closet is in a really good transition where I finally have warm-weather clothes I’m excited to wear (it’s been 99% thick, hearty layers for…ever), and my latest go-to outfit combo has been perfect for the transitional weather spring brings!
What I’m Most Excited About (Both Sale & Non-Sale): Vuori’s sale section is full of perfect mermaid-summer-shades that I can’t believe are still in stock. These alone are some of my fave leggings. | I’ve been eyeing up this brand for awhile because they have such unique designs, and I finally decided to try this luxe button-up. It’s quite possibly the top of my dreams. | Ombre jeans…I mean, they kinda just LOOK like summer.

We have a 40th birthday party today for one of our closest friends, and the theme is “fashion in the ’40s.” I’m not one to buy things to wear only once, so I’m still figuring out what to wear. I have a Reformation dress that could work, but I’m not sure if it still fits. However, I have a Plan B and C, haha. This other Reformation dress with a pair of gloves (hair + makeup), OR a little more extra with my gorgeous black Cinq a Sept dress (this one is similar) + the gloves, make up and hair. ONE: Vuori Daily Leggings – Finally on sale!!! I love these leggings so much, I have them in multiple colors, the two above being my favorite. They’re comfortable while still being super-flattering. I wear a size S.
TWO: Nike Phoenix Sweatshirt – Also finally on sale. I can’t get enough of this sweatshirt. It’s comfy and oversized yet feminine and sophisticated, which is basically the compliment I got on it last week. More colors available!

Well, hey, friends! Lovely Friday over here all around. The weather is positively gorgeous, and it’s our big girl’s 8th birthday, so we’re hosting 16 of her pals for sundaes, snacks and telephone after school. The theme is Monster High, and I’m a little behind on finishing her cake, but if it doesn’t totally suck, I’ll share it on IG later today. (OK, who are we kidding, I’ll share it either way.) For some reason 8 feels really, really big. Like, Can Legally Ride In The Front Seat big (at least here in California), which just blows my freaking mind.
Lots of party prep still left to do, so I’ll keep the rest of this brief. Obsessions this week: this color-enhancing lip balm (see it on me here) | everything about this outfit, but particularly the jacket (on sale!) | and this men’s bomber but, like, for me — 86% off!

Happy weekend, beautiful people! To be honest, this week started out pretty darn rough for me, dealing with a family issue, but we’re out of the woods now and ending the week on a high note. The weather is perfect right now in West Michigan, and I’m hoping that means spring has finally sprung (fingers crossed).
It’s a beautiful day out, and we’re planning on heading to Lake Michigan with our dog, Gus, this weekend, which is pretty much my ideal scenario. So life is looking good at the moment.

ONE: Mare Mare Pleated Maxi Dress – I stumbled across this maxi dress at Anthro a couple of days ago, and I’m obsessed. It would be perfect for a spring or summer event, like a baby shower or wedding! It comes in four perfect colors for spring and summer, is pretty well stocked in standard, petite and plus sizes, and is $80 off.
TWO: Everlane Barrel-Leg Camo Pants – I’ve been getting back into the camo trend more and more lately, so when I came across the perfect pair at Everlane, I bought them immediately. Anne’s Top Sale Picks
This spring season has been a busy time for my family and me. I’ve been relishing hosting guests at our home and celebrating milestones with friends. Plus, events are a great reason to put all of my spring fashion finds to good use, like my jungle green slides and bright orange bag. That said, I’m clearly dreaming of a beach vacation after this busy season ends because most of my sale picks below are perfect for a few days of sun and sand.
Personally, I’m a sit-under-an-umbrella-and-read type of beachgoer, so I need a tote for my Kindle and other beach accessories. Plus, I have the complexion of a Twilight cast member, which means I also need a good cover-up, hat, and plenty of sunscreen. What about you? Do you jump in the waves or park it on your towel??

The fabric is cool and comfortable, plus I love the textured look of linen. I also love, love, love my Drapeweave suit (jacket and trousers), which comes in several different colors.
TWO: My favorite black pants are on sale at GAP right now. I dress these up for work events with a blazer, silk shirt, heeled sandals and a structured bag. I also dress these pants down with a graphic tee, sneakers and a belt bag. I just find these pants to be so comfy and versatile. These hip-hugging white jeans that Shana and I both tried on are also on sale. I’m also sorely tempted to add this linen midi dress to my cart.
